Akibaranger 6th Episode Discussion
Well, the new episode was aired today, so let's discuss here!
Nobuo and Mitsuki visit Toei! Yumeria is gothic? Hakase and her worker...hmm... only in the world of Akibaranger! |
Terrific episode, and one that gets to pay homage to the stunt actors of Toei. I can't remember the name of that old stunt man Nobuo and Mitsuki met at the backlot of Toei, but he's a real legend and was the suit actor for Red Hawk (who made a cameo in this episode), among others, and it's great to see him getting some credit in an (unofficial) Super Sentai series. But the biggest shock is that Malseena is real! She seems to have kidnapped Hasake in the preview, and I think it's going to get more interesting from here on out.

Holy crap, Akibaranger actually has a plot!
Great episode. I'm really starting to fall in love with this show. |
Whoa, Malshina in the real world? How would the AkibaRangers fight her if their power are only in the delusion dimension, but in the same respect, would she have any powers? (not that she's exhibited any besides shape shifting).

Very good episode. I loved how Akagi experienced geekage overload when he saw the miniature buildings from Gekiranger and the Oomori Hill road from Timeranger. But yeah, great to see the show pay tribute to the master suit actor Kazuo Niibori.
But now that Malseena's in the real world, what next? |
Malsheena in the real world? Oh boy...

I'm wondering just what the source of the delusion technology is at this point, and for that matter, where Malshina comes from in the first place as far as designs. Was kinda confused as to how she got out, for that matter.

I just loved that bit in the real world where they all thought Malshina was gonna do something, and she just hailed a cab :lol
|
In the previews, I was really anxious to see the whole lesbian kiss scene. But then, I realized it involved Kozkoz. Ewww. :thumbdown At least it didn't actually happen.
On a couple of side notes: 1. Kozue Aikawa's Danceroid partner Ikura (who's a lot cuter, but that's not saying much) makes an uncredited guest appearance as a cafe waitress. 2. Kozue does not look as creepy in real life. |

Btw, am I the only found who found Moegi cosplaying in this episode to be strangely attractive? It's also hilarious the way she keeps referring her two teammates as her servants. |
I just like watching the two waitresses in the background miming killing each other :lol

A decent episode over all but Yumeria's cosplays are getting a bit ridiculous. She should just be Mele, all the time. |
I disagree, her costume in this episode was by far the coolest and most normal looking of them. I also want her plastic head thing.
Anyway, this show has really picked up and is way better than Gobusters. This show seems like it is really going to work better being 12 episodes as opposed to 50. Plus, I don't think I can take this show for 50 episodes. I mean, it is hysterical, but it is not 50 episode material. I want them to go back to Toei studios though, because that was way cool. I loved how the music was all dramatic when Malwhatever appeared, and then it stops as she gets in the taxi, and starts up again when the taxi is driving off. BTW, how much do you want to bet she and Hakase are the same being? Obviously not the actress, but she is actually Hakase's delusional self that is now out of control. |
Are my eyes playing tricks on me or was the class room used in this episode the same set/location that is used for the class rooms in Kamen Rider Fourze?
