Go-Onger DX Kyoretsu-Oh/Engine-Oh G12 Gallery
22 Attachment(s)
As Tokunation continues to celebrate Power Rangers RPM we bring you yet another gallery from it's sentai source material, Engine Sentai Go-Onger! Today's gallery is of the mighty Kyoretsu-Oh, Known in RPM as the Paleomax Megazord!
Following the standard Go-Onger mecha formula, Kyoretsu-Oh is composed of 3 ancient Engines; Kishimammoth, T-Line, and K-Line. More bestial in nature than the other Engines, these 3 contain enough power to help form the mighty Engine-Oh G12! One of the largest sentai robo combos ever, and the originator of the cluster/stacker term that many fans use, the G12 is a thing of beauty. In the US the G12 is known as the RPM Ultrazord. Stay tuned this week for galleries of Go-Roader GT and Engine Dai Shogun! Want TokuNation.com updates on the go? "Like" us on Facebook and follow us @tokunation on Twitter!! |
Yes! Paleomax Megazord! My favorite out of all the combinations.. I mean come on! It was a giant, bright red, mastodon train mech! The heck you want?! And G-12.. I used to hate that thing. But it's become a thing of beauty that I must one day own.
|
I love the RPM Ultrazord. It's just so, well, look at it! It a hodgepodge of stuff!
And that's awesome. Coincidently, while I type this on my IPhone, Go-Onger's theme is playing. |
Dear Zordon, the ClusterF*ck Megazord. :lol I so want this thing, but from looking at prices, I am good.
After finishing RPM today, and a few episodes into GoOnger, I love how even the suit for this thing is huge! |

I sadly regret not getting these guys when they were released.
It would've looked awesome next to my Samurai Gigazord. |
I got us reales and it still good I'm just having trouble finding a valve max at good price
|
Such a great mecha. I mean what's not to love about a giant prehistoric train?
|
I want more train mechas! I was in love with the rumor that Kyoryuger was going to be about dinosaur trains.
|
G12 is nuts, but I never found Paleomax that great. It looks fin, but it's transformation was REALLY phoned-in. It just breaks apart and reforms in a way where a few simple hinges would have done. I know a lot of RPM zords do that, but this is the most glaring.
I like how it's head kind of looks like the original Megazord. Intentional given the animals used? |
All I can say is at least it looks like a single, cohesive robot unlike final combos that involve riding the final mecha into battle like Zyuranger, Dairanger, OhRanger, GekiRanger, Shinkenger, etc.

It's not overt, but it's just really similar to be coincidence. Maybe because they thought Power Rangers would end before RPM the Sentai designers threw in an homage? |

Those mecha were designed far far in advance of them being brought over here. I can promise you they don't design mecha and homage things in the original sentai versions of these shows so that it pans out better in Power Rangers. There's just no way to plan that kind of far ahead production and make it work out. It's similar, and as I said it's not the first sentai which has used a dino motif for the whole show or at least one robo. But seeing as at that point there were only 2 full dino sentais some similarities were bound to be exist. |

Advantage 2 of G12 over Go-Buster King is no spear weapon. I hold spear weapons as the epitome of "we don't know what to do with these leftover parts!" This belief was cemented when I got into Mugenbine. I swear Bandai's handbook has to have a section stating "Don't know what to do with remaining parts? Make a spear/staff!" |

With G12 you get one gigantic package with everything in a place that makes sense. Perhaps the only things that don't being Kyoretsu-Oh's waist piece and Engine-Oh's V-Shield just being tacked onto the legs. That part seems a bit odd but everything else makes complete sense. I also love the inversion of the arms and legs from G9-G12. How Birca and Gunpherd become glorified ankles and T-Line and K-Line get swapped up into arms but are still in the same basic position that they were in for Kyoretsu-Oh. |
This was always my favourite mecha from Go-onger. It's a mammoth-train that turns into a robot!
|
Does anyone know if there's a size comparison gallery of the BoA vs BoJ versions of G12?
|
well heres a pic of the american version compared to the original Dino Megazord
http://i676.photobucket.com/albums/v...dMegazord5.jpg and heres g12 compared to the supertrain http://oi38.tinypic.com/15n0x7p.jpg if you dont own Supertrain hes freakin massive and is slightly taller than an Armada Unicron, I think ive seen pics before that G12 is also as large as a Fort Max |
Only one I've got. The two biggest ones. The other two are the microzord and the Minipla model kit.

As you guys have so awesomely pointed out, the original BOJ releases dwarf the BOA imitators :D

why are the american rpm zords smaller than the japanese go-onger engines

The only color differences I can see is that the Kishamammoth is burgundy while the Mammoth Paleozord is standard red. A (rather unlikely) Reprolabels set could remedy some sticker and paint app problems alongside some Gundam markers. And while smaller, the RPM Ultrazord is easier to display. The Gigzord might be smaller than the Samurai HaOh, but the Samurai HaOh's giant motor could NEVER fit on the top of the bookshelf where I keep my Gigazord, Unicron, K'Nex Alive Fighting Phoenix and Beanie Baby "Ireland Bear Trio." As for plastic quality, I'll just take your word for it since I don't own either The RPM Zords or the DX Engines. Yet. |

But the quality being better is true. BOJ Engine G12 everything clicks together fine and feels 'solid' (aside from Jumbwhale's connection, and its not loose, just hving two small clips holding such a big back pack would never have been enough). On the BOA one there were way too much stuff that felt off. The additional arm upgrades all hand down loosely. Those heel things on G9 and G12 like to detach and so does the face guard on Buson (sorry I dont know the US names). Neither of the masks actually cover up Engineoh's face to a satisfactory level (unlike the BOJ one). Theres probably more but I'll leave it at that. |
I find other version of Engine-Oh 12 toy:
