Unofficial Power Rangers SPD Reunion - Help Matt "Bridge" Austin Make It Happen
 

To those who followed the events of the cameo invites, uninvites, and not-invited for Power Rangers Super Megaforce then you already know that Matt Austin, who played Bridge the Green Ranger in Power Rangers SPD, and his fellow cast members were hurt that they weren't invited to take part in the official reunion. The cast spent a couple of days joking about making their own reunion.

Well, looks like the joke is now something they want to make a reality.

Matt Austin is asking fans to create a story/script for this 22 minute fan-film. Once a story/script has been settled on, they would start a Kickstarter fundraiser, and if the funds are matched for what they'd need, they would film it for the fans. Do note, they won't be able to morph in to the Power Rangers SPD (for legal reasons), but they will still find a way to have plenty of action and excitement in this 22 minute fan-film.

You have until September 2013 to submit your story/script, and more details will follow at that point.

This is slowly but surely turning out to be a really awesome year for Power Rangers fans! Let's hear it for the cast of Power Rangers SPD for trying to give back to the fans one last time.

YES! Spd was one of the better disney series and the better cast to me, hell SPD and Jungle Fury are the best of the disney era to me :lol

If there were to come back some how i wood like to know if SPD Red Jack & that girl he met Ally. If they ever got married.

I'm actually going to write up a story ... maybe not a script, but a story. But keep in mind you should always wait before you send it ... because the first are always forgotten unless they're mind-blowing and epic.

I pray that this succeeds. It's unfortunate that we won't get an SPD morph, but it was the characters, not the suits, who made SPD so great for me, anyway!

I don't get why Saban did not even try to invite any of them not even the generic email to any one, but that's in the past now. For a scrip maybe some thing like were are they now (for the characters) seeing what the B-team members have been up to over the years like how Bridge is doing as red and so on.

Hmm. Unofficial Power Rangers Special made for the fans by past actors...

I have to ask-

How would this work from a legal perspective?

Simply not title it Power Rangers.
Saban doesn't own the name "Bridge" or "Jack" and the like.
"SPD" itself is just an acronym.
And while doing something under parody isn't a free pass to do anything, it's probably enough for this.

Power rangers SPD 9 years after? I like the sound of that.

And if Hurricaneger after 10 years happened, albeit more official, this could too!

This is the best Power Rangers news I've heard since 2005!! I love SPD and I love the enthusiasm the cast and crew had for the show. It's clear Saban made a huge mistake for not inviting these guys back for the reunion. They're incredibly talented and made an entertaining season.

Watch Toei indorse them and let them use the DekaRanger moniker.

I already have the perfect ending for the 22 minute fan film. Now I just need a story to go with it.

I've got a great idea for a final scene.

[Credits fade to Bridge walking down an alleyway, singing a merry song about buttery toast. A bright light flashes from behind the camera onto Bridge, who looks up.]

Sentinel Knight: Bridge Carson; you have been chosen to return to the past and serve as Red Ranger once again to fight an army of evil.

Bridge: [Smiles widely.] Ooh, ooh, is it the Mega War of 2013? [Smiles open-mouthed.]

[There is an awkward silence. A glowing, black arm reaches out and slowly pats Bridge on the shoulder. Bridges grin disappears, replaced by disappointment. Then he shrugs.]

Bridge: Eh, close enough.

[Fade to black.]

Id like to see it end with the SPD team storming Saban headquarters...

This is cool. S.P.D. is what got be back into Power Rangers after Turbo killed it.
