1 Attachment(s)
well thanks to orends range web site we have news of Basco and ninjor on set of super megaforce
i will link the full article here http://www.orendsrange.com/2013/05/p...e-filming.html |
Ninjor only if they can get the original VA back. Because the VA was awesome obviously ;)
Basco? Not sure. Don't know how I feel about that. Wouldn't portray it in a way that makes me feel justified that they did the American counterpart justice. |

Not confident that that actually is Basco, seems like its a bit of a stretch. He doesn't appear to have his signature hat or anything, either. Deker's human mode costume was pretty much the exact same as Juzo's, so it'd surprise me if an adapted Basco lost his signature hat which appears on his emblem and "Ranger" mode.
I'm fine with no Basco in Super Megaforce, I loved him in Gokaiger, but I doubt current Power Rangers could ever pull off a flamboyant and eccentric but also wickedly evil character like Basco well at all, not to mention that with (yuck) Troy being in the Gokai Red suit, there will be no history between Basco and any of the rangers and one the most interesting part of his story (the rivalry) will be completely cut out, making him seem like a waste of time. Not to mention the fact that Basco worked in a 52 episode plot, but I very much doubt he'd be given a justifiable amount of screen-time in a 20 episode season that is also supposedly supposed to have tribute episodes as well as deal with the Zangyack. |
if by chance Ninjor is in Super Megaforce, how would they explain where he has been for so long? i can probably see it as he was protecting the power of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers or something along those lines.

And here I thought I was the only one who liked Ninjor's voice...Huh.
|
I like his voice too, very Dudley Dooright in nature. I do a pretty decent Dudley Dooright voice, so I imagine doing Ninjor wouldn't be too hard.
|
Yeah, Ninjor's voice is amazing. He's in the runming for my favprite PR 'extra hero' because of it.

For those who didn't see Gokaiger:
Captain Marvelous (GokaiRed) was part of the "Red Pirates", a group that included AkaRed (the 35th Anniversary Red Ranger) and Basco. They were searching the galaxy for the Ranger Keys to fight against Zangyack. Basco became corrupt and learned of great power with the Ranger Keys, and turned on AkaRed and Captain Marvelous. AkaRed was lost, presumed to have died, while Captain Marvelous managed to escape and eventually with the Gokaiger Ranger Keys, formed the Gokaigers. Basco reappears on Earth to hunt the Greatest Treasure in the Universe, which is what Marvelous and his gang are looking for. In a meeting to settle things once and for all between Basco and Marvelous, Basco reveals that AkaRed had been hiding things from Marvelous - specifically the existance of MORE Ranger Keys (all the 6th Ranger Keys). He is able to reanimate them as lifeless energy forms and they attack the Gokaigers (MMPR Green Ranger, Zeo Gold Ranger, Time Force Quantum Ranger, SPD Omega Ranger, Ninja Storm Samurai Ranger). The Gokaigers are able to defeat them and take the Ranger Keys ... only to reveal that Basco has collected *ALL* the 6th Ranger Keys, as they are defeated by MMPR White, In Space Silver, Dino Thunder White, Mystic Force Solaris Knight, Operation Overdrive Mercury, RPM Gold and Silver, Samurai Gold, and Megaforce Robo Knight. The Gokaigers eventually defeat ALL the 6th Rangers and get their keys. However, Basco reveals at the end that he has the Special Ranger Keys as well (Blue Senturion, Magna Defender, SPD Shadow, SPD Kat, Mystic Force Red Wolf Warrior, Jungle Fury Lion, Jungle Fury Chamelon, and Samurai Female Red). Basco goes on to continually battle the Gokaigers in an attempt to get the "Ultimate Power" of various Super Sentai teams (ie: SPD's ultimate power was an additional zord, etc.). Near the end of the series, Basco and Marvelous battle it out in one final battle (which was pretty freakin' amazing), and Basco is finally laid to rest, giving the Gokaigers the Ultimate Powers that Basco had taken, giving them the key to receive the Ultimate Treasure in the Universe. It was a great, GREAT side-story to the Zangyack invasion, and actually took the spotlight for a good chunk of the series as the Zangyack invasion became stale. Basco revealing his true form was an epic moment as he breaks Gokai Silver's arm in doing so. There's no way tobring Basco in the Super Megaforce and do the character justice. Because Troy isn't Captain Marvelous, and thus isn't a space pirate trying to find the greatest treasure in the universe, Basco would have to have a unique back-story as to why he has Ranger Keys and why he's trying to get more. It's important to note ... none of the "team of Ranger Keys" in Gosei's headquarters include 6th, 7th, or Special Ranger keys. So who knows. |
Fury Diamond confirmed that Basco was never intended to be in Super Megaforce:

Well...whether there's a Basco character or not, I hope Robo Knight's inclusion in this season means we'll be seing some extra heroes. I just really want Ninjor and the Magna Defender to show up, though from what little of Gokaiger I've seen, the former may be likely.
