Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Grack Division Round 3
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

Red Ranger: Carter Grayson
Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman
Blue Ranger: TJ Johnson
Pink Ranger: Jen Scotts

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Okay, we've had one total shut-out and a pretty lopsided match. This time, though, I think we've got a real fight on our hands.

Assuming we can actually get either of them motivated to fight.

Doesn't help that I only became aware that PR existed when Wild Force showed up.

I really don't like Lost Galaxy but most of the Mystic Force Rangers were pretty rubbish (even though I still enjoyed the series) since it was basically Nick The Red Ranger show and all the support Rangers were glorified cameos so Damon wins.

Xander is the victor; not only does he possess the superior power-set, but he also has the personality and skill to use them effectively.

Xander,cause he's the only green ranger I know of cocky enough to go up to the enemy and introduce himself,thinking they would surrender just cause he's Xander.THAT is confidence.

Damon b/c he was useful and a damn good mechanic on Terra Venture and also that the actor ends up marrying Trakeena in real life.

Damon sucks, worst Green Ranger ever! In a battle Xander would make him such a joke.

Xander has the personality and the powers to be a great team player and we need some sort of power house on our team.

I decided to go into more detail than just "Xander!". Damon was a good mechanic. He kept the Megaship running, he kept Terra Venture running, and neither is any small feat. But.. inside the suit he was pretty much backround noise. And it has nothing to do with him and everything to do with Red, Yellow, and Pink stealing the spotlight. And later on Magna Defender too. Him and Kai just sorta faded into the backround and were there only because they needed five Rangers. Xander though wasn't just backround noise. He was a huge part of the team. He was their powerhouse, their driving force. Where Chip was the moarel booster and cheerlader, Xander was the backbone of the team.

He deserves this win.

(I could go into better detail, but that's the main reason it boils down to).

Damon is a great mechanic (something our dream team currently lacks) and a decent fighter. Xander is irritating, cocky who was most notable within his team for being the loudest person in his team. At the end of the day, the only person that ever mattered in Mystic Force was Nick - Damon may have had a more limited role but at least Lost Galaxy had a far more stable team dynamic.

So we need a mechanic? but some how in the pink ranger contest we got another leader, but not someone like a medic or someone with more then just leadership.

I am sorry to say if we don't get a powerful character in this group, I think this team will be crap. TJ nor Jen help this team when we have Carter here.

Because we chose a second leader instead of a Powerhouse/Engineer/Awesome Team Player. *CoughFlynnCough*

I didn't say we needed a mechanic, I merely suggested Damon brings a hell of a lot more to the team than Xander does.

I voted for Flynn though :p

Why do people keep acting like Carter and TJ will clash? TJ slipped into a support role without a word in In Space. Yeah maybe Jen isn't quite the perfect fit for this sort of team but I'd rather each Ranger was from a separate series so we're doing a better job than Saban.

A tough contest.

Damon is smart, but a "hand's on" sort of smart. He's pretty daring, having stole the Astro Megaship. And he has the Lights of Orion.

Xander as a certain cockiness which puts his enemies off guard. And his magical powers are a real threat.

I am going with Damon, no smart Rangers have made it through to the team yet, and he has the skills to back them up.

Technically, he's right. He hasn't said something like that "once." :p

I don't get where this matters.
Dana isn't a field or combat medic. She's a paramedic. Without a room filled with equipment, she's about as useful as anyone who's taken a CPR class and knows how to tie a splint.

TJ brought more than just "Being a leader."
He's creative, he's calm, he's level headed. When put in a dire situation with his "Mentor" gone, he didn't punch something in anger or hang his head and cry. He has spirit, he has will. He offers more than just "Leadership."

Likewise for Jen, she does what it takes to get the job done.

You can't just say "Carter is the better leader, so that makes the other two characters completely pointless." When the entire point is to bring something to the table that the other characters in their category can't.

Damon since I never really liked Zander.

And in spite of an early lead, Xander comes up short and Damon will be moving on.
