Jason David Frank Tells TMZ He's Playing Green and White Ranger in Super Megaforce
 

Jason David Frank spoke with TMZ.COM while filming for Super Megaforce in New Zealand this week. We've all seen the images by now of Jason David Frank wearing his Green Ranger costume from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. But the video below tells us even more!

Jason states:

I'm not doing this for the money. I told you guys I'd do this for a dollar, and I mean it. I'm doing this for the fans. I had a chance to read the script and it's great. This year is going to be awesome. Tommy's back! The Green ... AND the White Ranger make a cameo!

I think everyone can agree - it's going to be a long wait to see this "Mega War".

I'm hoping that he'll basically do the equivalent of a rapid fire Gokai change between all his different powers (maybe Fighting Spirit style and not counting Turbo). Something about that seems pretty sweet.

White was always my favorite, so its nice to hear both will be coming back.

Oh lord Jesus.

For whatever reason TMZ has had a hard-on for this Power Rangers reunion thing. They focused on David Yost, Karan Ashley, and Walter Jones before this.

The interesting thing is they could only invite ten.Was it money,or episode constrictions?

Money.

From what I understand, production footed the bill for flights, lodging, and enough for "two days" worth of paid work. Hence why they technically only had them shoot for 2 days (1 day of fitting, 1 day of shooting). Jason David Frank was there a day or two early, so who knows what he did, especially if he was willing to do all of this more or less for free.

I think Patricia Ja Lee needs major kudos. She reportedly isn't part of the "10 contract" list, meaning she did a lot of this on her own dime. That's dedication. That moves her up my list as one of my favorite Pink Rangers.

As much as I don't like Tommy (or should I say his fans), I think a Gokai Change with the five Megaforce Rangers into his forms would be awesome.

God, that would be one of the most beautiful moments of fanwankery ever.

I'm interested to see how they work in all his suit changes.

Why is not 2014 yet?! I wanna see Tommy back so bad now!!!

i hope tommy has a cameo in the scene when gokaisilver gets his powers in a dream sequence/near-death sequence in gokaiger.

Having Jason David Frank back is so cool. He's grate to his fan's. It's a Grate thing to have Dr Tommy Oliver again.

I find it incredibly weird that TMZ cares about this issue at all. I suppose the majority of people working there are in their late 20's and grew up with the show. It's just that nobody is having a meltdown or using drugs or making a sex tape. It's just a bunch of grown men in spandex. That's a regular day around here.

TMZ is good, usually, with covering Nerd/Geek stories. When BBC brought Doctor Who filming to the US for the first time in it's 50 Year history they covered the gala associated with it. And most the filming.

I am glad that Jason David Frank is still enthusiastic about his role on the Power Rangers. And he should be proud and excited about it because I believe that he done a great job on Power Rangers. Jason David Frank's excitement about Power Rangers is a good thing to me because it shows that he hasn't forgotten where he came from and where his fan base is from.

How dare someone take pride and enjoyment from their work! The audacity!

20 years later he's making a living from being beloved by millions of fans, going to conventions and generally being a bro (and that's on top of his dojo and mma. Oh and being a dad) I wouldn't blame him for having an ego, he's known across the world for the role hes barely been near in 15 years. But he still does everything he does because he enjoys it, after this many years why the hell else would he do it? So he can be a narcissistic prick for all I care, he still does right by the fandom, and that's all that matters

The sad part of all this is because of how Nick does seasons, we aren't seeing this until late next year.

I don't think he he's going to be 2 Rangers at once. I think he's going to get the Green Ranger Key & the White Ranger Key. Maybe at one time he'll use the Green ranger key then later on use the White ranger key.

Tom Oliver could return from the past and fight with Tommy the White Ranger.

He seems real happy to be back. I'm definitely happy to see him back in that green.
