The Best Heisei Era Super Sentai Series (2001-2011)
 

Of the Super Sentai titles released from 2001 to 2011, which is the best?

I'll vote on this one when gokai is over. I like to make my choices based on a full series run.

Gokaiger, since I pretty much owe my proper interest in the franchise because of it.

If that wasn't there it would be Magiranger though.

Same, I normally don't have interest in Super Sentai aside from the VS movies, and very rarely do I sit through an entire series, but Gokaiger has just been pretty damned fantastic.

Gokaiger is amazing- it should almost be just taken as read that it's the best.

Beyond it... Deka or Boukenger.

thats a tough one, Gokaiger is kickass but Gekiranger is also kickass. and I love me some Boukenger, Shinkenger and Go-Onger

I'd say Shinkenger. Mainly because I can't rate Gokaiger till its complete, and Shinkenger stands completely on its own merit. To enjoy Gokaiger fully, you need to have at least seen some past Sentai series IMO. Not like that's a bad thing though.

I disagree. I know a few people that have never seen any sentai outside of Gokaiger, and seeing it makes them want to check out the past shows. I think gokaiger can stand alone really.

Like me. I'd seen a bit of Shinkenger and tried and failed to watch Goseiger, but Gokaiger is the first show that's really hooked me on Sentai. I've watched a bunch of older Sentai episodes after watching Gokaiger - mostly first episodes to see what the real shows were like. I do intend to try watching some of the older shows all the way through, though, mostly Changeman and Liveman since they have the most subbed episodes.

Sun Vulcan is getting subbed and the group doing it releases 1 episode a week. All of Gaoranger is also subbed. Liveman episodes 1-10 are in the process of getting V2's from GUIS. They are fixing the scripts, translating what wasn't full translated before, and doing other fixes.

I think they're all getting V2'd eventually because they're using DVDrips now. The quality in some of the original sources is noticeably bad.

That's another reason as well. The priority is on 1-10 though because those had some issues that the head of GUIS wanted to fix.

I'd go with Gekiranger.

At least, personally. I love Gokaiger too, though sometimes it lags for me in non-tribute episodes later on. Though like Drakkhen has stated, it's not over yet so yeah.

Gokaiger, followed by Shinkenger

In case you missed it last year, TV Asahi aired a Super Sentai 35th Anniversary special before Gokaiger aired. Based on a poll they conducted, here are the top five Heisei era Super Sentai titles:

1. Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (2009)
2. Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger (2004)
3. Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger (1992)
4. Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger (2002)
5. Engine Sentai Go-onger (2008)

It was obvious that Shinkenger and Dekaranger would dominate this list, as both are immensely popular in Japan. Zyuranger was somewhat of a surprise, as it really wasn't that good. But then again, it gets recognition because it was the basis for Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Such a shame that Choujin Sentai Jetman, Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Ninja Sentai Kakuranger Mirai Sentai Timeranger, Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger and Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger didn't make the list.

2001-2011 top 3 for me:

1)Shinkenger
2)Dekaranger
3)Boukenger

I know I'll take flack for that last one :lol

Having Gokaiger and Shinkenger in this poll is so unfair to all the other ones.

I voted for Gokaiger, of course.

Although I love Gokaiger, it was Dekaranger that got me back into Super Sentai after over a decade.

Go-kaiger - GOKAI CHANGE!
Shinkenger - I personally think they had the best casting. Also kudos for pulling off the Kanji motif.
Go-onger - Suits are my favorite
Gekiranger - My favorite 3-member team pre-Go-busters. Rio is awesome as a villian.
Dekaranger - Cops + sentai done well
Hurricanger - Shurikenger FTW

This is easy and hard at the same time. Easy because AbaRanger, GekiRanger, and Gokaiger are the only series I feel are even worth mentioning for this era of Sentai, as this era brought us some of the worst Sentai has ever offered (Deka, Go-On, and Gosei). However, it is hard to say which one of the three is superior. GekiRanger has some extremely well done choreography, also the villians like Rio and Mele were complex and highly developed, AbaRanger had incredible moments thanks to AbareKiller and the subplot between Jannu, AbareBlack, and Rije is top notch. While Gokaiger has an excellent ranger cast and shows how to do an anniversary series right, but I'm going to wait until Gokaiger ends before I make my pick here.

I'm goin with Gaoranger,then Gekiranger,then Shinkenger.I dont know what it is about it,but I just like Gaoranger the best.At the time it was released,it was really,really good.Just the flow of the story and how the actors well,acted,seemed so smooth.

I don't hate GaoRanger, hell, it was my first Sentai series. I just found that after watching other series that it was mediocre. The Loki introduction is still pretty badass though.

I have to vote for Dekaranger. It was a great, action packed series with plenty of good characters, great stories and two of the Hottest female leads ever!

Everyone has their favorites, but in the end, Gokaiger dominates this category.

In this era, I've seen and enjoyed Dekaranger, Hurricaneger, Magiranger, Shinkenger, and Gokaiger, and if I have to pick one I'd choose between Magiranger, Shinkenger, and Gokaiger. I need to think about this some more before I cast my vote.

I'm torn between Gokaiger and GekiRanger. GekiRanger had way better villians, and a great story to go with them, but the Gokaigers had the anniversary flare and crossovers.

I loved the hell out of Gokaiger but im honestly not sure that I could pick between it and Boukenger.
