Gokaiger Toys to be released in Hong Kong
 

Pirate Sentai Gokaiger will be premiering in Hong Kong soon, dubbed in Cantonese.

The toy line will also be release at retail stores like ToysRUs, and the first promo vid has been found on Youtube. This is marvelous news for collectors and fans that may have missed out on Gokaiger’s toy line!

It premiered last week. But ep 2 apparently wasnt on this week due to schedule change. I'm not surprised they skipped Goseiger. They still cant get rid of the bloody things in some stores.

Man i can't wait for Super Megaforce.

Hmm, what's a good way to get the HK versions? I only really want the pistol and maybe some keys(really just GokaiRed).

Would the sound effects be the same or altered for chinese?

Usually, the sound effects on Hong Kong versions will be the same as the original toys, but often at a lower volume for some kind of safety regulations. But it usually isn't that big of a deal.

Japanese. I have all the Engine Souls (bear RV due to not being able to find the Highway Buster at the time) and they use the same japanese voices.

The interesting thing about these commercials is they sometimes have different names compared to the Tv series on air (Engine Souls in english as opposed to the commercial's 'Soul of Fire God'). I wonder if the TV air will actually use the translation of ranger key here.

Heh TVB has been getting sloppy. Besides a lot of the 90s talent has disappeared from the TV anime/toku so the new dubs usually suck. If you watch some of the recent toku you'll notice the same guys doing the voices. The voice that narrates the Great war plays the lead in Kabuto and Den-O at least. Man the 90s was the best time for HK dubs.

As a side note, they skipped Goseiger apparently…Sentai won't like that one bit.

Wait... I thought the toys were allready released in Hong Kong. When I was looking up ranger keys I remember seeing quite a few coming from there and then there's the whole "Bandai Asia" toys that supposedly were quiter than their Japanese counterparts. What am I missing?

Not entirely sure about the quieter thing but Hong Kong does important japanese toys so they essentially get the toyline twice. But aside from candy toys, those imports dont end up in big chain retailers (Jusco or TRU). Usually only sold through smaller shops. These ones are the proper Hong Kong release with the Tv series being run alongside it. You'll notice Goseiger stuff in HK as well but that series was never shown here.

Ah ok, I didn't think about that aspect. That makes sense. I guess I just assumed since Korea had gotten the show (and renamed it apparently) that the same was true for Hong Kong and other parts of China. Thank you for your response!

I just want the prices for the Ranger keys to drop so I can have all the keys eventually. I have the treasure chest and it needs to be filled up with keys dammit!
