Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Grack Division Round 4
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

Red Ranger: Carter Grayson
Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman
Blue Ranger: TJ Johnson
Pink Ranger: Jen Scotts

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Okay, the last round was closer and I think this one will follow suit. This time we're throwing together two guys who fight both evil and the horror of being stuck in the friend zone.

I'm probably in the minority but i don't remember anything about Carlos, so i'm voting for Jake.

I'll give it to Carlos. I found him enjoyable during my Turbo re-watch.
That, and I lost interest in Megaforce, so I don't remember much anything about Jake.

Carlos, because Jake doesn't have the balls to stand up to Gia and say something about how she treats him. Come on Jake, you can do better, Emma is right there.

This has probably been answered, but I don't remember the response (And has no real bearing on this particular round), but who will be representing the Gold Ranger in the 6th tournament? Trey or Jason?

Technically Carlos would probably win this in a straight fight, although we have to assume Jake's axe is a pretty mean Power Weapon.

That said, Jake is one of the few things I like about Megaforce, because he's just genuinely likeable (if you don't think about the darker connotations of him and Gia too much) and so he gets my vote because I couldn't care less about Carlos.

Ya know, dont think Ive voted for a megaforce character yet, except maybe Gia, but, I kinda wanna go with Jake here.

Jake's Axe is pretty strong, but Carlos's main weapon from In Space is a staff, making him something of a distance and disarming fighter.

Jake has the head lasers though as well.

And Carlos has his Astro Blaster, so while it's not a direct counter, he can play the long distance game, too.

I assume the Head Lasers are stronger, since each Head is like a powerup on top of the usual blaster.

That's possible.

Carlos would win out on experience though, I'd assume, I just prefer Jake as a person and it isn't like he hasn't got some powerful weapons on his side to back himself up so I feel justified in voting for him.

I liked Carlos but he didn't really stand out much on PRiS. He got blackmailed by a little girl because of his secret identity, which really shouldn't have mattered since they were mostly in space at that point, and hot PTSD which made him want to quit being a Ranger. Adam had to come back and almost kill himself with a broken morpher to shake him out of it.

To be fair, that was a nice chunk of development for him, the point being to further his confidence.

They're both in. Both had long enough runs as the character to qualify.

Jake. Sorry carlos but your zord was used just to carry the head and to block incoming attacks ...your own team thought you were expendable

Knowing the current odds, they'll probably be against each other Round 1.

Yes, but that was most of the development that he got. Like I said, I liked the character but he still refused to morph when attacked and that put lives in danger.

Ehh, neither are overly amazing but I'd give Carlos a slight edge over Jake.

Jake. And not because *Froths* In Space, NO!, either. Let's say Carlos was transported by Andromeda through space and time and landed in the middle of Angel Grove. The space/time shift makes him go a little wonky and makes him think everyone's his enemy. Now everyone else is busy off stopping Vrak, leaving Jake to handle the situation alone. They both morph. The Megaforce powers give Jake something that Carlos just doesn't have with In Space. Adaptability. And Jake is a capable fighter, he's proven this. So's Carlos. I'm not selling him short here. I'm not saying, by any means, that Carlos would just get his ass kicked. This fight would go all twelve rounds and come down to a judges decision. But Carlos would lose. Jake has just more to call on, a much better weapon, and the ability to call on his zord without calling on his zord. With the Blaster he can call on all four Ground Headders (His Snake, plus the three Ground Brothers) which add to his options in the battle. Carlos would come close, but. Jake just wins this for me.

Now he just needs to keep his filthy hands off Gia :lol

I don't think that's going to be a problem at the rate things are going. ;)

A close one, but looks like Carlos will be moving on.

Oh well, at least Jake is still going to be the official Super Megaforce Green Ranger.
