Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Yellow Division Quarter-Finals Round 1
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

And that Light is Kira Ford.

These are two of my all-time favorite Yellows. I think either of them could easily win this whole thing. It almost pains me to have to choose between them. That said, I have to go with Kira. She may not be as well trained, but she definitely has the power advantage and, god damn it, I really just love her as a character.

Taylor.

No one else is gonna vote for her and she already lost it because Dino Thunder gets a free ride, so fuck it.
Taylor is military. That alone gives her enough advantage in my eyes.

Both Connor and (Judging by statements made) Kira got a free ride. I also wouldn't be surprised if Trent got ahead in the 6th ranger category by virtue of coming from DT. Hell, I was legitimately surprised when Carter beat Connor.

You too? I kinda lost faith that we're voting for the best team,more the most popular.When I started seeing the "I voted for ______ cause I remember them and not the other.",that's when I lost faith.

Kira was such a great and fun character!

There are very few Rangers I'd vote for Trent over. Ethan... well, it would depend on who he's up against. And like I said, I hate having to choose between Kira and Taylor. I ultimately went with Kira because even though both can fly, I think Super Dino Mode gives Kira a big edge.

Honestly, I'm actually really surprised Kira is winning.

I'm not.
I had pretty much put my chips on the table that Connor, Kira, and Ethan were gonna coast through with Popularity Power.

It'd be nothing short of a series of miracles for Kira to lose at this point.

And that Miracle's name is Gia.

At this point, she's the only one with any sort of chance to beat Kira.
And then you have to remember that Kira has more mass appeal than Gia by virtue of coming from a fan favorite series.

So if they have training in something beyond martial arts, such as Carter or Taylor, they should be the best person for the job?

No,but it does prove they're tougher as a person,and that they can handle certain problems.Taylor having the military training not only makes her tough,but a logical choice to be the partner for the Yellow Eagle.I'm glad Carter made it all the way cause he had training as a firefighter,which means he was saving lives before becoming a ranger.And even then,after becoming a red,he showed even more courage.

To me the best rangers are the ones who not only have decent training,but can fight to the best of their abilities and show courage and bravery beyond compare.Nothing against Kira,but most of her fighting skills come from the dino gem,not her natural ability.

Kira is probably the one Dino Thunder character I'll really back. She was definitely my stand out favourite of the show and probably my favourite yellow in general.

It would certainly be a close fight, but I think Kira may be able to slightly edge out Taylor.

I think I know how the fight would go. And Kira just brings more to the fight at hand.

Taylor brings.. a bad attitude?

I never thought I'd be voting for Kira but you actually paired her against someone I like even less.

Man, this is a tough matchup. Two strong, brave contenders right here. I have to go with Taylor, though, who wins on her Air Force training and leadership skills. When the chips are down, she's at her best.

But doesn't her Dino Gem give her some advantages in a fight? I mean when I think of this tournament, I think who can also win in a fight in battle, morphed and unmorphed. I know there are rangers who won't make it far because they aren't fan favorites just like the ones who will go far because they are. I think Kira has a good power set here.

Super Dino Mode is literally the only thing Kira has that puts her in advantage over Taylor.

And Taylor is still military. I'm pretty sure literal years of constant training edges out foam spikes.

Taylor's bad attitude is exactly why I wouldn't want her on the team, military background or not.

Not that Kira is much better, mind you, but at least I have the knowledge that she'll get out of her emo phase eventually. Or at least emo phase as written by a middle class white man who was probably on the varsity team in high school, in the early 1940s.

The only ranger I want to win from Dino Thunder is Tommy,and that's only cause he was a ranger 4 times before that and aged,what,10-15 years more and still was very kickass.

and i think im officially out of the yellow tournament. if people think kira beats taylor i have little faith left.

I had to vote for Kira. First of all, I adore Dino Thunder. Besides that, she is a great singer and an amazing fighter.

Never said she'd use it while morphed. She could use it before the fight, and disorient Taylor. Then Morph. And what military training? She was trained as a pilot not a ground soldier. So long as Kira stays out of a Mig, I think she'll be fine :lol

Withstanding multiple Gs, operating while disorientated, working under extreme pressures. Taylor is trained against Kira's sonic scream. :p

Your logic, it is terribly flawed. Taylor would have still underwent a lot of physical training if she was a pilot, perhaps even more so than ground forces.

As such, I vote Taylor.

I'm going for Taylor. Military badass against a high-school singer. It's already been said that Taylor would have to prove herself a warrior to get into the Air Force, whereas Kira got in because she thought a gem looked pretty (Extreme Exaggeration). Also, Taylor has a sword and an Armadillo "thing"

while its not a zord fight, taylor still as access to multiple crystals that give her different weapons

Which can't form their own Megazord. And Kira also has access to Aux Zords, but that's besides the point. None of these fights are about th Zords.

I don't think he was talking about the zords. In WF, each ranger had a weapon for their primary zord (eagle sword) and one for their secondary zord (Armadillo puck). The weapons are summoned by placing the appropriate crystal in the crystal saber.

Military training is pretty awesome, but it didn't save Taylor. Kira moves on to the semi-finals.
