Korean Kamen Rider W DX Roleplay Toys Hitting eBay?
 

I decided to look around on eBay today, and I thought I'd look for the Korean Kamen Rider W stuff out of curiosity. Turns out the stuff is out. You'll have to search under "Kamen Rider Double" as opposed to "Kamen Rider W".

Some of the listings say the memories are dubbed over with a different pronunciation, while others say they are the same... A little shady.

They are also really damn expensive compared to past years. The Fang Memory alone is over $70. It is, however, a lot better than the usual $200+ you'd have to pay for Japanese releases. I'm personally going to wait it out and see if the prices drop later on.

Thought some of you would like to know beings the W toys seemed to be quite the hot commodity.

...That's a whole bundle of disappointment. It does beg the question, "What the HELL are they going to do to the OOO Driver?". It's probably a good thing I own it already.

No kidding. I was totally counting on these for some Gaia Memory action on the comparative cheap. Sad ExVee is sad. :(

Its not TERRIBLE, but it is disappointing. The only one that REALLY bothers me is Luna. The others I think I can live with.

I have nothing so I guess I would just be happy to have something.

hmm, I might nab this...I never bought the W Driver, but I did buy Joker & Skull Memories, think they'd fit?

They're different? They sound almost the same to me. Just slightly deeper.

It's a different guy doing the voices. Fumihiko Tachiki has a very distinctive voice.

I might buy the Lost Driver since I plan on getting the original Skull Magnum. As long as the JP gaia memories fit in it I dont mind at all....since I have T2 Joker too :p

Well, phooey. If the sounds were the same, this'd probably have become my first venture into plastic belts.

I listened to both back to back now. The original sound clip drags out a bit more with an "a" sound. tAlso, this one is slighty deeper. I might want to get it since the sound differences are minor. Only the Lunar memory sounded off to me.

Hmm... is there a video out of the Fang memory? I want to know how bad that one sounds before I buy it. It really is the only one that I want that's left. I will be getting a Korean Lost Driver to go with my Skull memory :D

I was looking forward to getting these, shame they changed the voices. The Driver should still probably work for the Japanese memories, but I only have 3 and half of the toy is the memories it comes with.

Makes me a little bit happier I payed eBay prices a while back. Just a bit :p

damn what a dissapointment, i was hoping to snag a trigger magnum and metal shaft for my little brother, but he won't want these cause the voice is changed, he is very picky :lol

at least they didn't change the decadriver, glad to have that korean decadriver

ah, so one is more like "Joker!" and the Japanese one is more like "Jokah!" I wonder why the change?

It's odd they went to trouble to replicate the original. Maybe they weren't allowed to use those voice clips?

I doubt it, they used all the Decade sound effects fine.

I imagine it's because they're doing a dub of Double and not just subtitling it and some of the memories are probably extremely problematic (Anomalocaris and Quetzalcoatlus jump to mind) so they want their own guy to do the noises.

While they aren't perfect, these Korean toys will at least give those of us that are new enough to have missed out on the Japanese toys to own them at a decent price. Just to find a Double Driver alone for less than $100 is a steal compared to eBay prices. I'll probably bite, but might pick up some Japanese memories down the road.

I hope they dont mess up the Lost Driver.....oh wait, I dont really care about the Eternal memory as long as I can use my Skull Memory XD

One does not replace the epic W Driver voices, it simply isn't right.

On a related note, it would seem Korean Everything is hitting eBay about now, namely Faiz stuff, which is good, since aftermarket prices on Faiz items are generally just as bad as W.

In fact, I've an almost complete set of Kaixa gear on the way (sans Blaygun, basically.), I would have gotten Faiz gear, but rather inexplicably, it seems to average just under half of what I paid for the Kaixa stuff, it's cool though, because Kaixa is awesome.

I recently grabbed Kaixa's driver, shot, and pointer all Korean and aside from the small Korean txt on the phone's rubber numbers, the sounds, look, and feel were all the same and it saves a few hundred bucks for very minor differences.
