Well... that's a huge load of disappointing shit. :(

You know why I think it fits that Mayu turns into Kamen Rider Mage? Remember her inner Phantom? It was all spiky and crystal like. That with the suit already having a skirt, makes it more that it was intended for Mayu in the first place, they just decided the design would also be good as a foot soldier in the movie

Ooooh boy are people gonna be pissed.

I'm waiting to watch the whole episode before I make my decision. Maybe this is as the White Wizard's plan, after having Haruto grow so powerful.

Man, this almost makes me want to turbo Wizard just so I can have context.

But hey, at least it's a female rider that doesn't act stupidly girly and bubblegum, right? That's a plus, huh?

Either that or she was so last-minute of an addition to the series that they just co-opted the suit to use for her on the show.

But still Even if she is a Mage we still get Five different Riders and one is a evil rider so kindof better then Fouze int that regard

More Riders doesn't mean better,Ryuki had 13+ and only half of them got any real character and most of them could be seen as evil.I'm also part of the camp that evil Riders aren't necessary.

Fourze's 3 Riders are developed characters and Nadeshiko was mentioned within the show and even returned outside of her introduction.We don't even know if Sorcerer will be an interesting character,he could end up as uninteresting as most evil Riders.

As for Mayu,I would've been satisfied if they at least made her suit a different color.With the exception of the helmet it works for me,but they could have at least made it unique to stand out from the troop builder Mages.

I tried to watching it with out subs and I think I got the general idea of it the only part I'm unsure about is the part with White Wizard but I'll figure it out when the subs come out

I don't get why everybody is so grump about her having that armor... is it a big deal?

The problem is that her suit is the generic suit from the movie.
It loses shock value when movie previews have been showcasing that suit for, like, 4 weeks now.

Anyway, I actually liked this episode. The Gate was relatable and likable, the Phantom wasn't just "I'MMA SMASH [Blank]! THAT'LL MAKE THEM DESPAIR!", which was nice, Seeing Kizaki is always a plus, and this might be the first despair that's taken seriously since Rinko.

I take it back THIS was the worst episode of Wizard so far. They dedicated a whole episode to a kid learning to ride a bike? Are you fucking joking me?!

Also everything about Mayu was terrible, her suit is disgusting and her henshin was terrible.

What the fuck happened to this series? It's like it saved the majority of the filler for the last leg of the series and who the fuck does that?

About the only positive is every week Haruto's driver seems to have less sound bites, so each week it's considerably less annoying.

It's ironic that I actually consider this to be one of the better episodes of Wizard.
Puts in work to make the Gate semi-tragic.
Makes the Gate himself likable.
The Phantom isn't just a generic rage monster.
Haruto is working to find the White Wizard through a sensible fashion (A police database is actually an interesting way to search).
Features the return of a dangling plot thread in Mayu.
Involves Kizaki.

There's so much to like. Honestly, this is probably one of the best episodes of Wizard I've seen. The only negative is that it takes place in episode 40, when Wiseman's endgame should really be starting at this point.
But that aside, I really can't find fault with it. Yes, it's about a kid learning to ride a bike, but I don't see what's wrong with that other than how late it occurs.

What are you on about? Are you on drugs?

Puts in effort into the gate? He fancied an older lady and rode in front of a van. That was his entire character. I found it hard to care for him either way because he spent the whole episode falling off his bike.

And although the stuff involving the Phantom, Haruto and all the wider stuff is interesting as it has been throughout, this stuff was pushed to cameo scenes so we could focus more on this kid learning to ride a fucking bike.

I seriously can't comprehend your opinion on this episode, you talk so much shit about this series then there is a twenty minute episode of a kid falling off a bike and you're loving it. This is bloody Kamen Rider, not a Japanese PSA on bicycle riding.

I think it is about what you want from the series, I think it was good because
One, The Gate wasn't a whinny little prick like most have been
Second, The Phantom had a plan to make him Despair and it works
Third, It is starting to tie up loss ends like getting serious on finding out who White is
This episode was a plot driven one, and yes it could of used more action and less biking and if you come to Kamen Rider for the action I can undder stand your dislike for this episode, but I enjoy the fact that it is moving the overall plot of the show which makes a good episode for me, also the next one looks even better, but to each their own :eyebrow

Why are you all complaining about Mage? We get a female rider appear in the main series, which hasn't happened since Decade (sorta)/ Stronger, and we only have to pay out once for a Mage figuart.

