In short
A young knight Dougai Ryuga received a command from an unknown sender which leads him to Volcity. Volcity has been said to be the city of dreams and hope, but what Ryuga found there is the presents of Horrors. Ryuga summons his armor, which lost its shine for some reason.
There he met the others who are going to free Volcity from the hands of darkness.

Didn't it like, just come out in theaters in Japan? I doubt we'll see subs soon, although it does look quite neat.

I'm also very excited for the new series, it looks great, I'm also liking the new Knights' designs, although I'm not sure how I feel about the colors on the new Garo suit.

I so can't wait, even though I'm not halfway done with Makai Senki.

Damn, I still need to finish the first series. And Makai Senki. And Kiba Gaiden. And the first movie. :lol

Well, that's good, to me it seemed they have done everything possible with "One face" Kouga (love, revenge, rivality, messianic mission, etc.).
I don't dislike him, but a third season with his same stoic attitude again would have not worked so well. And I can't possibly imagine the guy evolving a bit.

Which is why they need a movie to wrap things up for Kouga.
To rediscover himself in his "final" mission.

That's weird, I think Kouga evolved during the two seasons quite well. Eh, to each his own.

Dude, is that Gokai Silver???

Of course he experienced a lot of things as a person, as a fighter he's been badass from start to end, plain regular badassery, that's what he does :thumb:.

He rarely show feelings, sometimes it relies on flashbacks to give a glimpse of his life. What I mean is I can't connect more with his character at the end of season 2 than at the very start, because the way he acts (or the way the actor plays, but we can't know what were his directive on stage...)

Ryosei Konishi is very different when he's not acting. Just watch any interview or event with him in it, he's cheerful and complete reverse of what Kouga is. The fact that he can stay stoic like that really impresses me.
For me, showing much emotion doesn't make me connect with a character, lots of anime and toku characters are annoying because they show too much emotion, Jan from Gekiranger and comes to mind for me. Badass as he was, I just never really care for him because he's supremely annoying. Kouga on the other hand, even hardly showing emotion, his dedication and noble heart is what make him a great character for me. His transformation from jerkass during the beginning of the series to jerkass with a heart gold is very evident for me. Kouga crying during the final episode in the 1st season is more touching than anything Jan ever does in the entire series of Gekiranger. The culmination of Kouga as a person and fighter in Soukoku no Maryu is what make watching that movie a great experience for me.

Love the new opening, love the look of the characters, love the action. Cannot wait until this starts up.

My problem is how much they were drawing out Kouga and Kaoru's relationship. Makai was a joke because it seems like even though they have been going out for several years, they hadn't even made it to lunch yet. Is lunch pretty much the same as being married in the Garo universe? Because it sure seems to be. In fact, that has become an ongoing joke between myself, my g/f, and our friends.

Honestly, it seemed to me like they hadn't seen each other in awhile at the start of Makai Senki. There was a definite sense of distance between them the first time they met up.

Kaoru went to France to study art in the finale of season 1 and only went back during the end of Byakuya no Maju. After that, Kouga has to go to the Sabakku during the event of Yoseki no Wana and then to the city where Red Requiem take place. So yeah, they didn't see other for quite a while. Also, in the Ankoku Makai Kishi hen novel, there is a story of Kaoru confessing her love for Kouga. In the Hagane no Houkou short story, Kouga and Kaoru has a child name Raiga.

But it just felt poorly written that lunch was like the most important thing to do between the two characters, and even that never really happened. All I know is I have to say these shows (Toku and anime) make me wonder how the Japanese ever procreate. I'd swear they are all just pod people.

It's hard to care about Wizard and Kyoryuger when we have this and Akibaranger s2 coming up.

I honestly don't really care much about Akibaranger season 2 at this point. All of my anticipation is going to Garo.

I'm so thankful that there's a new Garo because nothing else is all that interesting with toku right now. Well, except for Kakuranger getting its weekly subs. :p

Shouldn't we have a Forum for Garo?

We totally should. It's better than most of the stuff that has a forum right now.

I wouldn't know. But it should get a forum considering it's to be ongoing. If Akibaranger gets one, then Garo should too.

I've thought about suggesting this, too. Between the new series and two movies, it's a pretty Garo-heavy year. Having its own forum may draw more people into the show, too (and as many of my friends will tell you, I never miss an opportunity to expose more people to Garo).

I've heard from somewhere that during the recent Garo event, it was said that Junya Ikeda's character Takeru will sleep with different women in every episode, can anyone confirm this?

Well, I've heard that this season's going to have a lot more nudity. And Ikeda did say he loves all the boobs Garo has...
