Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Blue Division Quarter-finals Round 4
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

Red Ranger: Carter Grayson
Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Okay, so we have one last spot in the semi-finals, but we've got three Rangers competing for it. After round after round of blow-outs, I think we've finally got a real match on our hands.

I wouldn't vote Billy because while he is a genius and builds a lot of stuff for the team, he's not the best fighter, and it took 3 seasons to be able to handle a group of Putties while unmorphed.

Max and the Wild Force Team as a whole were sporadic in prowess, what with Shayla's whole "Welcome, Yellow Ranger. Please wait 11 months for back up in battle, I need to cath up on watching 'All My Children'" method of recruitment. But Max has Aquatic Cobat abilities because Shark, and would put up a challenge for Tori.

Tori is hot, yes, but she also had Ninja Training. It's not really said how long she's been a ninja, but it's at least one year of formal training. She has Water-based Ninja Powers, along with standard ninja magics.

This is tough.

Max.Just a fan of Wild Force and he had more weapons.Also was the glue of the team.

He had 3 weapons. Tori had 2, one of which was a sword/blaster type sidearm, and Billy had the Power Lances and his own dual function sidearm.

He was the glue, though, being the plucky character and all.

its really hard to vote against tori with a picture like that...just...wow...uhh what was i saying? oh yeah billy. our ultimate team needs a macgyver...

We all love Billy so it should probably be him but I gotta vote Tori on hotness factor.

He was cool. He had heart. He was just a fun character.

Power wise, he's better at aquatic combat (Tori used water based powers, but never actually fought in water), weapon/tool wise, he had a giraffe spear/sword thing in addition to shark blade tonfa things. He also had the default sword, too.

So, yeah. Going for Max.

billy! I have to agree with that other user who posted before. I mean its not all about best fighters. We need variety when it comes to skill

we already have Lily who is an excellent trained fighter and Carter who is trained in firefighting and saving people. A tech guy would round just that group out nicely. Especially if a fighter type wins Black/Green which I feel is likely

Flynn is not a bad choice at all. Flynn isnt in this round is he?. Oddly enough TJ is still my number one choice to win it all :lol

Hmm...Billy's the only MMPR character, besides Tommy I guess, that I remember t a king on a monster by himself and defeating it while his whole team was preoccupied. Plus he can build a shitload of stiff.

On the other hand, Tori has the most superpowers out of all three. Hmm...

Tori because of Ninja's and ninja's are tough. My vote is nothing to do with the picture. Stop judging me.

Sorry Tori but it has gotta be Billy. You were such a huge inspiration to me as a kid and I think it's important to show the world that you don't have to be the popular jock to save the world, even if that is something he adds to the team that is isn't combat based. However if Tori takes this I wont be disappointed.

Billy's ability to think up and engineer solutions to traps, evil devices, and other roadblocks cannot be overstated. He also hung around long enough to become a solid fighter who could hold his own in combat. Max and Tori are better combatants but don't bring nearly as much to the table otherwise.

I like Billy. And his mind is very keen, I grant you. But in his tenor has Blue Ranger he was never really a great fighter. That wasn't how he was. He always used his mind to get himself out of situations, and relied on the others for the real grunt work fighting. I'm sorry, he just cannot beat a trained Ninja.

This is why I don't mind if Tori wins, she is a ninja master, teaching hundreds of students at the Academy, which means she is both powerful as fuck and has leadership qualities as well, however she has also never lead a team so her and Carter shouldn't clash.

Billy was a valuable asset to his team both as a Power Ranger and in the command centre. Lots of rangers are trained fighters, but ones of Billy's caliber are few and far between.

Well he did fight and destroy a monster by himself in a season 3 episode.

I know Kimberly pulled that off once or twice. It was pretty uncommon, though, yeah.

Honestly surprised to see Max lagging so far behind after his strong qualifying performance.

I honestly remember nothing about Max other than the fact he was really annoying.

Billy could create stuff to defeat the other two, his genius alone is enough to needed on this team. His brain makes up for his brawn.

I liked Max.

He might be great, for all I know, but I tried rewatching Wild Force and it was so fucking bad so I gave up on it pretty early on.

I guess I'll alternate between the "Bad" series (Wild Force, Ninja Storm) with the "Good" series (Zeo, Dino Thunder)...

I've been putting off Zeo for two days, so I might as well start Wild Force now.

I think a lot of people like Wild Force, I just didn't because the censorship was heavy, the plotting was bad and the acting was worse.

You know my feelings on all those other shows you listed.

I've given up all hope of this being the "Ultimate" team.The only round/ranger I might see go through that makes any sense for any color is Tommy as Dino Thunder Black.Other then that it's mostly based on who anyone remembers or thinks looks hot,even though there's link to their info right on the first page.Heck Max got dropped from the discussion at about the second page.

Anywho I'm done voting for Blues.It's gonna either be Billy,Sky,or Flynn anyways.

Oh yeah Megaforce ain't great but at least that has Gia, Noah and Jake.

Never said anything bout them,just saying there's worse acting out there then Wild Force.I honestly thought Taylor and Max were the best characters out of Wild Force.

Yeah, pretty much every Saban series has had terrible acting, minus Time Force and to a lesser degree Lightspeed Rescue. Disney seemed to get the better casts, once they found their feet.

Personality and actions play a role larger than power set.
Or else the most robotic characters would have won Red and Yellow.
Are you really that frustrated because a character with the charisma of a stone lost last round?
