He was the Red Ranger I forgot all about.

EDIT: Oh, Rocky! I'm okay with that. I didn't care when he wasn't in Forever Red and I don't care now. :lol

Fair enough! If they're gonna stinge out, then he shouldn't bother going.

It's a shame, I would've preferred Rocky over Jason any day.

This saddens me because I thought Steve was more about the fans than what he just showed. I understand he has a business to run, but the fans WANT to see old Rangers appear, they WANT to see them even if it's just for an episode, even if it's just a walk-on appearance (like Skull in Samurai's ending).

I give him props for being honest, but when it comes down to it, for Steve Cardenas, it apparently really is about the money and not the fans.

Any past rangers except Samuell Benta (OO Black), of course :p

That was the rumored problem with Forever Red too. Surprise, the fandom got something right about Forever Red!

meeting him in august is gonna be a bit awkward.

It really raises the question on the whole story about "not being able to get a hold of him" during Forever Red. Not calling him a liar, but it really does open up the question of "Did he change #'s? Or did he just choose not to answer his phone because he knew he wouldn't get paid what he thought he deserved?"

As said, he has a business to run and if Saban is stinging out and not giving him enough money to justify leaving it for a background role, then that's fair enough.
All this "not about the fans" stuff is really unfair. You cannot expect people to come back to a non-union company that has quite the level of notoriety from the various insight we've gotten from the actors that left the show, when the actors themselves have built lives and likely have people like employees depending on them when Saban is being a cheap-ass. Blame Saban, not some misaimed "about the money", if Saban was "about the fans" or even cared about the people they're bringing back, they'd give them a justifiable amount of money for the effort.

Meh, he is still a greedy loser and we don't need his kind stinking up the joint.

How is it unfair?

I think my point that I'm failing to make is we see these people at conventions.

"I love the fans! I love being a part of Power Rangers history! If things were done right, I'd totally come back! You guys are the reason we're here!"

And so when they're given that opportunity from Saban Brands to come back we get:

"It's not enough money to justify going."

And I think people just rage a little harder when the reason is stated: "It's about the money. But don't blame me - blame Saban for being too cheap to give me what I think I'm worth".

And then the divide comes between Saban haters and people who think the actor/actress is being too greedy. I dunno. Steve's comment just rubbed me the wrong way.

I have no bias in this matter. If I was in a previous season of Power Rangers and I was asked to come back, I'd do it in a heartbeat (unless something important came up). However, I'm young, and I do not have to worry about money. Steve, on the other hand, has a business and employees to think about. These are people who rely on him for their livelihood. It would be a bit unfair to them if he traipsed off to New Zealand to parade around a quarry in spandex. That doesn't make him a saint, though—money does play a role. If offered a proper amount, he probably wouldn't feel so badly about leaving. Really, both sides are to blame for Rocky not appearing out of suit.

Either that or this is just an NDA tactic.
