Okay I going to remove the PG rating on how I speak here so reader digression is advised. sensitive

First, I'm pretty sure we've all seen the news of the Xbox One and what a pile of crap Microsoft has going on with it. I've been relatively loyal to the xbox with the occasional gaming on the Wii here and there. But seriously what the fuck? Used game fees? Voice control gaming and fucking kinect 2? Get that shit out of here! You've shot yourself multiple times in the god damn foot Microsoft. You know what made the 360 successful? GAMES! NOT GIMMICKS! Oh, I can watch tv on my xbox one now? I've go cabel and netflix for that! Give me something good here! This is really a disastrous... disappointment to say the least

Speaking of disappointments, megaforce has turned out to be a mega disappointment. I like the show itself fine but with all the crap about going around about the returning rangers and Saban's antics behind the scenes is really hurting my enjoyment of the series. Yeah, most expensive series to date my ass! Who the hell even started that god damn rumor? Also, I'm really not digging this "two seasons per series" and the reuse of the same damn theme song deal we've got going on here. If this is the future of Power Rangers, I'm sticking with Super Sentai.

On the note of Sentai and japanese toku... Yeah, I'm not really digging Kyoryuger as much as I would like. I'm not saying that the show is bad, just not my thing. Although I will admit that it's pretty cool to see non japanese actors in Tokusatsu. Also Kamen Rider Wizard is... not the best I've seen from Kamen Rider. Oh well, at least it's inspired some pretty cool ideas from myself and others. Plus we've still got Super Hero Taisen Z to look forward to.

Sorry to be a downer, but I just needed to vent. Though I'm curious, what's your thoughts on the current year? Are you as pissed off and disappointed as I am? Or are you looking forward to the coming year? Leave a response and let me know.

To be fair on the whole Megaforce reusing Samurais opening, they've actually got a good reason for it.

For Samurai it was the big return for Saban and for Megaforce it was for the 20th anniversary. I just hope they don't reuse Go go power rangers for the Go Busters adaption.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I was really disappointed with the reveal of the Xbox One today. The used game fee is going to end up costing them a lot in the future. Since Sony has said specifically that they will not interfere with used games at all that gives them a huge step up.

I'm a PC gamer though, and I don't think this console generation is going to change that.

As far as Megaforce goes, I've been enjoying it for what it is. I'm mostly interested in picking up the toys and I try not to let behind the scenes stuff ruin it for me. I still have hope that Super Megaforce will be fun.

I like Kyoryuger a lot, even if it isn't the best I've seen. I feel like the show has a lot of heart and I really like the characters. As far as Wizard is concerned, I am absolutely enamored by the show. I just love it to death! I can see how it isn't for everyone, but at least I'm happy with it.

Overall, I'm still optimistic that the next year will be great. :D

I just thought "Go Go, Go Busters" would be an awesome theme. lol

I didn't read the whole post, but if you don't like the toku they're showing now, you can always just watch the older shows. There's a massive surplus of shows from the past that you may find you like.

...Actually now that i think about it that would be a good excuse to use the theme again.

Yeah, I like Wizard okay that's why I pretty much left it alone. However if it was still basically a fucking MAD LIB I would have a lot more to complain about but as of now it's alright in my books.

As for what you're saying, Kyoryuger does enough to bring me back each week (Notably presenting obvious tropes then subverting them).
Wizard has been so hit or miss with me the only reason I'm still watching is because I'm 36 episodes in and I'm for damn sure finishing it.

And I dropped Megaforce because lol no.

Personally, I think that you should be thankful for what you have. Put aside your first world problems and petty complaints and realize that people have it far worse.

Like, you know, your house could be blown away by a tornado.

Or, have loved ones missing or dead.

Or, dead yourself.

I'm not too happy with the merchandising part of the year. Transformers has continued to be majorly disappointing in the quality control department, and the last straw for me was the Ultimate Beast Hunters figures, who were ultimately (pun intended) disappointing. This was the chance to finally see some good large robot figures like the pre-Dark of the Moon days but the end result was cheap-feeling and poor.

Kyoryuger has been good as a show, and the toys are decent but I was disappointed with the fragility of the clips on Kyoryuzin. Also, I really wished the transformations were a tiny bit more inspiring.

Wizard was a decent show, but wasn't interesting enough to keep me going, so no merchandise from that show for me.

Star Trek Into Darkness had amazing potential for toys, but Hasbro didn't do much with their license.

Without Toku or Transformers, I don't really have anything to look forward to in toys.

On the other hand, there are things I am thankful for, namely:

1. Star Trek Into Darkness - Glad to have another Star Trek film after so long, and a great one at that.
2. A slew of other exciting movies coming up like Man of Steel, Hobbit 2 and Catching Fire.
3. Pokémon X and Y.
4. Kyoryuger being a fantastic show.
5. My Little Pony Season 3, which was pretty great.
6. Doctor Who anniversary coming up.

Lots more I'm thinking. Overall not a bad year for entertainment, but just really uninspiring in the toy department.

That's not very fair though. It's not wrong to vent about so-called first world problems sometimes. No matter how bad anyone's problems are, most of the time there's someone far worse. Besides, he's not venting about anything personal, just entertainment stuff and I'm sure he's grateful for a lot of the stuff he has.

And remember, who's to say he's not one of those you mentioned? Entertainment is a distraction, sometimes we rant about entertainment because we can't bear to rant about severe life issues.

And I would rather (and I'm sure a lot of people would rather) keep severe life issues off of this board, or any message board for that matter.

I'm one of those people who gets really into the toku shows. I sorta watch them with the mindset of a child. I have yet to complete a series and not like it. There have been times I have been a bit disappointed, but never enough for me to drop a show. Kyoryuger and Wizard are both great. I'm really excited to be getting my Gaburevolver soon. I would be getting the White Wizardriver if I were planning to get more than just a handful of rings.

I never said it wasn't wrong or he couldn't. I just suggested putting things into perspective.

The last part's a stretch. While entertainment is a distraction, had he been a victim from whatever happenstance that occured, I think the entertainment would be taking a backseat right now. Searching for loved ones, donating time, items, volunteering, etc. would be the first priority.

In the end, not all the cards are going to stack in your favor, even from an entertainment standpoint. Seems to me it's time to find a new hobby.

When you mentioned loved ones dead I wasn't thinking of disasters but rather the everyday kind of passing. That is devastating and I know many people distract themselves with entertainment. Sorrow is not merely restricted to disasters, even though those are some of the most heart-rending ones.

Anyway, what I was getting at why he needs to put things in perspective when his venting seems solely restricted to entertainment issues.

Also, he shouldn't need to find a new hobby as entertainment things fluctuate, good years can follow bad years.

Hobbies change. Entertainment "things" fluctuate. Find a new hobby until you find something else you enjoy.

Obviously the enjoyment isn't to be found in what the OP listed.

A new hobby doesn't mean you give up your old ones. Broaden your horizons.

There are problems here and there, but I like to (Note: Like to, not always pull off) focus on what makes me happy.
