Forecasting Kyoruger S.H. Figuart (Speculation only!)
 

Been hanging out in the Kyoruger forum and the Ep. 9 thread touched on how badly we're gonna be screwed when it comes to S.H. Figuarts Kyoruger figures.

We haven't seen any previews of these, have we? I have to re-watch the Akibaranger Season 1, Episode 2 and dig through some Tamashii exhibits threads, but I don't think Bandai has shown them off.

I am hoping they use a body with independent an upper bicep swivel, some of the recent ones just use a double ball-socket at the shoulder to achieve arm articulation don't really work for me. Since the Kyuranger suits don't have any stripes or patterns that would be interrupted by a cut for an upper bicep swivel, it shouldn't look out of place.

As for as accessories, at minimum Bandai should include:
- hands to pose them in all of their roll-call poses
- Gaburevolver
- Gabucaliber
- Gabucannon
- extra, armored right arm for "Armed On" mode
- individual weapon (shield, spike, blade, whatever etc) that can be combined
- a bunch of batteries and holders

First run bonus:
- stage that each ranger stands on while inside the mecha (like the Gokai Darins).

Would be nice but doubtful:
- translucent energy effects parts to simulate energy attacks/weapons firing

Releases:
Well, we'd all want all the rangers to be regular releases, but you know Bandai's gonna F- us. Best case scenario, we get Red, Black, and Green as regular releases, with Blue, Pink, and Torin as the quickest Tamashii Web Exclusives.

Maybe we get future Rangers (Cyan, Gold) and Deboss as full figures as Tamashii web exclusives, plus some Figuarts Zeros of the bad guys.

Any power ups (Red Carnival) for Red will probably be regular releases, with other colors being web exclusives. Bummer.

Maybe Bandai will surprise us and do two-packs of Green/Black and Blue/Pink as regular release?

I'd want them to have fully realized MoBuckles too. With open mode and a detached piece for the individual phone mode.

The Jyudenchi that aren't attached to a particular Kyoryuger will be interesting. Will they go with the Kyoryuger that's sorta similar to their dinosaur(Allomeras with Red, Stymero with Pink, etc.), or perhaps the Kyoryuger that dances to their verse in the ending? Maybe, I could see them releasing them in sets like the modules, but with batteries instead of switches, and energy effects(?) instead of modules.

I wouldn't hold my breath for batteries. I seriously don't want another SHF Fourze switches on my hands.

I think the Armed On arm would be a bit much, but it's always possible to be included. Though it'd probably be attached through pegs, rather than replacing the arm entirely.

It would be neat to get their stands, but, once again, I think that's asking much.

Knowing Bandai they'll release a web accessory replacement arm pack

The Buckle wouldn't be hard to make swivel for open, and closed, modes. It would just be a simple peg. Which you'd need to take it on and off. Personally I would want King to come with two Gaburevolvers. One that's colored and one that's not.

I don't understand Bandai at all. They took 6 months to get us Wizard Figuarts. Like 8 months to do Red Buster. There is no excuse why the main rider form and red ranger should not be out the same week a new show hits the airwaves. Wizard Flame Style should have been out back in Sept while KyoryuRed should have been out no later than a month ago.

Ask for that and we get figures like OOO.

They probably do this to let the audience get used to the characters first. Like the several reds before him, KyoryuRed should be out this September.

At the very least, I expect a Gaburevolver, Gaburicaliber, and the combined form along with the usual hands. Anything else would be nice, but not absolutely necessary. Of course, I do like the Kyoryugers enough to complete the set. Because I'm insane.

All of the toku shows are basically commercials, thats why we have secondary riders, powered up forms, multiple weapons, movie specials, etc.

Imagine if we had Kyoryuger toys but no show. We'd still be laughing at how funky the red tyranno's feet look. Instead, the dancing cast has won our hearts over and we're all gonna pre-order Kyoryurger Red as soon as it gets up.

I didn't like Wizard in photos when it was first shown, but after seeing him in motion, I picked him up.

...So, what your saying is that you'd like Bandai to rush the production of the FUCKING COLLECTOR ORIENTATED LINE, just so they can be on shelves when the show starts? Do you know what fucking happened the last time they did that? We got the OOO Figuarts. Do you REALLY want more Figuarts to end up like that?

Oh, and here's the BIG THING that you missed, since Figuarts are a line SOLELY aimed at collectors, it DOESN'T matter when they come out. Parents aren't buying Figuarts for their kids, they're buying the "budget lines" like WAP! or the Sentai Vinyl Heroes for them; hence why those lines start very close to when the show starts.

But of course, you skipped over that little detail so you could once again show off just how dumb and ignorant you are.

It's not that Bandai is "F-ing" us, it's because Figuarts aren't purchased as far and wide as the other toy lines are. Usually, non exclusives are the fan-favorites/sixths and from there, they release the remainders in limited quantities so they don't shelfwarm. Figuarts are expensive to make, and I'm very certain Bandai doesn't want money just sitting there, on a shelf and that money not able to be returned to them.

It's a testing bed to see how well the show does before they break out the "big guns." Look at Gosei Knight. Prime example. Everyone loved him, but the majority of the viewers (those that matter, ie: those that would buy Figuarts, not children or their parents) wasn't exactly too keen on the rest of the team. Even here, I see people who enjoy Goseiger generally think that Gosei Knight is their favorite of all of them, even if they did find Goseiger enjoyable.

