Which Super Sentai series should they adapt as the next Power Rangers?
 

Do you think Saban should keep the tradition of not skipping any years and adapt Goseiger? Should they skip Goseiger and simply adapt Gokaiger? Or should they try another series, say, Go-busters or another older season?

Believe it or not, I'd prefer to see them try adapting Goseiger first. I'd have hoped that they have learned from Samurai and give us a different story much like RPM, Space or Lost Galaxy did. This hope comes from the assumption that they probably can't use the angels theme.

What do you think?

I'd like to see them go crazy and have two teams running about for the 20th anniversary :p

But since that'll probably never happen, I want to see a Goseiger adaptation. The aesthetic for the series was great, and I think with the right amount of changes it could be a very promising Power Rangers series.

I say Gokaiger because it is the 35th anniversary for Japan and it would make a great 20th anniversary for US.

Goseiger, mainly because Gokaiger would happen to make even less sense as a Power Rangers series if they didn't adapt Goseiger first, I think maybe they should just skip Gokaiger if any series. Don't get me wrong, I think Gokaiger is awesome! But since it had alot of Characters from Sentai series that never got Power Ranger adaptions, and them changing into all the previous 34 Ranger teams doesn't help either, it wouldn't make much sense in Power Rangers.

I say Goseiger because Saban would have to do a lot to screw it up even worse :lol (and I liked Goseiger, but it wasn't strong).

Seriously, though, it sounds like they're going to just skip Goseiger and go straight to Gokaiger and, honestly, it makes sense. Goseiger wasn't that well received and the angel gimmick would take a lot of creativity to work around (plus the morpher is shit). Gokaiger has been a huge hit with the American fans, though, and a version with the non-PR suits taken out will be the perfect way to celebrate Power Rangers' 20th anniversary. The Ranger Keys are a nice piece of collectable merchandise, too, which BOA will undoubtedly love (even after they strip the Mobirates down as much as possible).

I picked Gokaiger but I would like to see what Saban does with Goseiger. Besides 2013 would be Saban anniversary also, so Gokaiger is only natural. But the HAVE TO got returning actors, none of the "I can't unmorph, voice over" crap :/

I'd like it if they were to adapt Goseiger. The designs and themes are ambiguous enough to give them freedom to work. Plus, there wouldn't be any forced "way of the Samurai" sort of thing that's going on with this season.

Saban isn't going to lose out on any money. Goseiger will be after samurai.

Having been transformed into Ranger keys, the past Power Rangers can no longer morph back into their civilian forms! It is up to Power Rangers Pirate Armada to gain the greatest treasure in the universe to morph them back! :D

Right, there's a lot of potential in the suit designs, mecha, etc. to be creative. Plus, adapting Goseiger would force them to abandon the angel theme for sensitive reasons, so it would more or less force them to be at least a little bit creative.

Gokaiger's a pretty epic series, it would be very ambitious to adapt it. If they're going for Gokaiger, let's hope that Saban has paid for a better production team.

They should do Goseiger first to eliminate as many problems witht the lack of the pre-Zyurangers as possible because Gokaiger uses Goseiger a lot and ther is the 199 movie.

Hopefully they will use the extra time to film original footage for Gokaiger as well

I'd want to see Gokaiger before Goseiger. Just so it fits the anniversary. It would force them to make even more new footage though. That could be a bad or good thing.

So when they do turn back from keys, they'll just disappear to avoid using past actors? And the Rangers character growth was all from meting past heroes. In all seriousness, kinda defeats the purpose of an anniversary when you can't celebrate it with the people that helped created it. Might as well run a marathon of the old shows then. LOL!

While I'm curious as to how the adaption of Goseiger would work, I'm also scared out of my wits that we'd end up with an even MORE horrible season of Power Rangers than Goseiger was for Sentai.

I'd like Gokaiger, just because it's the 20th anniversary of Power Rangers and it just seems so fitting to adapt the anniversary series and re-shoot the hell out of things, actually make it interesting and unique.

