Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Sixth Division Round 5
Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.
We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger. The current team consists of: Red Ranger: Carter Grayson Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman Blue Ranger: TJ Johnson Pink Ranger: Jen Scotts Green Ranger: Adam Park http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psb4029f15.jpg The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords. Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded. Now that we’ve got that covered, Let’s Morphing! -+-+-+- And so the time comes again. To choose between qualified men. Their fight will be rough. For both Rangers are tough. It is up to you to choose; Who will win and who will lose. I'm writing like this because both of their names rhyme and I thought it would be clever. Eric "See, I told you he'd get his turn eventually" Myers http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pse312ab72.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Eric_Myers vs. Merrick "I hope you like this music video my girlfriend and I made at the mall" Baliton http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps219eeb17.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Merrick_Baliton Voting will last 24 hours. Will Eric prove the power of the brilliant color of quantum? Will Merrick prove the power of both the howling wolf and the douchey soul patch? Which Ranger will reign supreme? Allez Ranger! |
Ohhhhh that's a tough one. But I already know my answer.
Eric. I love Merric, he's awesome and has one of my favorite megazords/mecha EVER. But Eric was just better. He had the better training, the better equipment, and more of a brain when it came to being a member of the team and fighting. Plus, I think he just ahd a better character. Both had the same "bad but good" story. But Eric's was just better development wise to me. Merric was a good guy who turned evil. Eric was kinda the anti hero and teetered on both sides of the coin. And in the end, that helped him in his character arc. I may love the Predazord, but my vote goes to Eric. |
Onore Switchblade!
The best sixth ever, or one of the other sixths that is awesome! Eric, I mean I only like Merrick for the designs of WF/Gao and othere than that, dont remember much. I mean of course Eric can win this one. |
Eric. Merrick just didn't really handle well. He tried to do the atoner loner thing, but he just couldn't pull it off. Eric was abrasive and rude, but had a heart of gold. Adding that he hand a previous back story with Wes, it made things more interesting, where Merrick came out of nowhere and, chose to not work with them for some BS reason.
Also Merrick looked like my brother's roommate when he went to college, and I can't shake that :lol |
Merrick since he has a snooker/pool cue as a weapon.
Also Eric's an ass |
Merrick could kick Eric's ass in a game of pool?
*shrugs* |
Merrick.I would vote for Eric, but for what Merrick had to go through and how long he was a "ranger"/defender of animaria, means he has an untold amount of experience. He was also a very competent fighter. Also Eric's training was brought up.You mean his firearm use? I'm pretty sure the martial arts side was self trained, like Merrick.
That and Merrick just has a better attitude.Nothing against Eric, just took the entire season for people to finally go "Oh,he's nice".Also Merrick being around during the first Org attack ever gave him knowledge that he shared with the rangers, pretty much filling the mentor role most additional/sixth rangers fill.Well, more so then Eric.Eric did fill a semi mentor role, just because when he showed up to help he basically beat the monster and gave a "Thats how you do it" line. |
Eric was a member of a defense force.
Those teach more than how to aim, such as martial arts and disarming combat. |
Merrick. Because I can not begin to tell you how completely I hate Eric and Quantum Ranger.

hey switch, thanks for the mention of the color quantum!
still not sure who i am voting for. my two favorite sixths against each other... |

Shall we take who can beat who and think about another aspect of this? Personality.
Eric spent every waking moment since entering the scene, before and after obtaining the Quantam Powers, trying to screw Wes over. He cared nothing for the team or anyone outside of himself. Yea, there's a guy I want watching my back. Ignoring the fact he deserved to be no where near Forever Red, because he is not a Red Ranger and nothing you say or do will convince me otherwise. "Oh, but Sentai! He is Red! lol" Oh, but that doesn't matter. He's at best a Sixth. Merrick is an complished fighter. He commands a better power. He's not a dick. Vote for a man, not a whiney little child who thinks the best use of his power is screwing over his best friend. God I hate Eric. |
picturing the battle in my head, its close and merrick doesnt win every time but will 6-7 out of ten times. also looking at our lineup we already have a time force ranger
Erics just as Red as Aurico in that neither is team leader yet they are red nonetheless. |

Oh. I almost forgot his idiotic powered form. "I'm the biggest bad ass here! ph33r my Roller Blades! Grrrr!" |
because by your logic s1 tommy could only be considered a sixth ranger and not green, right?

Wes was a man who grew up with everything, got anything he wanted, and then threw it all away, but because he could while never being an actual rebel, he kept the unwavering support from his extremely wealthy father at all times. Eric had nothing, grew up with nothing, and struggled to get himself into school (Where he initially met Wes). He fought for everything. It's not him being a dick because he likes to. Wes became a ranger to spite his wealthy father. Eric became a ranger to prove his worth. You're trying to treat the situation in an extremely one dimensional manner by just taking his most obvious character trait (His abrasiveness) and only presenting it, not making mention of anything else he's done (Such as being completely willing to attempt to duplicate the Quantum Ranger powers so all the Silver Guardians could become rangers). |
then we can NOT ever refer to him as the 'green' ranger. just wanted to be sure that was the case
i had actually forgotten eric had tried to duplicate the quatum powers for the silver guardians. |

Meanwhile Merrick, once he got over moping after becoming human again, was completely selfless. A true Knight of Anamarium. He just deserves this over Quantam. Quote:

I actually can't decide, they're my two favorite 6th rangers.

Hurry, he's priced to move! |
Quote:
He was a raging idiot. :p |

I'm not saying he isn't the color red. His custume is very Red. But he isn't a Red Ranger in the sense of Time Force Red, or Mystic Force Red, or Wild Force Red. He's not Red in the sense of not being a Red Ranger like those others. He's a Sixth Ranger, in fact even in the original Timeranger series he was called Time Fire. His suit just happens to be that shade of color. |

Besides, admit it, this is basically a contest now of who loses to Tommy in the Final. |
Quote:
I went with Merrick because he was losing. I do not prefer one over the other, since I have not watched any of their respective series. |

Hell, going on a strict power vs. power, skill vs. skill basis, Mike is actually better than Tommy. |

And yes, I do hate him :lol So much. |

Which he was. A lot. Eric has both official training as well as combat experience. |

Plus, he uses a pool cue. Gun blade > pool cue |

You can vote for a Ranger who started off with a hug chip on his shoulder but gradually learned to trust others and become part of a team, eventually nearly sacrificing his life to save others. Or you can vote for this yahoo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFGrCQ__Uyg |

Merrick's just playing a simple flute. Who cares if he can't hack at Orgs with it? Woodwinds aren't supposed to be weapons. |

Just sayin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MACxpeiG_yA |

I feel much better about voting for Merrick now. P.S. What he's playing is a wooden piccolo, not a flute. |