Why put out a toy if it's going to warm a shelf? See above. :)

You're absolutely correct, but your tone is horrible. You could have said the same thing without coming across as insulting.

Also, I'd like to point out that "dumb" (being stupid) and "ignorant" (a lack of knowledge) are not the same things in any light. In this case, ignorance is what you're looking for, and not stupidity. Ignorance should never be used in a negative tone either, because ignorance is just not knowing. So to sum it up, you're ignorance on ignorance is appalling, and I think it's "stupid" to insult someone over the internet for simple lack of just not knowing.

Personally, i see these figures coming with the gun, sword and combined mode (afterall, go-busters did). I dont see the arm swap being included, or the megazord plinth, but theres always a chance it could come as a first run incentive.

Its a controversial issue how bandai handle the release schedule, but they have a schedule and id rather see the cost of a team spread out over months/years as im already buying several figures a month, plus all the other lines i collect

In all seriousness though, there are toys on the shelves when the series debut like the Sofubis and the stuff like the Rider gimmick toys(currently WAP). The collector stuff comes after to give that a chance to sell and they can gauge interest on characters/forms.

Anyway, my guess is that everyone that isn't Red will be exclusive. Because of how Gokaiger and Go-Busters went will cause Bandai to release stuff under a fallacy that anyone who isn't Red won't sell.

They don't have to rush anything. They should just have the first Figuart in time for the show's launch. I mean, it isn't like Toei comes up with the designs a week before it airs.

All of Bandai's resources for a new Sentai show probably goes into making sure that the initial meat of next year's Sentai line is all perfected and ready to go before the show premiers. Getting a figure ready for ready for a Collector's oriented line, in a series that isn't seem to be selling well for Sentai releases is probably the furthest thing from the dev team's mind when a new Sentai series goes into planning, and quite frankly I don't mind the wait myself, it just means we hopefully won't have a repeat of Red Buster or OOO.

I still don't understand the problems people have with OOO, I love my TaToBa :lol. But again, gotta say what the others are saying, there is a reason it takes so long to create new toys. For example, the OOO line, were rumored to be in development the same time they designed the suits, hence why they all have that "button" on their back. You gotta remember it takes time to develop toys, to work out the kinks and to make sure everything is solid. No matter how long it takes to make a figuart, the people have to wait until the developers say it's ready to be released to the public.

It feels cheaper compared to Figuarts that came after it, especially if you compare it to the W releases. Mine is pretty loose and the head was so wobbly it may as well be a bobble head.

I guess I'm the odd one out, cause mine has tight joints but can still move around the way I want it to. I agree it does feel "cheaper," but I don't mind it

But if the show generates no interest, Bandai would have a shelf-warmer on their hands.

That's why Gosei Knight was created before Gosei Red.

Exactly, who would adult collectors rather get-

The red (subtly) dragon-themed kid appeal character or the dynamic silver lion-themed knight who was able to form his own Mecha?

Yeah, the switches were annoying. I think they're just better off have the batteries molded with the (brave in) hands.

As for the Armed On arm, they could release that, along with their weapon, as a preorder bonus. If they design the arms like the Gokaigers, then it should be an easy swap.

- Helmet (Red)
- Torso (Blue)
- Arms (Green)
- Legs (Black)
- Extra hands + Spirit Hammer effect (Pink)

I don't like build-a-figures. It may've just been a bad one, but I bought the MGS2 figures just for the BAF Metal Gear Ray.. and it was horrible.

It'll still be a SHF and you can't go wrong with that. Its a free figure if you plan on collecting the whole team. If you're not into Cyan, you can sell the parts or the whole figure and get some money back.

My guess for accessories:
Gaburevolver closed mode
Gaburicalibur
Zyudenchi
Alternate arm for Armed On silver parts (arm will be removable like Gokaiger Figuarts)
Each of individual Armed On

I don't really think they will make the Kyoryuzin individual cockpit base after Gokai Blue & Green shelfwarmed.

Pegs would leave visible holes in their arms for their regular forms, which is something they'd never do. If they include them, which I really hope they do, it will just be a swappable arm.

Their stands would make a great pre-order bonus, but I don't really see it happening, since after Gokaiger, it's unlikely we'll see a mass release for any of the characters besides Red and maybe Gold and I predict Blue and Pink will be a web exclusive two-pack with Green and Black following slightly later.

I also don't think we'll see Cyan or any of the other spirit rangers unless the other Kyoryuger guys prove really popular. Considering Beet and Stag, two main characters from the last show, weren't released at all, I don't think we should be assuming everything from a show will automatically be released. If they are, I think they'll continue the two-pack trend. Cyan and Gray, then Violet and Silver (assuming Silver doesn't join the team as a regular member).

I had a new idea: There will probably end up being an Armed On set after the series, which includes the zyudenchi arms we saw for KyoryuRed Carnival!

Re-watching Episodes 12 and 13:

From Episode 12These Figuarts must have some way of re-enacting the Kentrospiker launch, right on down to Blue, Green, Black, and Pink linking their arms for Red to springboard into the air and chuck the thing. Oh, and Gold must come with a Tamashi stand so it land the Zandar Thunder while riding the Kentrospiker.

There's always bound to be good build a figures,i.e. The Sentinel from the Marvel series.I have it and it's glorious.

Anyways,time to end the speculation.This link is a preorder for Kyoryured,and it seems it will have a replaceable arm for Armed On mode.Scroll to the bottom of the preorder and it lists all accessories.
