Kyoryuger/Abaranger Compare!
 

Like always a thread got derailed :lol And turned into an arguement and great discussion, so now we have a thread just for it. Given how similar the two series' are Mech Wise it was only a matter of time before it happened anyway.

On one hand we have the Kyoryuger Voltasaurs. On the other we have Abaranger's Aux Dino Mecha. Both become arms, both do it differently, and both have a seperate flying dinosaur that becomes it's own Mecha and combines with the others. That point just hit me as I'm writing this.

Personally, maybe it's because of how much I love the series, but the Voltasaurs are better. They just seem to have more personality than the Abaranger Dinos. They do more. The Aba's just fold up their legs and snap on. The Voltasaurs have Batteries, something happens. Not much happens, I'll grant you. But it's alot more than Abaranger. For one thing she isn't useless. Aba Red and Blue can, and have, combined their Dinos to form a form of Aba-Oh without any help from Yellow. While the team can form Kyoryujin without Pink, she does more than just become a chest plate and a helmet. Or some weird oddly shaped boomerang. And I appreciate that. Always bothered me in Zyuranger/Mighty Morphin'. And alot of series' that followed to. About how useless the female rangers/sentai's mech seemed to be. Dairanger's was only a belt, for example.

It would be a lot easier to compare if Abaranger was subbed and available.

HINT HINT for any editors/encoders checking out this place. ;)

I know. But I figured enough people have seen Dino Thunder to have a reference point for how they looked and connected. Least that was my hope :lol

Ptera might not add much to Abaren-O, but at least Abaranger didn't leave two characters in the thrash for Abaren-O.

EDIT: You know, "sentai" isn't a word that means a single warrior. It means a group, or squadron, of warriors.

Don't use sentai for ranger. Use senshi.

Or need a Sixth Ranger to come along for them to combine with something. I'll concede that.

I dislike both! :D

But that's not the point. The Kyoryuger's mechs are stronger than Abarangers, but it really doesn't feel by much.

And as for female rangers getting the unimportant zords...Yeah. Kind of sucks. ShinkenPink and Yellow sat in the back and did nothing for Samurai Ha-Oh, HurricaneBlue is delegated to a shoulder cannon for all combinations beyond the primary one, DekaYellow and Pink were shoulder pads for Super Dekaranger Robo, hell, MagiPink formed 1/3 of MagiKing's chest plate.

Does suck. I enjoyed HurricaneBlue's Dolphin. I'd never seen Liveman, so that was my first time seeing a Dolphin mech when it premiered on Ninja Storm. But, though not by much, a Cannon is less useless than shoulderpads.

Based on AbareKiller & Burai before him... I'm guessing KyoryuGold's doomed.

Technically speaking, isn't he already dead?

Kyoryugold isn't actually dead though since he's just been thought to be dead for 500 years. He's just imprisoned within Dogold but he'll be released or "revived" next week. He's living it's just that he's been trapped all this time. In fact he can't have been dead because they needed him in order for Dogold to Brave In with PteraidenOh.

Abarakiller died. Straight up died. He only returned later in Dekaranger Vs. Abaranger because the villains were trying to raise the strongest denizen of hell. They were trying to raise Dezmozoria from Abaranger but didn't realize that the truly most powerful spirit in hell was Abarekiller. He came back, kicked ass with Topgaler and then he returned to being a spirit after the crossover ended.

Burai died and returned as a ghost once in the finale to support the Zyurangers. And that was only because of a massive letter writing campaign by fans of the show to bring him back.

In summary. Yes. The last 2 dino themed 6th's died. And even Time Fire, who had an underlying dino theme and dino mech died. But I don't feel that means Kyoryugold will die. This show is far too light hearted for that, and we just had a gold die last season, Beet Buster :(

what is with them killing sentai off all the time? its kind getting overdone and overplayed.

Yeah that might suck horribly.

I didn't even consider this at all, I was so drawn into Kyoryuger light heartiness that I totally forgot that 6th dino rangers have a streak of dieing...And Beet Buster fate was well..never mind.

It hasn't happened that many times when you think about it. It's just the dino ones that tend to be unlucky.

I have no problems with them killing characters off any way, these teams are essentially fighting wars and having a hero die goes to show that not everyone gets out unscathed.

Can't see it happening in Kyoryuger though.

Hate to say it, but we already have dead heroes. Ramirez died, so I guess thats what they came up ith so they wouldn't have to kill off KyroyuGold.
