Tamashii's main page has put up a preview set of Ranger Keys from Hikonen Sentai Akibaranger!

This set of five will not work in standard Mobirates but will complete the hole in various Key collections. :)

Akibaranger Keys will cost 5250 Yen and will be available in December

So if it doesn't work with the Mobirates (which makes sense considering when the Mobirates was designed), what happens when you put a key in the thing?

1) It won't work
2) You break the key (?)

As cool as it is that these are being made,what's the point?

They don't fit in the Mobirates and if they do there is no sound for them anyway.They're also WAY overpriced even for Bandai standards.You've got to be a SUPER die-hard Akibaranger fan to even consider buying these.

The way I see it…anyone that has the coin to drop on a 500$ transforming car that they use will probably end up with these keys.

Until the day the Akibarangers have obtained all the powers from the official Sentai, the keys won't work on the Mobirates. :D

Yeah,but I feel like I'd get my money's worth out of the DX Itassher Robo than unusable Ranger Keys.If the key bits were actually made of diecast and had the autoflip then I'd maybe consider them worth buying.

Rather they'd come with DeluKnight and Malshina's armored form instead of the Season 2 Blue and Yellow. At least throw Chou AkibaRed in there if you're going to double up on the girls.

To be fair…none of the post Gokairager Premium Ranger Keys feel like they're worth it, since they do basically nothing on their own.

Akibaranger can combine their Cannon, Bazooka, and Itassha Boy which requires their own keys to activate... :D

Reading the prints again the keys are not Ranger Keys.
Instead of "レンジャー" (Ranger) those are being labelled as "レソジャー" (Resoger).

(Mobirates are from AkaRed. Since Akibaranger is unofficial AkaRed can't provide the same thing.) :)

I don't understand what "doesn't work with the Mobirates" means. Is there no grey "key" part when you flip them up? Is it shaped differently so they don't go in? Is it a standard "special key" or some new key cut that just makes a different or no noise? I don't get it. If they do absolutely nothing, then why are they more than $10 each?

The show doesn't have a 3rd sponsor. It costs more to produce merchandise.

I would pay good money to see Akibaranger made into a Power Rangers season.

At first I thought the price was stupid, but looking back, that isn't that much more expensive then what you'd pay to get a rare DX set of normal keys. I'm not getting them now because I don't want a complete ranger key set and I'm happy with having just the DX ones, but that price isn't as bad as what it first seems.

So what would actual Akibaranger bootlegs be called? And would they sound like legitimate products?
Oh who cares! Akibaranger is an official unofficial knock-off of the Sentai formula. With more fanservice than a montage of the DekaPink Furo Scenes and the fact a villian is an adult film star.

That'd work. All we need now is the name, something like “Power Rangers (Insert title here)”, (and of course, add “Super” to the name for Season 2.)

Do want, but I wish these web exclusive ranger key sets weren't so expensive for what they are.

The Akibaranger keys have thicker blades which are not compatable with the Mobirages, and will be painted in silver.
Why making it thicker? Nobody knows. Maybe they throw in a voice chip in each key?
Looking at the Metal Hero key set now. 8 keys for 10500 yen. They are using the regular size blade and are Mobirate compatible.
I guess the Akibaranger keys are pretty much "look alikes", and can do nothing. :)

it'd be cheaper buying five mass release keys, printing out Akibaranger pictures, and glueing them on yourself.

I'd buy OOO's custom Gosei Knight one in a heartbeat.

Custom paint =/= printing out a picture and sticking it on a key :p

They're just collectible. No different to Gaia Memories or Core Medals.
