Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Red Division Round 4
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Okay, so while we let Andros hose the blood off his boots from last round's slaughterfest, let's move on to a fight that may be a bit closer: Tommy vs. Aurico!

Nah, just kidding. :p

This round we're going to have a real throwdown that features not one, but two ninja Rangers:

The match will last for 48 hours, give or take, unless we end up at another 20-2 situation.

Will Rocky morph in time to pull off a victory? Will Hunter's Ranger form unleash a thunder storm upon his opponent? Which Ranger will reign supreme?

Hunter. He might not be a Red Ranger but neither was Rocky. One of the worst ever, and it was a joy when he got replaced.

It took me awhile to decide where to include Blake and Hunter. I ultimately decided to put them in their respective colors instead of in the Sixth pool because I felt they fit here better (and I didn't want half of the Ninja Storm cast in the same pool).

I'm giving it to Hunter (Also, during the "My parents are dead" bit, you named him Blake).

Rocky isn't inept, but he's not leader material and his fighting prowess, while expert level, just can't match up to Hunter.
That, and Hunter has a huge ass beetle cannon.

Hunter, hell he is better than Shane IMO but really, Rocky who? oh yea the guy that replaced Jason so Tommy could be leader.

Sorry. Not sure how I confused the underdeveloped motocross-obsessed Thunder Ranger with the underdeveloped motocross-obsessed Thunder Ranger. :(

Also to note, Rocky is the only ranger to get so badly injured that he had to be decommissioned from Ranger duty.

In fairness to Rocky, don't forget that before becoming a Ranger he was already training to be a ninja. Skill-wise that should put him in the same camp as Adam and Ais... as Adam. :p

Hunter, because at least he does something important to the story besides being hospitalized.

And becoming obsessed with a Pachiko machine. Pashiko? ... Japanese Pinball.

Def Hunter.Great weaponry,good leader skills(always considered him the leader of the beetle rangers),and a sweet mecha.Rocky....well he just disgraces the name and was a second hand replacement for Jason and was so bad when Zeo came out Tommy was like "No,I'm red.You've been demoted"lol

And wow, I'm legitimately surprised at all the Rocky hate. I mean, I'm not a fan either, but I assumed he'd get some props for being in MMPR.

In an episode of MMPR back when Rocky Dennis (Points for that Ref) was Blue and Tommy was the real Leader, Rocky became Obsessed with a Pichiko Machine sent by the Machine Empire. Or it might've been when he was Red. He spent the whole episode obsessively playing Japanese Pinball.

It was in MMPR season 2 - the monster was one of the Dairanger villains. It's kind of sad, but that's easily the one Rocky episode I remember the best.

It's the only Rocky episode I remember at all.

Well, it's the MMPR Rocky episode I remember best. I also remember the one from Zeo where he got jealous of Jason and decided to go mano-a-mano with King Mondo. But that's Blue Rocky, and he'll get his shot at this in due time.

Then he also got jealous when Jason came back as a Gold Ranger, and turned out to be a badass again... :p

When this is all over I'm tempted to take note of any Ranger who got 0 votes and hold a quick poll for least popular Power Ranger ever. :lol

damn i must be the only one who likes rocky better but sadly in a fight, he wont win. his arsenal doesnt compare.

also Switch, have you considered a megazord tournament for our ultimate team at the end?

Not really. We've got one of those in the Super Sentai forum right now. And this team just gets Gokaioh anyway, as per the concept.

Well it's lunchtime and this has been a total shut-out.

Rocky may not be hated, but he sure as heck ain't loved. Hunter moves on to the next stage, Rocky will get his second chance in the Blue tournament.

I really want to make a "Yo, Adrien!" joke here but I can't quite get down a phrasing that I like.

Eh, Rocky is a much better blue for obvious reasons :p
