Confirmed - Rhett Fisher Denied Cameo on Super Megaforce Due to Budget Constraints

Rhett Fisher, better known as Ryan the Titanium Ranger in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, was invited for a cameo role in the upcoming Power Rangers Super Megaforce season. However, due to apparent budget constraints, Saban Brands rescinded their invitation, and Rhett Fisher will no longer be appearing in Super Megaforce.

This is a devastating blow to a lot of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue fans, as the Titanium Ranger was the first USA-exclusive Power Ranger, and many wondered if the suit would make an appearance in Super Megaforce. Since the actor was uninvited, it leads us to believe the suit no longer exists.

How does this strike you? Did you want Rhett Fisher to be part of Super Megaforce? Could you care less? What's this say about Saban Brands and just how far, or how little, they're interested in going for this upcoming anniversary season?

A few things that bug me:

1) Here's a guy who WANTS to come back, WAS EXCITED TO COME BACK, yet Steve Cardenas REJECTS the offer because of the lack of money. Love how some actors can't get enough money to justify going, yet others are excited to (for probably even less) and then are told tough luck.

2) Does this mean there's others who are going to have their offers rescinded as well?

This sucks. This sucks a lot. I loved Rhett Fisher as Ryan.

C'mon saban! Don't do this to the titanium ranger! He's an american-made power ranger and he shouldn't be treated like this!

He was invited, and then, after 2 others rejected the call (Thus meaning that there's 2 more people who don't need to get paid) he was booted due to budget restraints?

I'm genuinely curious now. How much were they offering Steve and Erin? I'm gonna stop hating because the problems with pay have cut 3 characters now.

Well, we know that Steve and Erin reportedly turned it down due to relatively low offers from Saban. And now we know that Saban is rescinding offers to lower tier characters (I love Rhett/Ryan, I do, but let's face it ... he was around for like 10 episodes). Does this mean they under-estimated how many were interested in returning? Or did they blow all their money on "key cameos"?

When your reason for not having one actor show up is inverted in the same scenario by the same company, I think you have a problem.
I don't even care about Power Rangers, but this sucks. This guy wanted nothing more than to be a part of this anniversary. And when they offer it to two people who reject it, only for they to have to reject someone else, it really doesn't sit right.

You know how mad, Sentai was over at Robo-Knights maker over for Megaforce...? Well I am just that mad now, because of this news. The Titantum ranger was like the MMPR green ranger for me as a child. Ryan was a well done character back in Lightspeed, and I'm just sad that he's not going to make a cameo.

Let's create a "Save Titanium" page, make sure it's linked to Saban. Rhett Fisher deserves to go be on Super Megaforce!

Someone suggested a Kickstarter to get Erin Cahill in Super Megaforce. At this point, we'll need a Kickstarter for every single possibly returning actor.

Considering he was a unique Power Rangers only Ranger, I am extremely disappointed he won't be included. If Super Megaforce is supposed to be a celebration of all things Power Rangers surely the Titanium Ranger is the first thing you include.

Titanium was the most gutsy and admirable thing Saban did in their first run: create an exclusive Ranger.
That alone should make Titanium as guaranteed as Jason David Frank.

Also, if Super Megaforce doesn't have Tommy appear, Tokunation, Rangerboard, Henshin Justice Unlimited and every other Power Rangers forum shall cry out so loud that all of the Internet shall know our anguish.

I don't think people would be THAT up in arms. I love JDF and think he's honestly the cornerstone of Power Rangers and continues to connect old fans to new fans. But seeing as he was around for 6 seasons and cameo'd in a 7th, he's been in 1/3rd of the entire series. I want him in the show, but not to the point that I'd protest it if he's left out.

Saban would be stupid if they left him out though.

It sucks, honestly. I loved his story in Lightspeed, and he was a decent character.

Part of me hopes we might see the return of Lord Zedd somehow still.

Rita lives in a pure white dimension of Good Magic. Zedd probably commands an entire precinct of Space Patrol Delta.

Aww, that's rather lame. I was fond of the Titanium Ranger as a kid, so it's a shame I won't see his actor returning.

I say replace one of the three Samurai rangers they invited with Titanium.

Most of Rangerboard is tired of Tommy, as am I. While I agree with Kickback in that it would be pretty stupid to not include him, I wouldn't care if he wasn't.

A lone Wild Force Black costume was seen on a set. This could mean something, it could not.

Ooh, how about you drop Samuell Benta, because he's a terrible person, and replace Will with the Sentinel Knight, followed by making Chip the representative of Mystic Force. That way, Nic Sampson will reprise two roles and save Saban money and let us have Rhett show up.

In fact, JDF shows his love of Power Rangers and it's fans so much that he learned about this, he might even deny pay from Saban to increse casting funds along with paying out of pocket to help get Rhett to New Zealand somehow. Wishful thinking, I know, but still.

seriously, the titanium ranger was awesome, and if this is the 20th anniversary of the power rangers, they NEED to have the first original americian only power ranger in it

I very much doubt that. It's nice on paper to say "$1!", but its another thing entirely to actually appear for free. I think he just likes people liking him, hence why he said it. JDF isn't the Second Coming.

Saban are such ridiculous cheap-asses. So pathetic. There's a problem when they're half-assing such a hyped anniversary. You'd think this'd be the one time they loosen their wallets and then we'd have Jen, Ryan and Rocky back. But no, cheap Saban is cheap Saban.

Wow you wood that Saban will have saved some money here & there over the past 2 or 3 years just for all of this. Super Megaforce is starting to become a let down.

I'm not sure you understand how it works. Saban isn't going to go bankrupt from this. Every season has a budget and a few have gone over budget. It's what is willing to be spent on everything for the season. That money is supplied by Toei, his entertainment group and Nick for the licensing rights.

Saban has the money himself, but being a tightwad, he most likely won't put much, if any, of his own money to "make it happen."

Of course, people will be upset that Saban isn't doing what he can for the fans, but as long as he makes money, and he will, even if this doesn't meet the fans expectations (and it won't, regardless, as we have the bitchiest fandom I've ever seen).

The man is a genius as far as business goes. He's been doing it forever, and he knows what he's doing. He's not going to change his formula when the primary demographic will still tune in anyway.
