TokuNation.com Presents Your Top 20 Power Rangers Of All Time
 

This year, Power Rangers celebrates its 20th Anniversary, a milestone that not many properties or franchises accomplish. We here at TokuNation have decided to celebrate this milestone by spending 20 weeks celebrating your Top 20 Power Rangers!

Starting on Monday, June 3rd, we will spend a whole week posting news, information, galleries, etc., of each Power Ranger that you've chosen to be the Top 20 Power Rangers of All Time, starting with #20 and working our way up to #1. This is on top of our monthly series-appreciation, highlighted by our changing banner in the top right of your screen, as well as numerous galleries from that series.

All we ask is that each of you post your top 10 Power Rangers (#1 being your highest, #10 being your lowest). We have created a mathematical system that rivals most scientific equations (not really) that will determine the Top 20 (because it's unlikely that you will all pick the same 10 Power Rangers).

MMPR to me is on a golden standard itself, so I won't include any of the cast from those seasons. It's subjective, of course but these are my favorite rangers from the non-MMPR seasons. I'll list why for a couple, as most of these I'm listing are many fans favorites and need no real explanation.

TJ - Turbo/Space (Had some big shoes to fill in, and I felt he did well with what was given to him)
Mike - Lost Galaxy (Despite not an official ranger, he was the most memorable character from LG. Provided excellent non-red leadership)
Carter - Lightspeed Rescue
Jen/Wes - Time Force
Dustin - Ninja Storm
Conner/Ethan/Kira - Dino Thunder (Hard to choose one over the other, felt like they were all great.)
Bridge - SPD
Rose - Operation Overdrive (Weird choice, but this is mainly due to the fact, she was one of the few female rangers to be chosen for what her intelligence brought to the team, and actually remained relevant during the entire series.)
RJ - Jungle Fury
Ziggy - RPM

I think you missed mine.

In no particular order:

1. Wes, Timeforce Red. A committed and driven individual who grew out of his father's shadow and gave up everything to do what he thought was right.

2. Jen, Timeforce Pink. Likewise committed, a true leader who keeps her rank even after Wes grows into a more than suitable leader. Skilled and focused, but compassionate.

3. Eric, Quantum Ranger. He grew up with nothing, which makes him appreciate everything. However his opinions of those with comfortable lives who haven't had to work as hard as he has start off skewed, he realises that it's not how a person was raised, but who they are. This leads him and Wes, two very different people, to become true friends and a force to be reckoned with.

4. Dillion, Black RPM Ranger. A derelict drifter who was given a choice in a harsh, unforgiving world where nearly all the world is lost, and chose to help. Despite his troubles with his memory and finding out he's a cyborg, he never strays the path.

5. Scott, Red RPM Ranger. A soldier to the core, Scott was in the shadow of his fellow soldier and brother who died a soldier's death, an honour he strived to match in his fathers eyes. He did when he defeated nearly single-handly the greatest evil on Earth and saved the planet.

6. Tommy, whole fuckton of colours. Cool guy who doesn't afraid of much, can practically be his whole team with all his differnet powers and has put his life on the line more times than most.

7. Andros, Red Space Ranger. A warrior that led the charge that eliminated all evil from the universe preventing galactic destruction.

8. Flynn, Blue RPM Ranger. A hero who's greatest desire is to help everyone and everything he possibly can.

9. Carter, Lightspeed Red Ranger. God-damn Juggernaut who charges just about anyone who stands in his way. More impressively, this almost usually works.

10. Ryan, Titanium Ranger. Dude was a sleuth and a take-action guy. The Lightspeed rangers were a response team, and needed to be ready to respond, so it was up to Ryan to go off and do while the others focused on defending and protecting.

A few things about the voting while we're already at it:

1. Nostalgia Critic gags aren't going to get more than ten Rangers counted for your tally. ;) If you want to do it, whatever floats your boat, just be aware. If you choose to do less than ten, no harm either way, but if you're going to do nine...

2. All choices are ranked for the purposes of creating the final tally. Several of you have made your choices in no particular order, but they're going to be counted in the particular order you wrote. You may want to revise your lists in that case.

3. There is no Ranger that has to be excluded from your top ten. If you want to for some reason, alright, but keep in mind your choices are all-encompassing.

Ok, that last one needs a bit of explaining. Bulk and Skull were comedy characters. Originally made out to be bullies the two of them grew and changed as the shows went on. It could be argued that they are the characters with the most development. Hell, we even see their parents at one point and we lean more about them then any of the rangers. While I think Bulks portrayal in Samurai was a disaster we do see that he was a good father figure for his nephew while Skull was away. These guys weren't perfect but all they ever really wanted was to do some good in the world and several times they did enough to truly make a difference. That's more than enough to end up on my list.
