Akibaranger Season 2 Official Promo
 

The first official promo has been released for the forthcoming second season of the Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger! While the video was only viewable on the official website in Japan only, it has since been hosted over at popular Japanese video site Niconico.

Thanks to DecaEnd of Henshin Justice Unlimited, we also have a selection of screenshots from the video. These include a first look at new Akiba Blue Mitsuki Iwashimizu, a closer look at Akiba Red's new super mode and even Malshina with her own Z-Cune modelled on the villain of the Aoi-tan anime!

If you look closely at Malshina's Z-Cune, you can see that it's based off of Aoi-Tan's villain rather than Aoi-tan herself ^_^

I am stupidly excited for this.

That Super Mode is the single creepiest thing I Have ever seen, and I watched every episode of Garo.

I want this to air already!!

This will either be purely amazing, or hilariously bad. I am fine with either.

Helmets aside, I always thought the akibaranger suits looked awesome, but that armour is the dumbest thing ever.

Honestly, with new Garo coming out the same month this has moved way down my anticipation list from "can't wait" to "oh yeah, that's happening too."

Also that power up mode looks stupid as hell.

I have to agree. The 'upgrade' is super creepy but maybe that;s what they are going for. Kind of a 'hey otaku, you're f'ing creepy' sort of thing.

My god, the designs are getting worse...

Hrm...I wonder if the Machine Itashar is going to get an upgrade/power up. Maybe another toyota will become armor. Oh god, what if each ranger gets their own Prius and they all merge together.

If that was anywhere near their thinking, Toei needs to rethink how they handle buisness. They've been on a real kick lately of insulting the inteligence of their fans. Between their explination for no Kyoryu Yellow and now this creepy armor.

After being sick for the last 2 days its a nice surprise to see these photos. Oh and I totally called it on Malsheena possibly being Akiba Purple. Just sayin' :lol

I don't think that's the case. After all, Akibaranger is aimed at that audience. I believe that Toei(?) is smart enough to not indirectly imply there's something wrong with the people who watch their show and buy their merchandise; they're not Syfy.

Honestly, to me it seems more like they're making fun of Nobu.

I'm with you here. I understand the reasoning with Red's Super Mode, but Yellow's buns and the weirdness that is Blue's new helmet are just odd. (Then again since we have a new blue this is something that can work out, given we get better angles of the new helmet)

Still, if they do a Goseiger tribute will Sentai watch it?

Much like how this show mocks itself and the franchise it's representing I think the Cho Akibared power-up is meant to mock your usual sentai power ups. I think it's another case of Toei being brilliantly weird and self deprecating.

And hate was the wrong word. And I don't not like all of Akibaranger. I find the Figuarts at the right price I'd buy them, I like those designs.

The suits where originally just a shared delusional idea between the three of them, and when you have Yumeria in that mix you'd expect it to look a little weird =p

I think it'd look slightly better if it was lower or flatter like it is on the back. But yeah, still a bit weird.

Either way, I can't wait for the new season to start, hopefully the writing is as strong as last seasons.

I do like the buns on Yellow with the white tassle things hanging down. Something very Sailor Moon about those.
