I just found out about this.
Now normally I wouldn't post about a fan film but.....well looks at the names in the credits at the end.

yea i saw this yesterday and i remember on there facebook page that they re-realsed the teaser trailer with robert axelrod doing zeds voice but you can tell he aged now cause he can do it as well as he used back in the day.

plus they'd be using different voice software than whatever MMPR Prod. used.

Not to resurrect any bombs, but these guys were on Rangerboard and were extremely rude and patronizing, as well as pretentious. They were basically asking for handouts, and was so off-putting by their attitudes that they were pretty much chased away from Rangerboard.

Maybe they've changed their tune. But before, they left a very bad taste in my mouth.

While it's nice to hear Robert Axelrod's voice any day of the week, his Lord Zedd voice has not aged well, in my opinion.

That's actually a pretty interesting looking poster, and the trailer isn't as nearly bad as I was expecting it to be. This might be worth a watch...maybe. Lord Zedd is easily my favorite PR villain, so it's nice to see him as the focus in even a fan-made movie.

Anything Free is worth giving a shot.

I hope they find a better sound editor for the finished product. The shoddy audio editing brought the visuals down.

so they are now hinting that Jason Faunt will be playing a character other than Wes in the film.

I've wanted gritty since 1993, not that it NEEDS to be, but I think Garo has shown us how good gritty can be.

And you have Garo, Garo and its many versions, sequels, seasons, one offs and whatever else.

Why do you need a gritty reimagining of something decidedly not gritty?

I find it interesting that they made the blue ranger a woman. So they are going to have 3 girls on the team. I am officially intrigued.

Because it's another "oh noes, we need a gritty Power Rangers so it can be acceptable for adults to enjoy" scenario.

I digress however. It does look pretty cool, but again, the representitive for this in his initial debut annoucing this was a complete and total dick. Therefore, I'm out.

Yeah, but that was how long ago? People change and grow man. Theres no need to keep bringing up old things and dragging people through the mud constantly.

Cute. Unfortunately the scenarios were different. One, this happened less than a year ago, and secondly, they wanted money from the fandom without providing any results, and when asked about the details of the project, they were being extremely rude and arrogant.

Clever that you were waiting to use that against me, but the dynamics are no where near the same. Cardenas didn't demand money from the fandom while patronizing them and insulting them at the same time. And if he did, he's changed his tune about the fandom and certainly didn't do it to our proverbial faces.

In the future, try not to take it personal when I disagree or comment on something that you don't appreciate, because it will end up backfiring, just like this did.

But you've now made your third comment in this thread about some event in the past where they didn't have anything to show.

Now they have, a trailer, a cast, crowd funding, physical props and four power ranger Alumni with two more expressing interest.

I'll keep posting updates....on their updates, but by all means, it's an open board. you keep posting about something that happened somewhere sometime in the past.

It doesn't matter what they have now. It didn't matter what they had then. It's the way the situation was handled.

Keep posting updates. But don't be surprised when the attention isn't there. They've already made a name for themselves to quite a few fans already, and it's not a good one.

I never said that there wasn't any attention, but I know that there's a wonderful thread about them on Rangerboard.

Obviously the attention is so great, you had to ask why it's not getting enough attention though, right?

Seriously though, what's your problem? Maybe I should take the advice of others and just not feed the troll. It's difficult to have a conversation with someone on a forum when they get bent just because someone disagrees.

ANYWAY, this film interests me. I am curious to see what the story entails.

I saw the thread in question that MnemonicSyntax is talking about and even partook in a little "WTF GUYS" posting of my own at RangerBoard. The founder, at that time, was kind of a jerk about the whole thing. When asked why should we give him money, the response was literally "Why WOULDN'T you give me money? We know what we're doing. This is going to be awesome. Trust us."

RangerBoard has had a habit of attracting (unintentionally I'm sure) former Power Ranger actors who like to try and use the fandom to make money. Princess Shayla of Wild Force and even Kira of Dino Thunder had threads saying "Hi guys!" and talking BRIEFLY, VERY BRIEFLY, about their time on the show before throwing out their links where you can buy their stuff.

The filmmaker who showed up on the board wasn't very kind or respectful from the very people he wanted to dish money at him. I have yet to have any contact with them, but at the same time, I have not made any attempt to approach them. The attitude they gave was that many of us were "beneath" them, and that they were doing us a favor with this movie.

I'm curious how "dark" it will be, seeing as Axelrod does NOT like his roles to have anything too violent or "dark" in them (or at least that's the vibe I got from one of his Power Morphicon panels where a fan asked him to say something in Zedd's voice that was darker in nature, and he refused).

See to me, that doesn't come across as a Jerk thing to say, but someone seriously over excited about something.....

See....I'd like to agree, but at the same time I've little empathy for people "coming off bad" at Rangerboard. back in 05 I was running the Guest Relations/GreenRoom for a convention that had 5 PR guests. (No sleep) Watching RB like a hawk, before hand the head of the board....Ray?....declared they were going to "take over the con"......and lord did they try, and lord did I have to keep them all in line and out of places they weren't supposed to be....and boy howdy was I portrayed as a "Monster who terrorized board members" after the fact. so....All I'm seeing is what this production crew is saying NOW.....what they said then? Doesn't matter to me....especially if it was said on RB.

Hey man, you got a different opinion that is totally your bag and your right. what you did was state the FACTS I was stating from my EXPERIENCES were "too long ago" or "Not over a long enough period". Over and Over. That does tick me off. More so than you will ever know from things that happened on the Interwebs from too many years ago.

So why should I give a Rip, you keep coming into this thread saying "I don't care! because they were jerks when they started" but go into another thread where I say "This guy is a jerk, I've been told by numerous coworkers of his & then experienced it in person for three solid days" and you keep going around saying "no that's just your opinion" over and over.
