Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Grack Division Round 8
Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.
We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger. The current team consists of: Red Ranger: Carter Grayson Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman Blue Ranger: TJ Johnson Pink Ranger: Jen Scotts http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psdb528550.jpg The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords. Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded. Now that we’ve got that covered, Let’s Morphing! -+-+-+- Okay, one last round to go through and then it's on to the quarter-finals. We have two more Rangers to go through - neither one is a huge fan favorite, but both are more than deserving of a shot at the title. Zack "Of the nine fingers and the morpher of doom" Taylor http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps310afa56.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Zack_Taylor vs. Trip "I can read your minds - yes, the carpet matches" of Xybria http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps7a09de3a.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Trip Voting will last 24 hours. Will the original Black Ranger dance on to the next round? Will Trip's psychic abilities give him an edge? Which Ranger will reign supreme? Allez Ranger! |
Damn it damn it damn it!
|
Trip, sure we already have a time force but between these 2, Ill take the smart guy :lol
|
Hip-hop Kido defies all logic. Zack wins!
|
I need help with this one. Zack wasn't the best Black Ranger in my mind, Adam was, and I don't remember much about Trip.
Come on people, sway my vote. |

Since this isn't a favourtism battle, Zack would completely annihilate Trip, especially if he got Tommy to lend him the Dragon Shield. So I'm going for him, even if I may not like him as much as I do Trip.
|
This is a toughy. Zack was the better ranger when it came to fighting. Trip was smarter. Both were on about equal terms when it came to weaponry. So they're equal for the msot part. But one of them does have a very distinct advantage.
And that would be Trip. He can read minds, and he can see crimes before they're about to happen. Which means then even if this team had a Zordon like leader, Trip could probably see what was going to happen even before him/her. Zack really didn't have anything that special to bring. So, my vote goes to Trip. |

I don't remember Zack, at all. So this one goes to Trip.
|
Zack was the second in command, and always kept his cool. Trip was a goofball.
|
I finally decided on Zack. Solely because I remember more about him.

Anytime which Jason was unavailable, Zack would make the morph call. He clearly is the second in command. Tommy was never in a command role until he got the White Ranger powers. Tommy wasn't even there a good deal of the time after Green With Evil.

Zack.
I love Trip, and Time Force is leagues better than MMPR, but Zack. He's stronger, his arsenal was better, and he's a better fighter, additionally, Trip's power was used so sparingly I don't think even he remembers he has it. Katie's super strength it was not. He was laid back, but he wasn't mellow. He knew when to be serious while also keeping calm. And I like to assume Zack was 2nd in Command, too. I don't know if it was canon, but I just do (Where did the "Blue is 2nd" come from, anyway? Billy sure as hell wasn't, Rocky was Zeo Ranger Three, sure wasn't Justin, and the show kept trying to treat Carlos as 2nd in In Space (If I recall, it's because Black was leader in Megaranger, but I'm unsure), and I don't remember enough about LG to say it was [Whoever was blue in LG because I legit don't remember :lol])... |

So Adam doesn't qualify for the Black round, does he?
|
Pretty sure Adam was the stated second in command in Zeo as Zeo Ranger 4.
Then in Turbo, I'd say it was Adam and then Carlos, because Justin was not shown to be in command. In Space, uhh, not sure. And Kai seemed to be the lieutenant in LG. Orange Ranger, Adam was in round 1, and won in a landslide... |
has anyone in the Super Sentai ever been leader that wasnt the red?

Looking at the PR Wiki says that MegaBlack was lead.
GekiYellow was officially denoted the Captain of the Gekirangers. And I could never call DekaRed the leader of the Dekarangers. Better suited for...Literally any other Dekaranger. Also, wasn't Big One the leader of JAKQ? |

Must have happened so fast it slipped my mind. In Space TJ was basically co-commander. I think blue tends to be the #2 more of than Black/Green but there is enough of both. |

so timeranger follows time force then in that regard.
so why in these is red still prominently in front in footage? |

The Red is usually still the main character of the series, but not necessarily always the leader of their Sentai. |

i meant in terms of like battle footage. red shouldn't be leading into battle if they arent leader...

Zack for sure.Everyone goes on about how Trip can read minds, but there is a counter for that. It's called Hip hop kido. The whole point behind hip hop kido is it's randomness. All Zack would have to do is think of one move while doing a completely different one.Heck when he's doing hip hop kido he's probably just thinking of music. And that leads me to my other point as to why Zack would win.
Not only did he create a new martial arts style, but he created a new successful martial arts style.Heck he started teaching classes based on it during the series. |
I just went with Trip because the arguments for him were much more convincing.
|
Zack, always the Zack man.

Since "being second in command" merely equated to who gets to say "its morphin time" in the early seasons, the problem with Zeo is they all get to say it pretty frequently, even Kat and Tanya. There are episodes where it seems like Rocky and others where its Adam. It tends to lean toward Adam more with fans simply because 4 > 3 and he's the one who gets to drive the Red Battlezord when Tommy is absent that one time. |
Tommy was Zeo Ranger 5, so Adam being 4 makes better sense being the second in command.
Was it really SPD the first that solidly set blue as 2nd? |

I'm curious to know where the mentality that Blue being second in command came from, though. |
Since it's either do it now or wait until I get home from work at 11, I'm calling this round for Zack. First quarter-final will be up shortly.

Fuck!
