Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Red Quarter-finals Round 5
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Argh,such a hard choice.Two of the best from the Disney era....I'm waiting to see how people stack them up side by side before I make my choice.

I guess in a fight,Conner.Leadership wise,Jack.So I guess Conner since its a fight.

jack. gotta go with future tech and they are fairly evenly matched as far as powerups go. swat trumps super dino, but Triassic may trump Jack's battleizer. either way i expect jack to take advantage of his firearms from a distance.

Connor. I would say out of the two, he would beat Jack

Both of these seasons are pretty overrated in my opinion but Conner is my favourite, loveable asshole. Oh no that came out wrong...

Going to have to go with Jack. Sure Conner was the Red in Dino Thunder but it's hard being the team leader when Tommy is on the team. He did step up to the plate though when Tommy was indisposed, I'll give him that.

Jack's tech is 20+ years more advanced so I think that would be able to give him the edge. Yes Conner has go-go-gadget arms, but I think the power of flight + powerful long ranger attacks will push Jack over the edge.

Jack.
From a base position, it's bringing a staff to a gunfight.
From a general position, Jack's technology is from the future and is far more advanced and superior.
From a power up position, Jack can fly.

Sure, Connor has more power ups, but Jack is just better overall.

Wouldn't Conner just use his battlizer stretch arms or just take Jack to the other dimension and render his powers useless?

Implying Jack just can't open fire at the ever growing target that is Connor.

I really can't see a scenario where Connor wins that doesn't rely on Jack literally not doing anything.

Connor's Battlizer doesn't have a leather codpiece.

Plus, the accordion arms are kinda cool.

To be fair, those stupid flappy shoulder pads are stupid. Oh man I totally saw the misspelling in the poll and copied it, I'm so embarrassed.

Still, even if ConnOr loses, I still like him way more as a character, tracky bottoms and all.

I figure Jack is smart enough to outmaneuver the stretch arms. I picture Jack intentionally flying in close and around Conner to get his arms tangled up. It's kind of a cliche scenario, but it would more than likely come up.

Up close Connor had the Super Fire Kick Thing though, plus lasers and he can also fly in Battlizer mode.

Got to go with Connor, sure he had Tommy, but Jack had Doggie in the field at times too. And not going to lie, I didn't like Jack.

While I don't have an issue with Connor beating Jack, I will be kind of peeved if Connor, so stupid he doesn't know which of the color coordinated motorcycles was his, wins the Red Ranger poll because he has a lot of power ups.

my vote does to Conner. To me he got a lot more Character development then Jack did.

This feels like one of the closest matchups there's been so far in the arsenal department, but Jack far outclasses Connor in skill and most importantly brains.

EDIT: Also, has grack/bleen ranger been an intentional thing all the way through? I just noticed it :lol

Conner may be a little lacking in the intelligence side however he stayed a ranger and didn't quit being one.

And Jack did?
He quit when his duty was done. He also quit to do what he considered a better cause. SPD wasn't a group of 5 people, it was a galactic police force. They weren't going to miss one person.

I like Sky from SPD was better, and I never liked Jack from SPD. I didn't like that he quit but also I never thought he should have been a ranger. Also I like the Green Lantern Corps, a similar Galactic Police Force that one person can make a huge difference for.

But the fact they eventually stop being rangers doesn't make one character better than another.

Jason, Zack, Trini, Billy, Aisha, Kimberly, Adam, Rocky, Kat, Tanya and even Tommy all quit at some stage. That doesn't make them any less of a ranger.

According to the DT/SPD crossover, Connor quits too.

Is it wrong to vote for Connor because he had the better upgraded form? If so I don't want to be right. Triassic Ranger > Cyber Mode... although Sonic Mode > Triassic Battlizer. Triassic Ranger still gets my vote.

I don't think he quit. As far as I can remember, the Dino Gems were destroyed at the end of DT. For my vote, I'm going with Jack. I just think he can beat Connor. Plus he has a dog for a battilizer. How can you not love that!

And when presented with the opportunity to continue, he was told that he starts a soccer camp and he immediately drops the chance to become a Ranger.

Jack and Connor had the exact same tenure as Rangers, but Jack's departure is looked down upon because his powers weren't destroyed?

I'll take battle thong over Stretch Armstrong anyday.

Jack had every right to leave. The deal was he became a Ranger in lieu of jail time. He's done his job and done it well. He earned his right to leave.

I just didn't like Jack from the first episode and he never grew on me. However Sky and Bridge as SPD Red I'd have a tougher choice against Conner. I also think the Dinosaur power would overall be stronger than the SPD tech.

This is a tough one, but I am going to have to go with Jack.

Looks like Conner takes this one, moving him on to the sem-finals. The next round will be up once I figure out how exactly I want to whittle five characters down to two.

Do what I do. Special Round! Bring back someone who lost in an earlier round, but had alot of votes.
