Weekend Super Megaforce Update - Daniel Southworth, Cerina Vincent, Mike Chat
 

A few more details about possible cameos have surfaced since our last update and we've put them altogether in this update here! No new confirmations for appearances as of yet, but some fun and interesting details none the less!

Daniel Southworth, better known as Eric the Quantum Ranger in Power Rangers Time Force had a tweet that no one caught on to because it was so long ago - back in March to be exact. A fan asked him if Saban had wisked him away to a magical Ranger land ... to which Dan replied Nope, but they inquired. There have been no reports, rumors, or anything to cause speculation on whether or not Daniel Southworth would be returning.

Cerina Vincent, better known as Maya the Yellow Ranger in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy came out and stated she was invited to be a part of Super Megaforce. Her tweet is as follows: yes! I did get an invite to #supermegaforce ! Still working out the details but I hope to be a part of it! We know that Blake Foster was in a similar situation, and its speculated that Naika Burise was as well, with both now no longer attending. Hopefully details go through and Cerina Vincent can rejoin Danny Slavin from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy!

Finally, Mike Chat, better known as Chad the Blue Ranger from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue tweeted that production actually called him on the phone about Power Rangers Super Megaforce, as well as saying "working on it, we'll see!" when asked if he was going to be a part of the reunion.

Since I basically care about none of these except the Quantum Ranger, I'm just gonna hope I get to see Vincent in a nice skimpy outfit again.

If they can get Daniel Southworth/Eric back, then 100% confirmed I'll be watching Super Megaforce.

I hope to god that Eric comes back.

To be honest i wouldnt worry, they got away with only Abare Killer appearing to give Gai the powers. TIme Fire and Dragon Ranger were morphed and didnt speak.

while talking about trent, i hope kira and trent show up in the dino thunder tribute, although they werent a couple or maybe they will be in this episode, maybe kira can give emma the pink ranger dino key.

What Pink Dino Ranger?

Abaranger/Dino Thunder only had five rangers. When Gokaiger got to Abaranger, they had six. So this happened.

So if they have a Dino thunder tribute episode, they aren't going to use the Sentai footage? Well, I suppose they could always edit the "pink dino ranger" out, but that would leave one Megaforce Ranger with nothing to transform into.

The point is though, "Abare Pink" was in the sentai series Abareranger and made a return in Gokaiger. There never was a Pink Dino Thunder Ranger, so the joke, as well as the "tribute" would be completely lost.

Also... who said we're getting any sort of tribute episodes? Besides Jason Smith, I haven't heard anything else but cameo roles.

What about cameos? As lame as I'd thunk it'd be, thet could still have a tribute episode where they change into an old ranger team without a cameo. I mean, we've seen a pic of soneone in a Wild Force Black suit, if I'm not mistaken and we havent gotten any confirmation on any Wild Force cast member returning yet.

How is the AbarePink thing even an issue?

Here's the joke: There are 5 DT rangers, 6 Megaforce rangers. Poke fun at one guy/gal being left out. Boom. Instant laughs. Continue with episode.

I was just letting him know who AbarePink was. No idea why it became an issue.

Or have the plot of the episode revolve around the fact that Emma doesn't have a Dino Thunder Ranger Key, so she makes her own to morph with the team.

I guess it's just a touchy subject, I know it is for me, when people keep dragging sentai into Power Rangers conversations.

Sentai has no purpose or use in a conversation about Power Rangers, I don't get why people don't get this.

It, uh...it doesn't? I'm not sure that's entirely accurate.

Minus the footage they use for fights, Power Rangers has unique characters and at least unique spins on the sentai plots, if not entirely unique stories.

So constantly going on about what Gokaiger did, a celebration of an entirely different series, is completely irrelevant here.

Eh. Using the Sentai gives a footing for what PR could possibly do.

It's not really an issue per se, as much as it's a "why bother?" scenario. I mean, if there was a pink previously shown, I could see it.

And I do like the idea of changing into five members and leaving one out, or having maybe they all change into Dino Thunder but "Gokai" Pink changes into MMPR Pink Ranger as a joke.

We have to remember though, that we're only getting 20 episodes. Cramming stuff like past relationships, stuff that happened in Sentai but not Power Rangers and the like is just a pipedream at this point.

See that I can understand. The way you stated it before just kinda didn't make sense to me.

It just gets frustrating after a while, being a Power Ranger fan on the internet. All the 'cool kids' discover Sentai and then they run around every internet conversation about Power Rangers going on about how much the Sentai is better. It's just like give it a rest.

And if you look across a lot of the Super Megaforce discussion, there are all these people going on about how 'Gokaiger did this, Gokaiger did that' but Gokaiger and the celebration of Super Sentai has no relevance to a Power Rangers season celebrating Power Rangers legacy.

Even if that celebration seems non existent at this point.

To be fair, on a case by case basis, most Sentai do tend to be better than the PR equivalent, with only 3, possibly 4-6 series (Depending on your stance and opinion), being on par or superior to their Sentai counterpart.

The point isn't what is better, the point is is that it's okay to be a Power Rangers fan and have no interest in Super Sentai, they are separate shows, no one should make you feel like you have to watch the originals.

But with the way the elitist Sentai fans go on, it's like you're expected to pray to Sentai every night before you go to sleep. Why they put it on some weird pedestal I have no idea but it's annoying as all ass.

I understand that it can be annoying, trust me.
I'm just explaining why people exclaim one is better than the other.

While they are separate series with different stories and characters, comparisons will always (literally always) be drawn because they share footage. It's unfortunate, but inevitable unless you can manage to convince the internet otherwise.

Ironically, I've heard there are Japanese fans who put PR on a pedestal above Sentai. Dunno if its true or not, but...interesting bit of irony there.