You're right of course. I'm just jokingly predicting a worst-case scenario based on their Samurai-RPM team-up movie.

I don't see how they'll be able to translate GoKaiger over here without completely mangling it. Since GoSeiger has no fan base, why not monkey around with it, see what you can do with a new storyline.

Saban doesn't care about the adult PR fan base. He knows adult fans will buy the toys. The show itself is for young kids. Samurai is proof of this. Goseiger also has quite a huge fanbase. I am not sure where you got that it doesn't.

I see no Goseiger fanbase in the english speaking world. I have never heard anything good about it from any source outside the faint praise of 'suit designs are interesting'.

Now, a japanese fanbase, I can't speak to at all and never meant to imply that I did. Apologies for the misconception.

There is a fanbase of it. Not all fans spend time discussing what they like on forums. I spend time on irc and other places, and it has it's fans. You can also find fans of it on other big forum sites. I don't waste my time hating on any toku. If it's so bad I just can't bring myself to find anything good about it, I watch something else. I will never understand the preoccupation of spending time hating on any show like this. That;s just me though.

Eh, not really. All Saban would have to do is just not use that footage, much like they won't use footage of Denjiman, Changeman, Dairanger, etc.

If they did adapt Gokaiger (next or not) without removing the 15 older teams, that would instantly be 15 more sets to sell if they COULD make them cool ind exciting.

It's rough.Goseiger would be a tough choice cause it involves "angels",and we know how american tv is about that so who knows how they'd butcher the plot to make it work.But worse yet is Gokaiger.I really wanna see it,but how is Saban gonna explain the older rangers that they turn into? The problem with that is they (saban) is well known for using the original fight scenes.Some of the fights in gokaiger,heck some of the episodes,are based just on the older teams.Sure they could introduce them,but then the american market would want toys,tv shows and everything else about them to come out,and if that happens well you can kiss the newer series goodbye for a while.lol.it's gonna be rough.Course they'll prob do goseiger first and instead of angels call them aliens.lol

What do you mean by original fight scenes? 95% of Samurais in suit fights is just sentai footage.

I misworded it.I meant the original sentai fighting footage.I remember watching the first episode of power rangers samurai to see how they adapted it and was like "yup,seen that fight before".Which means if they do gokaiger,how will they do the fights involving the early sentai series? How will they explain it or will they just cut it out?

Saban owns the rights to have footage for all sentai series in the US. He could simply do this: "You are also getting the power keys for the rangers from other dimensions, planets, and the future." there we go. :)

You got anything legit about that, or just a fan site that appears to be making stuff up? I'm sorry but it's easy to claim things with out backing them up. Sites like jefusion and rangerboard make up "news" all the time. People believe it, and it starts to spread like it's fact.

That news apparently came from an interview in the latest issue of Hyper Hobby magazine, but I've yet to see any actual translations of the interview other than sites spreading the fact it 'apparently' says Toei are doing it.

True,or different nations.lol.Would be a little easier then explaining goseigers storyline.they'd have to rework it pretty well.My guess is that even theough they're called angels,they do have tribes.so maybe make them an ancient culture instead of angels.Both have a chance,just like pirates more,and my previous argument of pirates and ninjas working together.lol

Another way to fix the Gokaiger problem. Remember the Power Rangers: Super Legends video game? Use time travel to have Green Ranger - Tommy and Black Ranger - Tommy in the same place at the same time, that could be applied to anything they need.

I find it interesting that they'd take the time to even shoot the Ranger War. for as Copy/pasta as PR has gotten over the recent years they still do Ep. 1 & Final Ep. pretty Sentai free.

I voted for Goseiger just because I would like to see what they do with it. With Gokaiger, we can pretty much assume what we are going to get, but Goseiger will require some creativity. Also, I don't want Saban to skip a year like they did with half of Dairanger. :P
