Jason David Frank Talks Super Megaforce
1 Attachment(s)
Jason David Frank made an appearance at the Dallas Comic Con this past weekend. During a Q&A session, JDF talks about his involvement with with the upcoming Super Megaforce season and the mass e-mail that was sent out to various Power Ranger alumni.
You can view the Q&A Session in the video link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4Xrc...ayer_embedded# To hear JDF talk Super Megaforce, skip to 3:00, and 12:00 Source: Rangercrew@Nightmere10 |
This is irritating. I know it's not your fault Kiryu because you can't merge threads, but I'm tired of having duplicate threads for the same thing when it comes to "rumors" that become "news."
There should be some sort of way to move the thread, or have the other thread closed when annoucements are made. Forgive me for asking, but is the whole point of a "Newsie" to start new threads that have already been made even though they themselves may have not found the news that they're posting about? It doesn't make sense to me. |
I tend to believe JDF about the emails. The explination does make sense.

A little update for you guys:

Addressed this issue before. Technically can't merge threads in to the same post for front page without screwing up the forum. Site update later in the year (post SDCC) will fix that, I promise. Till then just gotta deal with it till then. Worth the wait, again, I promise. Till then just know we don't like it anymore than you guys.
|
Cant you just have a single thread for all the news? That way when users find the info first, as they have been for the most part, they can just post it in there without the newsie making a pointless dupe thread?

Had you put it in the News Section, I might have heard about it :P Kidding, of course! |
He's the best Ranger of All time & all ways will be. I hope he's in all or must of Super Megaforce. I'll be ok with just one or 2 ep's. Heres hopping for Tommy in Super Megaforce.

For all intents and purposes, Tommy was a terrible Ranger. |
Jason is terrbie ranger

that why zordon pick tommy as new leader of pr team in white light
|
Zordon was actually a dick. He kidnapped 5 teenagers barely able to drive and put them in a direct line of danger and gave them a weapon strong enough to destroy giant alien monsters. Then he constantly kept information from them (like a 6th power coin and numerous "more powerful villains exist" info) until it was way too late. To top it off, once they graduated high school, he peaced out leaving them with the twin sister of their new enemy who spoke in riddles. Then he dies and forgets to tell anyone that two of their main villains had an evil child that would come back 11 years later as an adult and nearly destroy them all.
Worst mentor ever. |

But then again it's not like Gosei is fairing any better. I mean he's intentionally holding back vital information and key components from the Rangers until the situation becomes convenient for them to need them. :lol |
alien rangers saga is worst
lord zedd created monster out of the spider |
Gosei has spoken to the Rangers like twice since the first episode? That and he's holding back power cards until they're in mortal danger. Can't wait for him to remember the Gokai Morpher and how he's been holding back on that little surprise.

It's a "per capita" example. Regardless, I'm just tired of people stating that "Tommy is teh bestz0rs n alwayz will be!" when that's purely opinion based. People can think he's great, but keep it as an opinion. |

Wish I didn't have to sit through a ~34 min. video to learn the relevant info here...
Can we get some "talks about his involvement" or what he says about the mass email quotes? Accessibility... |

It's 3:00, and the subject about the e-mail comes up at 12:00. |

Even so, I'm not going to one day decide to sift through every episode between Zeo and Dino Thunder just to figure out who was statistically better. To me Tommy is the best ranger, Jason maybe would be second. A lot of people feel the same way so I can't blame them for stating that Tommy is the best ranger. Even if someone says it as if it's the truth I think it's a given that it's just an opinion, whomever is best is subject to the fans' personal tastes. Any time someone says someone is the best ranger that is opinion. It should not matter if they are stating it as fact because it is true to them, may not be true to someone else, but doesn't matter because anyone who hears/reads that already knows it is an opinion. |

Also, I never suggested to "sift through" every episode to find out if he's "the best." I again gave reasons why he's not "the best" without having to "sift through" anything at all. I'm sorry I haven't jumped on the Tommy Bandwagon. I'm also sorry that everyone loves Tommy. I love Tommy too. In fact, why are we having this discussion? I love Tommy so much, there's no need to have a discussion about it, because "who cares!" In fact, let's all agree on the same thing, and that way we can just not have a discussion board. You discuss personal tastes, but yet when someone has a different opinion and states why, it's not okay? Fact is, there is no "best Ranger." Rangers are chosen for their merits, strengths and weaknesses. Tommy had many weaknesses. But his strengths overcame that. Am I going to argue that Tommy isn't the "face" of Power Rangers? No. Am I going to deny that Tommy wasn't a very powerful Ranger? No way. That'd be insane. The man had a great Ranger career. But is he the "best Ranger?" No, he's not, and I already gave reasons why. And changing Ranger colors doesn't make you the best Ranger either, which by your argument that's what he did so that makes him great? Can you clarify on that? |
Quote:
You already gave reasons of why he isn't the best ranger as if you are stating that him not being the best ranger is true. You are doing the exact same thing that you evidently don't want other people to do, to not keep what they say as an opinion. My point is, why tell them to keep what they say as an opinion, why when you are expressing what you think to be true, when you are doing what they are doing, expressing your opinion as fact. I'm didn't even read all of your reasons as to why Tommy might not be the best ranger and to me, he still is the best ranger. Why? It's because he's my favorite ranger. One ranger could cure world hunger and Tommy would still be my favorite Power Ranger. |
Quote:
I get what you're saying, I really do. And it's okay to have a favorite Ranger, but it doesn't make him the best. What if I said Kelsey was my favorite Ranger? Does that make her the best? My point is, favorite doesn't equate to best. That's it. Nothing more. |
Trey was the best Ranger. He was THREE people and was voiced by someone else entirely.
Beat that. |

Thank you guys for the feedback and we apologize for the inconvenience. Next time something like this comes up, we'll make sure to cut straight to the chase :)
(...dial-up? I'm so sorry...!!) |
Why are people arguing about something as menial as who is the best ranger? Tommy is my favorite ranger, and to me the best. Not because of what he did in the ranger world but because of what he represents to me. If another person thinks that Zack, Sky, or Wes are the best rangers thats their opinion. I'm not going to attack them for that. Everyone has opinions and contrary to popular belief apparently, it does make them the best...to that person. Thats why there are polls to find out who is the best ranger. Its a vote...you know...of opinions...
So yeah. Go Tommy...haha |
Quote:
This is a discussion board, right? We were discussing the strengths and weaknesses of Rangers. A favorite doesn't mean the best. I've already pointed out why that is. Also, can we please get some clarification here? What does he represent to you? You touched on it, but you didn't go into detail. What does he represent to you exactly? |

You can't pick the best ranger...thats what I am saying. The concept of best is something that everyone agrees on. You wont get everyone to agree on the samething, especially in a fandom such as this. The only thing you can do is majority rules and thats pretty much a popularity contest. Why is Tommy the best to me? Well...when I was younger, my parents got divorced and without going into to much detail, neither of my parents were role models for me. So I went looking for one. I found the Power Rangers, and more to the point, Tommy. I began to shape my morals off of his character and I am the person you see here (or read here lol) today because of the tutelage that these beloved characters brought to me without even realizing it. So yeah, thats why he is the best to me. Also I just loved how he was able to overcome all of the crap thrown his way throughout his career. That is what I believe personifies the ideas behind being chosen to be a ranger, just like being a green lantern means you can overcome great fear. I might be looking through nostalgic glasses but thats okay. He was who I grew up and other characters will be the same to someone else. This is just my reasoning for my choice of him being the best ranger to me. Hope this helps. |
