Phoenix Theory
 

I've been thinking since I watched him get kicked into the Sun, how they might be able to bring Phoenix back. And I think I finally figured out how. Whenever Phoenix is destroyed and returns to Life again he becomes stronger. And Haruto kicked him into the Sun so he'd die and come back to Life forever. But each time the Sun killed him, he'd only become stronger. And eventually he'd almost have to become strong enough to break free of the Sun. Like a Super Phoenix. I'm hoping this happens and he comes back during the last episodes, or at the very least a movie.

It actually appears that he needs time for his mana to gather himself so he can become stronger when he is resurrected. But since the sun will always be destroying his body and the flames never go out, it negates his recovery process as it'll kill him every time before he reforms. For him to survive, the writers are probably gonna pull out some bs that makes him suddenly able to absorb the sun's flames or something

Anyway, he established during his fight against Medusa that he's grown to the point where he doesn't take as long to regenerate. It's only natural that he'd reach the point where regeneration time becomes completely negligible.

So the question is whether Wizard is using the "Phoenixes have a certain amount of regenerations before dying permanently" rule lots of others series use.

So I'm late :lol I'm getting closer to where everyone else is. And I really hope not. Or.. maybe he does have a limited amount. And uses them all except one. Saving his final life to make one final epic run at Wizard.

I thought Phoenix was a crap villain but after such an epic send off I actually really grew to love him and if it is in direct continuation I'd love to see how he comes back.

Nah, Phoenix had his time to shine. It is time to let Medusa's character fully play out and release her full potential. I like Gremlin, but I cannot wait to see her slay him.

I would love to see Medusa going back to being a badass like she was in the early episodes.

Oh yeah, the only way Phoenix should return is if Foundation X somehow rescues him, but they seem to be completely gone from Wizard.

That's not a bad thing. They did pretty much nothing in OOO or Fourze apart from killing Nadeshiko and giving us Super TaToBa. Maybe it would be best to leave them out

It's pretty obvious that they don't know what they're doing with Foundation X. Leaving them out would be for the best.

I actually think Phoenix is one of the best Sentai villains ever. His total disregard for lives and ruthlessness at going after Haruto are what made him so badass. His final fight against Wizard felt like a season finale to me. It'd be nice if he can come back and provide a challenge to Haruto's Infinity form before the end of the show.

But he was badass in such a trite fashion, the archetypal by the numbers, ticking the boxes badass and that is why I found him so very boring. Plus Wizard really didn't provide the same emotional connection than other very similar characters and dynamics, like say Grimmjow and his dynamic with Ichigo in Bleach.
