The Best Heisei Era Kamen Rider Series
 

Of all of the Kamen Rider series in the Heisei era, which is the best? And who is your favorite Kamen Rider from that series?

W, I may be a bit biased since it was my first Rider show but it hit all the right notes for me.

W, no contest in my book.

I have to go with Agito. I arguably love Hibiki more, but it has the drag factor that is the Inoue episodes, whereas Agito was brilliant from start to finish.

Though my user name and avatar may hate me after this, I can't choose :lol I love Den-O, Decade, and W but Id be hard pressed to pick from the 3.

W! But I really like Fourze and OOO a lot!

W for plot. If for pure awesomeness only. Decade.

As much as I love W, I'll have to be the one and only person that votes for Kiva.

I thought the plot was every bit as interesting as W's, and the suit designs are better. Plus, Kivat II and Kivat III have to be the best characters ever.

May become Fourze soon, if it keeps its act up.

Really tough call between Agito or W. Fourze is a contender too, but I can't make a call till it's run finishes.

I might be a little sad if it does.

I'm actually a bit surprised that Kuuga isn't ahead in the polls given how much everyone seems to like the series.

Honestly I didn't think Kuuga lived up to the hype when I finally got around to watching it. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but wasn't the "ZOMG AMAZING" that I was lead to believe it would be. But that's just me.

I think that the whole contest is a little weighted considering how many people were first brought into Rider by W. Personally, Kuuga is tied for third with W in my top five (behind Agito and Hibiki, with Blade at fifth).

I like this guy.

Kuuga was ok IMO, but hardly the best or even in the top 3. The thing that brings Kuuga way down for me was that horrible 2nd to last episode.

Yeah, the way they handled the first fight between Kuuga and Daguva was... weird.What I really like about Kuuga (and most of the early Heisei shows, although I think Agito and Kuuga did it best) was that it had a really mature feeling to it. Obviously it was still a show for kids, but it felt like it wasn't going to let that stand in the way of telling a compelling drama with some deep mysteries and interesting adult characters and issues. I haven't really gotten that feeling since Hibiki, especially with the main characters all skewing younger and younger.

Now I'm not saying that I need a Kamen Rider show to be like that, but I can't deny that having that sort of more mature feeling usually draws me into a show more (unless it's botched horribly like in Faiz).

Your not the only one, I loved the hell out of Kiva.

I liked Kiva too, for all the bad, dumb shit in it, there was a lot of good things too. But, there are a ton of problems that's preventing me from making it the best of the Heisei era.

This is difficult for me to answer. My personal favorite series is Agito. But Kuuga is the best Kamen Rider show ever created (IMO). But I also love Ryuki and Faiz...and Kabuto and W...This is why I can never answer these things. It would be easier to choose what my worst is :p :lol

Hearing all this love for Agito makes me want to watch it, but it doesn't look like there's a good, complete subbed release of it. Am I just not looking in the right places?

The Cruel Angel subs are still around online, it just takes a bit more digging than the traditional fansubs.

Yeah it took me a while to re-find them after deleting them after my first viewing. TVN is SLOWLY doing Agito now too, so they might be an option..........if they ever finish it.

You can probably tell which one I like ^_^ lol. But it's actually tied with Double for me. Loved both series :)

Faiz's my first Heisei rider show, also was my most fave show, shortly followed by Kabuto. But eh, I'm voting for W. It just perfect.

its a 3 way tie for kabuto, agito, and W for me, love all 3 for different reasons
