S.H. Figuarts Tyranno Ranger/ MMPR Red Ranger Official Images
8 Attachment(s)
The Official Bluefin Tamashii Facebook Page has just posted up official images for S.H. Figuarts Tyranno Ranger or as he'll be known by his US release, the original Mighty Morphin' Red Ranger!
Tyranno Ranger/Red Ranger will come with his trademark Ryuugekiken/Power Sword as well as the Ranger Stick/Blade Blaster and Thunderslinger! US retail for this figure will be $44.99 through Bluefin, Japanese pricing is unconfirmed at this time. |
He looks great!
|
I'll more than likely get Green, so I'll more than likely get Red.
|
Show of hands... How many people here consider this a Rocky figure?
Nobody? ...that's what I thought |
Maybe because I've been up all night.. But I do consider this a Rocky figure. Also when did he get a slingshot? I don't remember a slingshot..

You see that blue guy up in the top right corner? That's the Rocky figure I'm waiting for :p Quote:

He looks awesome. I figure outside of the lower arms and lower legs, they are just using the same buck they used for the DekaRangers since there is no actual sculpting required on any of these guys' bodies. Nevertheless, that is pretty sweet. I want him now.
|
Looks great! Unless I can get him cheap I'll probably pass as Red Ranger is not one of my favorites. But he still looks great!
Still jonseing for TigerRanger/Yellow Ranger. That's a "must buy" for me if it happens! (Question is, male buck or female buck? HRMM.) |
Male buck obviously. Yellow has a male buck in the show regardless of who the suit bearer is, so there is no need to do a female buck. Maybe they could do a female buck version as a convention exclusive or something, but the normal version should have only a male buck.

Am I the only one not interested in either of these? I have no attachment to any of the shows/characters, and the designs never did anything for me.
|
What is "buck?"
And PLEASE do not answer with a snide obvious joke. |

A good example of various "bucks" is the old COPS toy line, which had he same construction as GI Joe only scaled up. That had 3 male bucks -- the standard one, the "large" one for big characters like Rock Krusher and the "thin" one for characters like Dr. Badvibes. All had the same articulation and jointing, but overall different bodies. Personally, I don't want a skirt attachment or variant for the hypothetical Tiger Ranger, just a straight up accurate one. And the Figuarts guys are generally so thin that it can easily pass as a muscular, fit female body like Trini anyway, heh! :D |

The term "buck" goes back about as far as action figures themselves; it was used in industry as far back as the original 1/6th GI Joe toy. |

Take the upper legs and hands of all of the rangers released thus far. Most of them are the same pieces just with a different paint job on them. Or in the case of the Gokaigers, Red, Blue, and Green use the exact same bodies, just with different heads. Silver uses the arm legs. Pink and Yellow share the exact same bodies, just different heads. The same would go for like the DaiRangers. The four guys would have everything the same except for the heads. |

The only thing I take issue with aside from the shoulder joints(which are like Shinkenger Figuarts) is the forearms. I know Tamashii was going or a "gloved" look hence the thickness at the end of the gloves, but it's a bit too thick.
Not a dealbreaker though, aside from that this looks very very screen-accurate and is the best Red/tyranno Ranger toy I've seen yet. |
Whats the likely hood we get the rest of the team? Having Green and Red would be nice but I'd need all of them.
