Go-Busters Vs. Gokaiger Discussion!
The raw for Go-Busters Vs. Gokaiger has magically hit the net nearly two weeks before the scheduled DVD release! I just found it over on Alpha Hero Shock myself and caught it.
All I can say is that it's a great film. The premise is actually pretty good, the time travel bits were fun, the Phantom Keys actually turned out to be an awesome plot device. And, DAT MECHA GOKAI CHANGE. The final battle which featured multiple robo Gokai changes was brilliant. Gozyujin to Daizyujin! Buster Hercules to Magiking! Go-Buster Ace to Gekitouja and then Flashking AND to Ryuseioh?! Loved this movie. Loved it. |

I can't wait to see this, but at the same time it makes me a little sad because after this there's no more Gokaiger. :(
|
As bad as I want to see this, I'm going to hold out for at least an HD raw.

And that power up for Dai Voyager was such a missed opportunity. Big giant gloves and a chest plate? That's it Toei? You can give other sentai new movie exclusive machines or robos, even nice repaints but Boukenger got that? I mean Hurricanger VS Gaoranger saw them getting to combine with each others mecha! You telling me you can't make like one special GoGo Vehicle for the Boukenger movie? Had the movie been Boukenger VS Magiranger featuring Super Sentai then I think it could have been great but they really did drop the ball on that one. Quote:

I notice no one is complaining there wasn't a Gaoranger vs Timeranger movie. Did you guys found Gaoranger vs Super Sentai good?

Besides being a huge Boukenger fan, I've recently become a huge Gaoranger fan. Gaoranger Vs. Super Sentai is long. Like WAY too long. The premise to get the Gaorangers to meet their predecessors is pretty lame, the flashback sequences are all pretty badly spliced together, the new villain they made for the film was okay though. The Red senshi rollcall was great! Aside from the fact that it spliced vintage footage in because they were too cheap to film new rollcalls. And actually the final battle in the end was really really good. Seeing the old mecha appear to help fight was really cool but again, they just spliced in vintage footage that was clearly pretty dated. Overall that movie is enjoyable but very long and very slow going. It could have been much better and I would've loved Goaranger Vs. Timeranger.

This movie...so AWESOME! Loved every bit of it, but if I had to name one part that I loved (that didn't involve seeing Ahim again <3 :lol) it would be the mecha battle and Magiking (my favorite mecha) in action again!!! :D
|
The mecha battle was really great but I do have just a few problems with it.
- Ace turning into Gekitouja was awesome and inspired, but why was his key the only one that allowed for more changes after that? Flashking AND Ryuseioh? Awesome but it doesn't make sense why it was the only one. I understand that they only had a select number of recreated suits to use for these scenes but still. - The Daibouken change was of course my favorite but there's a scene where Daibouken shoots a wench out to grab the enemy that doesn't make sense. If you pause that scene it's the wench from GoGo Crane which isn't part of the standard Daibouken formation. But you never see the vehicle itself on screen at all. - Gaoking. Yet another of my favorite mecha being used. However in between scenes it magically turned from Gaoking into Gaocentarus?! Impossible, because that requires Gao Icarus and Elephant which weren't there to start and it requires Gaolion to grow larger than his original form which only happened twice in Gaoranger. Don't get me wrong. I loved those scenes but they do have just a couple inconsistencies that bug me. |
Even when it has one job to do, Gokai mananges to screw it up, as usual.

pr super megaforce vs pr 2015 team up [ gokaiger vs gobuster footage] in beginning of pr 2016 series

Just finished watching it. Was pretty good, not Goseiger vs Shinkenger levels of greatness but good nonetheless. Plot was paper thin (Gokaigers pretending to be evil again? Yawn.) and rushed but the emotional stuff with the buddyroids and the gratuitous mecha fanservice was great. Bacchus Gil was completely forgettable however.
I liked the the film seemingly kept the Gokai changes to a minimum (I assume Gai got the keys from the past, but I wish they'd explained that a bit better) since I always enjoy seeing the Gokaiger suits doing some actual fighting. |
i really enjoyed the film like zeo said the way they got the key could of been explained better as well. but i did like the mecha gokaigers defently Jin when buster herceles changed to magi king due to the fact the actor was magi yellow so i glad they threw some thing about that in to the movie. but all in all it was good enjoyable and rewatchable but was not the best i still like gekiranger vs go0nger and go-onger vs shinkenger and so on but i can enjoy it.

I enjoyed this movie, but I've seen better. It's lacking what makes crossovers great, team interaction. The teams spend little time mingling. We a little with Gai, J, and Yoko and Marvelous and Hirmou, but it's just not enough.
For example, here's a small list of things these teams could do if they had mingled more: Nick getting Navi lost. Jin, Doc, Ryuuji have to put their engineering skill together to sovle the problem. Joe and Ryuuji having a badass team up moment where Ryuuji has to overheat and Joe cools him down with a water based Gokai Change. Ahim and Yoko dressing Roger Rabbit up. Instead, they mostly just keep to their own teams. You could replace any of the characters and nothing would really change. ON THE GOOD: The Megazord Gokai Changes were awesome. Now if they could combine this and the 199 Heroes' Megazord battle, that'd be the best thing ever. There also seemed to be a few continuous action shots in this that were decently done. The Edo battle was good to. Honestly, all of the fights were good in this movie. I'll definitely be rewatching the fights over and over. What little mingling we did get was okay. Chicken Curry was funny (though the camera effect was strange). The subplot with the Buddyroids being turned into a help version of Bender (I hope someone gets that reference) was nice, I just wish it wasn't used here as that could've been used in the show and the time here could've been used for more mingling. The cameos were mostly good. Red Princess was one of the more clever uses of a cameo and Dino Curry was just down right fun. When it comes down to it I'll call it a good toku movie, but sadly wastes a lot of character moment potential. There's better and there's far worse. PS Anyone else think Flash Robo only appears to screw with Saban? :p PPS While most of the cameos were good, Jealousto has no reason to be here and makes no sense. PPPS Also, since one of the time frames is 2005, they could've had Jin meet MagiYellow or one of the Gokaigers think MagiYellow is Jin. |
Jealoshitou always has a reason to show up. It's called being awesome ;)

Oh, so the Gokaigers are cool with attacking civilians now?
Awesome. Oh, so now Joe, Luka, and monster are trapped in the past with no witnesses. Are they so stupid to think that attacking the one possible ally until he drops the Mythic Key was a good idea, then revealing they're not evil until AFTER the monster gets his hands on it? I'm serious. They went full retard right there. Anyway, other than that, the movie wasn't bad. It did feel lacking on character interactions, since by splitting the teams up like this, we'd flash to one group then immediately move to another. Gosei/Gokai did it better when they split the groups. I did like that the Gokaigers weren't ranger spam, and that, at the end, they did establish that they returned the keys again. The robot scene was awesome. Wished GekiTouja got more use, though. I also wish we got to see a clusterfuck team up of G12 Formation, Ultimate Daibouken, and Samurai Ha-Oh, since the Mythic Keys have multiple changes. Oh, and the chicken curry scene was funny, too. |

It would have been nice that Jin met, let's say, a plain dumb Magi Green aniki aswell. |
I haven't watched the movie yet since I can't find it all anywhere! If any of you guys could help me out it be awesome, but my question is how did they explain on how they obtain the past set of rangers key again? Since the end of Gokaiger they send them back to the original owners?

You'd think a bunch of giant mechas fighting in Feudal japan would have serious repercussions on the space time continum…time travel makes my head hurt.
Mecha gokai change was all kinds of awesome though. |
