Are Abaranger and Hurricanger Worth Watching?
 

I've been wanting to pick these up to see the counterparts to Dino Thunder and Ninja Storm, but I just never really got around to it. Will anyone offer any details on these series without spoiling anything? o:

Well I know Harorangers is subbing Hurricanger but they're only like 3 episodes in. And Midnight Crew has a few odd episodes of Abaranger. But really that's about it right now.

They are if you can speak Japanese :lol

Otherwise you're in for a long wait to see subtitles :(

Hurriecanger has been subbed, and it is worth watching. As for abreranger I'm not if it's worth a watch or not.

I really want to watch them as well. Hurricaneger isn't fully subbed anywhere. I found Abaranger subbed once but the quality was TERRIBLE.

Pretty sure you can find Hong Kong subs of these series on Ebay.

I'm pretty sure there are HK subs of Abaranger floating around too (if I remember my previous trips to Super Sentai Planet rightly). Doesn't necessarily mean they're good subs though.

Hurricanger got an Excellent HK sub about 10 years back.... I have them but for the life of me I've not idea how to share. As for the series itself, it's no secret I consider it to be one of the all time greats.

As for Abaranger. typical horrible HK subs exist....but the series itself is an odd thing. Asuka...Abareblacks story, which runs through the entire series is DARK AS HELL!!!! seriously it is Horrifying the things this man endures before and during the series....but the offset that...because it is a kid show, they thow the book at us in terms of goofiness and kids-stuff, to try to make sure no one noticed. so for every Abarekiller fight we get, we get a Telephone/Crocodile Butler scene too.

Why do Sentai series subs either have the sub-par HK subs or take ages to get completed?

Ive tried watching hurri witg HK subs and the subs were terrible, horrbly mistimed and terrible quality

then we must have diffrent subs, granted my DVDs are 10 years old, and I would hardly call then perfect subs, by the timing is good, the grammer works, and the story makes sense.

Better question: Is Hurricanger better than Ninja Storm? Because Ninja Storm was GODAWEFUL.

We should start our own sub group to remedy this problem. ...What? That's always the solution for a problem that nobody is filling, doing it yourself :lol.

AbaRanger is one of the best Sentai series of the 00s (Geki and Gokai are the other two). It does comedy well while having serious subplots, gives us a "sixth" ranger that never goes good unless it suits him, and the action is nicely done. Not every episode is amazing in the show, but the show did something different and pulled off the dino theme better than ZyuRanger.

Hurricanger is not terrible, but it didn't really attempt to do anything new. In fact, Toei pretty much just played it safe with this one. It has some great moments, but for the most part, the show is pretty forgettable. It is still worth watching though.

I really wish I could.
Ever since I had a mild complaint with the Abaranger subs taking decades and getting screamed at for it (Seriously, 6 episodes over the course of a year is kinda ridiculous...But apparently white knighting the group is the best course of action -3- ), I've wanted to learn a Japanese just to sub them...

Yeah, it is. I seen about a quarter of the series.

Well I do own the R2 DVDs, so I could provide the raws if need be.

I remember seeing the HK subs for one of the VS movies on youtube once upon a time. I can't wh remmeber ich VS movie, but I do remember that they were decent as far as a HK subs go.