What plan? He just blew the kids bike into the chick he wants to d, he could have just shot her or something much more simple.

And the pacing is absolutely awful lately, when it opened I assumed it'd be a White Wizard centred episode but nope, kid riding a bike. This episode wasn't plot driven in the slightest.

It's like that Sunpei Rinko arc (that I previously called the worst episodes) where the interesting part of the episode is happening in the background and off screen while filler is the focus of the episode for no apparent reason.

This was the first episode of Wizard in about 15 episodes that I honestly enjoyed.

I guess that says everything.

In all honesty I do under stand what your saying and you do make good points I guess this episode just hit the right cord with me. You don't have to like the episode while at the same time dose it really matter if others like it? I do hope the next episode will be better and from what I saw from the previews it looks good so let's just hope okay

I honestly don't care, I was just more in a state of bemusement.

Matrix rags on this series a lot, and I happen to really enjoy Wizard, and then finally I see an episode I truly hated like an episode where not a single part hit the right chord with me and what does Matrix do?

"Best episode for a long time."

The main thing I took away from this episode is that I'm going to need a pedal bike for my Beast.

Reckon he'd fit on a TechDeck?

After spending some time thinking over this episode I decided to give it a 3 out of 5.

I'm deeply thankful the Gate is not a total jerkass and the Phantom had a valid plan..that WORKED, mind you. Rinko even gets to pay a part that plays to her strengths and is believable. Finally the police aren't sucking at least for just this one time!

On the flipside Mayu deserves better than that dull Mage costume and Wiseman's plan is still woefully underexplianed. We still don't know what causes people to become Gates in the first place and the fact that this episode is in a sense filler doesn't help matters.

In closing this is a polarizing one for certain. If Wizard has a big surprise it had best be a big one, because right now it's dead in the water. OK, undead in the water, but at least they tried this week.

Probably a little on the small side, although I'm just going off the size of the skateboards.

Yeah maybe. I can't think of any other toy pushbikes, I'd consider purchasing a Beast just to have him in sweet pushbike poses on my shelf :lol

I do find it funny that the most amount of bike action this series has had was on a pushbike and from the secondary Rider.

I'm going to miss Beast when this is over. Sure Wizard has its flaws, but all series have them too and he's just a fun character.

Figuarts are around 6 inches, correct? Maybe there's pushbikes made in that scale.

I personally don't see the hype around Beast. He is a likeable character but people act like he saved the series, I personally think he feels like a spare part most of the time and most of his character development goes nowhere.

It doesn't help that he suffers from shitty secondary Rider upgrade syndrome.

Not a great episode, not a terrible episode. I haven't really hated the gates like every single other person seems to, but this one was a bit more likable than a lot of the others. I do think it is a touch of a copout to have Mayu use the generic rider suit from the movie, but meh, I've never gotten behind the "we have to have a female rider because we've never had a female rider" thing either, if we get one that's fine, if not then..oh well.

Just because you were in love with Wizard from the get go doesn't mean everyone else was.
Beast was what kept me going :p

I guess I just feel about OOO as you do about Wizard. Although if OOO makes a whole episode dedicated to bicycle riding I won't be giving it a 5/5, it'll still be getting a zero.

AND that said, Date doesn't feel like a spare part, he is crucial to the series and his character does actually develop and stay there. Beast just feels kinda forced and tacked on, I think we'd have been fine without him, at least in show. Entertainment outside of the show is a different kettle of fish.

Without the generic (and ugly) Mage outfit that they gave to Mayu I would've given this Excellent and another 5 stars on top of it. The cop-out really diminishes what is otherwise a good episode. The gate is a likeable kid who has a crush on an older girl and wants to impress her with his bikeriding skills, only to be foiled by the Phantom (who is weird looking but actually pretty powerful) and is despaired when he sees the girl he likes is hurt. Anyways Mayu will be doing more next week so I am looking forward to it.

Was that Decade's Kiva as the gate in this episode? Glad to see Mayu back, I do wish she had her own design and not the generic one. Budget I guess, and it's a female rider in the show so I can't complain too much.
