Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Yellow Division Quarter-Finals Round 2
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Okay, let's continue with the quarter-finals. This time we're bookending the Zordon era with the first Yellow Ranger going up against the last Yellow to ever call the Command Center home.

After much debate in my head, I went with Ashley.

Agreed. Ashley has the better tech but Trini is probably the superior fighter. Decisions, decisions...

Wow this late in the game and there are still Rangers I don't care about in this.

I went with Trini, she is the better fighter and nostalgia.

Ashley was too busy with boys. Trini was focused on the mission.

Gave it some thought and decided on Trini. I feel she has far less votes than she deserves.

I voted Trini. It was probably the hardest choice for me to make but I decided on Trini because she is a well trained martial artist and all though Ashleys Tech may be more advanced I kinda remember ashley being a bit clutzy (might be wrong)but that was a big factor with who would be a better team option

I voted for Trini because, while I don't feel she's particularly stronger than Ashley, she had daggers and not a sling shot, and that makes her cooler.

I want to say wet t-shirt contest, but that's both incredibly objectifying and totally unbalanced in Ashley's favor. ;)

As it stands now, both will be moving on to the semi-finals and one of our remaining five quarter-finalists will get a bye this round. Unfortunately, this means we'll likely end up with a three-way final again. Stupid math.

I'd say maybe bring back someone from this round, wasn't there a Red who came back, Hunter I think. Do that with this round of the Yellows and add an extra semi-final round.
