So e3 is underway. Microsoft and Sony both had their press conferences today.

They showed some games on the X Box One finally, but nothing so great that it makes me wanna put up with Microsoft's Bullshit polices.

Then came Sony….oh god sony.

Final Fantasy Versus 13 is being rebranded into FF15 and they showed that Kingdom Hearts 3 was in development.

Now the most important thing is they announced the price of the Ps4 which will be 399$!

AND they revealed they aren't doing any of Microsoft's BS Policies in the most hilarious way ever.

Yeah, Sony's pretty much won E3 as far as I'm concerned.

KH3's announcement disappointed me because everyone is going nuts over it when it told nothing.

And Killer Instinct has been ruined. Awesome.

Not nuts, but I'm glad to see that they showed us that they've started development on it, and those graphics are gorgeous.

and it's a teaser, they're supposed to tell you nothing.

Hm...Final Fantasy XV looks interesting. it doesn't seem to be turn-based, which is interesting.

And as sad as I am to say it, it definitely looks like I'll be going PS4 in the next gen. I've been a staunch Xbox advocate for years but the Xbox One is far too huge a disappointment for me to support. Microsoft is intentionally trying to KILL the used game industry, and I cannot support them or that system.

I would argue that Killer Instinct was never good in the first place.

Same here, but I've said it on numerous occasions. Looking back...I've preferred Playstation exclusives. Persona, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, etc... So, even if the Xbox One didn't have all of this, I might have gone Sony anyway. The fact that they aren't requiring DRM is good, but I fear that some third-party developers may have it for games that are also going to be on the Xbox One.

I am glad to see that it's $400, I thought it was going to be $500-$600. Destiny looked interesting, and I don't play first person shooters.

Sony also said that PS4 will require Play Station Plus to run online.

But they've reduced the cost to 5$ a month, plus monthly free games.

Which is fine by me.

Yeah Sony isn't making online mandatory, which is the important thing here.

It's a better deal then anything Microsoft can or ever will offer

HOLYFUCK YES NEW KINGDOM HEARTS. LOVING Game Informer's article headline for it: "Kingdom Hearts III FINALLY Announced." Haha it's great. [Called this one the minute it was shown in the introductory video of Sony's conference.]

There's. A new. BATTLEFRONT!! :D Wish we got gameplay of that, but knowing the timeline of things, I know that wouldn't have been possible.

AC4 still looks great. And it occurred to me during the Sony conference gameplay that Edward is just NOT a good person. At all. So it'll be really interesting to be playing from such a different perspective in an Assassin's Creed game.

Titanfall? Yep... mechs are awesome. I kinda dig it.

I keep looking at Destiny and thinking "so... it's still Halo?" Even though I know it's not. It's just not grabbing my attention as much as I'd hoped. :/

It is so sad that Sony had to state the obvious about used games and no internet restrictions, but whatever, way to go Sony.

The conference was full of surprised and fantastic. I was ready to rage though when they started to talk about movies and tv series, but they didn't talk about it long and even their sports talk was very quick. They didn't beat around the bush, told us what we wanted to know, showed us some amazing games (the Indie games look awesome, and I am curious about The Order), especially the new stuff on Watch_Dogs. I was actually even impressed with Destiny even though I'll probably never play it since it is an MMO.

Jack Trenton is the man and friggin awesome!! His facial reactions for when everyone cheered about the clarity of no restrictions was awesome and you could tell he was having fun with it. I loved how they stressed through the entire conference that this is a machine for gamers. Once again, Sony has won the war before it even started. Even the $400 is not bad. Now, when is Gamestop going to start taking preorders?

I think the only real downside I'm seeing with the PS4 is a PS Plus subscription being necessary for online play. That's not too bad though, seeing as I never play online and PS Plus isn't a bad service for the price. All of this trash talk is golden though.
I hope Nintendo has some good things in store beyond "We didn't make the Xbox One".

Mirror's Edge 2 is probably my favorite announcement, and I'm more than willing to wait for it if it means a superior game. The first game was one of my absolute favorites, so the more the merrier.

Welp, preordered the PS4. Might not keep the preorder depending on what the launch games are, but Elder Scrolls Online? $400? Sold.

I'm not a console wars guy(own both, use both) but the Xbone is really going to have to offer me more than their usual exclusive franchises to put up with their weird restrictions and technical demands, not to mention their higher price.

Those graphics are nothing new. Compared to the PS2, yeah, but I wouldn't call simple cell shading "Gorgeous."
I'm weary of anything "In development" because that could still lead to literal years worth of developing.

And I'm still trying to find out what what was exciting over the fact that Square Enix finally said "Fine. We'll make the game you all want instead of a side story."

Like I said. I was merely disappointed with it, not angered or think it's bad.

Trust me. It wasn't.
But they could have made something beautiful and great.
Instead they go for this crappy pseudo MK9 system that has the worst animations I've ever seen in a Fighter this past decade.

Not to be all Xbox defensive but I think while they have issues with their End User Terms and Agreements, the real issue lies with game developers and publishers. If its the Publishers who are pushing the console makers to put a stop to 2nd hand game sales and trading, even Sony is going to have to start making some concessions that we as the consumers won't be happy about.

To say nothing about publishers preferring to work on the console which is easier to program for which was what all of them bitched about when comparing the 360 and the PS3, the PS3 was notoriously difficult to work with. Gabe "PC God" Newell whom many PC disciples worship are also happy to point out things like Steam existing which curbs games being sold 2nd hand.

I hate to say it but this isn't in Sony or Microsoft's hands. Its our beloved developers who are making it hard on us.

By gorgeous, I meant I really like the way it looks. I really like the cell shaded look, and I think it lends itself well to Kindom Hearts. I like the bright colors, and stuff.

Okay, so I've been doing some reading. And there is no much not to like about the XBox One, aside from the Used Game policy. And Microsoft's attempt to deflect the backlash off of themselves by saying the developers will be the ones in control of that.

And I'll start with the internet. Not everyone wants their system online all the time. And, apparently, with the XBone (Best Name Ever), the system won't allow you to do almost everything if it isn't online every 24 hours. And then we come to survellience. The new Kinect must be connected (The system won't allow you to do anything without it), is on everytime the system is on, and raises some real privacy concerns. So not only can you not do what you want with a game you buy until Microsoft says: You also have to check in with them once every day like an over-protective parent, and have the pssibility of private conversations and data collected on you everytime you turn the system on.

So why exactly are people looking forward to this?

When I buy a PS4 do I need to make a new PSN ID or does my PS3 one transfer over somehow, anyone know?

Assuming the "PS Store purchases must be repurchased for the PS4" is still real, it's probably the case.
Not sure why Sony would make you create a new PSN account, though.

All I know is I get my gaming news from a foul-mouthed British guy and MemeBase's Video Games section.

That doesn't bother me. I have games bought on my PS3, but even if I buy a PS4, I'm not getting rid of my PS3. So I'll have the games I bought anyway.

My only other real question is are they still making games for the PS3, or once the PS4 drops are they discontinuing everything for it completely. Online, Games, everything.

So glad to heat that PS4 is not pullin XB1 crap, i had a 360, eh never really cared for it, i know i am not a gamer myslef but i have liked the PS3 i have now, so i am glad Sony is goin the right way :lol

They'll more then likely continue PSN service for the PS3 for whatever long it has left in it's life cycle. Once they stop making games, well that's probably when they'll cut PS3 users off.

Then again, doesn't seem logical if both systems are using the same service and servers.
