I'm curious to know what Sentai thinks.

They have completely ruined Gosei Knight with this wannabe Robocop BS. I'm sorry but it's awfulness like this that keeps me from watching Power Rangers anymore.

Voice is exactly what I expected, so I have no strong feelings either way.

I take it I'm the only person who likes the robot walking sounds then?

Certainly seems better then Gold's debut…at least Yellow doesn't sound like she's on drugs! :lol

That voice is lame. I actually hope they go for a "he starts out cold and robotic but learns to looooooove" just so that it can change.

BUT I kinda like the walking sound effects, Robocop ripoff that it is. Also "Roboknight" is dumbass fucking name. They could have done way the hell better with that. It's not the robo or the knight part, it just makes it so obvious that he's a Robocop spoof.

Not the best first impression, but I'm sure he'll grow on me. That or I'll just watch... Goseiger :(

Am I the only one really loving this? I mean, his name is Roboknight. I think the only other option would be to have the casual deep, stoic voice; if they did that I would've been "meh".

Hmm..Ok well the way I see it there is nothing wrong with the voice actor...It's just that the voice acting needs working for Mr. Robo Knight.."Stand..Down, I am roboknight"....He just blandly says it, a bit more cold hearted deep robo voice would be neat in my opinion. That or something more alive I guess...It's hard to point out what I mean.

Everything's a rip-off of something. Besides, kids don't know who Robocop is anyway.

Yeah, I was thinking something along the lines of one of the Rune Gods from Magic Knight Rayearth. Now those were bad ass!

Saban. You've pressed my very last button. I've stood by you through Megaforce leading up to this point. I've defended using Gokaiger and Goseiger together, even though it made little sense. And was being shoehorned in purely because it's an anniversary. I defended BoA, I praised you for this group of actors. Especially Ciara. As being one of the absolute best. And you decide to reward my efforts with his afrontery. This bare-faced slap across my cheek and kick between the legs. Your decisions make so very little sense. You keep Gosei, Tensou, the Japanese cards, Gosei Great, you keep nearly every name from Tensou Sentai Goseiger. Yet when it comes to one part almost every fan of Sentai wants to see, the same fans you say you give a damn about, even people who hate Goseiger want to see, you give this insult. You turned the absolute best character in Goseiger into a dime-store Dollar Tree Robocop Knock-Off. A wannabe Blue Centarion. And only listening to the theme from Goseiger right now is keeping me very being so very more explicit with what you've done. You ruined, absolutely ruined, the appeal of one of my favorite Sentai characters of all time. And my enjoyment of Megaforce. To the point I don't think I'll even finish watching the rest of the season. I'll focus on Wizard, and Zyoryuger. So thank you, Haim. Thank you so much for taking your hand and giving every fan of Gosei Knight the middle finger.

Well, there's your problem right there. Part of why I couldn't enjoy (or finish) Samurai because it seemed like it was literally frame by frame Shinkenger and that's not why I watch Power Rangers. Is it my fault? Actually yeah it is because it's only because of Shinkenger I could anticipate certain patterns and concepts, there was nothing new for me to anticipate. If you wanna watch Sentai...go watch Sentai.

Adaptation is what I look forward to every year. An adaptation of a show I shouldn't legally be downloading every week; in that sense, Saban doesn't really owe us anything but they're gonna be nice about it anyway via merchandise.

At the end of the day you're never gonna please everyone, at least not at the same time.

I think Saban did this to get in on the hype that is going on for that Robocop remake that's in progress. You know, choose a reference that older fans would understand, and hope that the younger audience will think it is cool. Considering that I'm in between, I shall say this- I don't like it either. Still gonna buy the 4 inch RoboKnight though, only, he will be GoseiKnight in my collection.

I already explained this point in my original post. Saban direct translated so much from Goseiger already. The cards, the names, it would've taken little to keep him Gosei Knight. And it would've made sense with the story. Knight of Gosei, Gosei Knight. A Special Headder that Gosei calls on when absolute evil has risen and there's no other choice. Instead he makes him into a poor man's Robocop/Blue Centarion and it just sucks. I'm watching the episode tomorrow. But I tell you, right now, my hopes are not high.

And, with a few snippets of dialogue, Sentai snapped.

BullBlack was given a Christian-Bale-Batman-before-The-Dark-Knight-ever-happened voice for Lost Galaxy. Yes, once Mike took over that changed but still...
I'll at least watch the episode. And THEN I'll decide if RoboKnight is a complete disrespect to Super Sentai that trumps Operation Overdrive thrice.
Until then, eh? Not bad but not great. Just okay. It meets the standards of "heroic."

I liked him better after he became Mike.

Well that's why I'm looking forward to season 2. I mean, I'm thankful he didn't adapt Alata's character type (which I know has an archetype name that I can't remember) because it was him and the rest of the cast I couldn't watch.

They direct translated the concepts which...is usually okay in some parts. But here's the thing, he didn't necessarily translate the story; angels, elemental tribes, el chupacabra... Yes it could've been easy to just make him a regular ancient dude with a normal voice but I liked robots as a kid, I'm sure kids still do. The weird thing about power rangers/sentai is it's always been about ancient powers and legends...that are still technologically more advanced in the modern world.

So we'll wait and see how the episode plays out but it seems like they clearly don't want to make him Gosei Knight. And hey, guess what...you can watch Gosei Knight on old episodes from Goseiger!

I said I'm watching tomorrow. Giving it the chance. My hopes are just very low for this.

I love it!!! Yess!! I love Robocop and now we have a Power Ranger version!! I can't wait for this episode!!! Megaforce continues to be awesome!!!

I actually think this is a really fitting voice. It's much more fitting of a robot than Gosei Knight's was, I think. I don't know what it would take to satisfy some people.

Kinda was expecting this.I gave up way back during Samurai when they were adding laser noises to,well,every motion the rangers did.Sorry but I want my hits to sound like solid objects hitting each other.Also,just a protip,enough with the puns.If I wanted that many puns,I'd watch Batman and Robin.

Obviously something better then what we got.If you really think thats the best they can do,then your mistaken.Oh and Gosei Knight was never a "robot".Saban just decided to make him one cause "Robots are cool!"

I really like this, and can't wait to see Robo Knight in-action. Then again, I have absolutely no sentimental attachment to Goseiger, Gokaiger, or well...anything Sentai for that matter, so changes like this don't bother me.

In-fact, I'd rather they make the Power Ranger shows as new and unique as possible. Then again, I'd love to see a Power Rangers show that was all new, and didn't use ANY Sentai footage...at all...Not only am I in the minority on that, I'm probably the only one...which is a most wonderful thing...:D

None that I can remember. He was never a robot. This is just Saban fucking with the product...again.

Oh I never said the voice wasn't fitting,I just said Gosei Knight wasn't a robot.Which was implied in the post I replied to.

Granted,kids associate zords with robots.But you don't think part of the company/buisness side of Saban thought "Hey,if we make him a robot then his merch will sell like hotcakes!"?
