Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Sixth Division Semi-finals Round 2
Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.
We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger. The current team consists of: Red Ranger: Carter Grayson Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman Blue Ranger: TJ Johnson Pink Ranger: Jen Scotts Green Ranger: Adam Park http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psb4029f15.jpg The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords. Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded. Now that we’ve got that covered, Let’s Morphing! -+-+-+- And so the tradition continues. Once again we have a match that could easily be the grand finals. This time, though, there's no obvious wrong choice that too many of you made. Jerks. :( Tommy "The dream killer" Oliver http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps27faf5b7.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Tommy_Oliver vs. Anubis "Doggie" "Is it just me, or does my wife kinda look like an alien lizard/dog Whoopie Goldberg?" Cruger http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pseeec6a57.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Anubis_Cruger Voting will last 24 hours. Will Tommy continue his seemingly relentless charge to the finals? Will his reign of terror meet its end at the hands of the man/dog/lizard who took down 100 foot soldiers in two minutes? Which Ranger will reign supreme? Allez Ranger! |
Look! I didn't vote for Tommy! And there's a very good reason for that. You see, Kruger is just stronger. Shadow Ranger's abilities, plus the decades of experience, plus the natural fighting skill of Doggie just brings him out far ahead in this one. Tommy just isn't that brand of Leader. He has power, sure. But he never inspired anyone like Kruger. Even his own students in Dino Thunder barely listened. Even after finding out their Teacher was an Ex-Ranger.
If you look at this honestly. And be honest with yourselves people if no one else. Then you'll Vote for Kruger too. |
This is probably the best match up we've had and why I wished Tommy would have made it in as Grack. Sorry Doggie my 7-year-old self says I have to vote for Tommy.

Expert Swordsman And yes. See Tommy was always the defacto leader ever since he gained the White Tiger Power. And that is what we're counting him has here, White and Green. Not Black or Red. And he never once inspired any of his teammates, or made them better in any way. He was a LINO. Leader in Name Only. While Kruger did so much to help the B-Squad even before becoming Shadow. Helping them grow has people, as teammates, showing them each what they could truely accomplish. Saving kat, by himself, through one hundred enemies in under two minutes. Kruger is just better. |
I have a hard time bashing Kruger in any way except that he left them hanging a lot and was grumpy for no season. Tommy had the problem of being in the 90's fashionwise but his powers were great. Both have years of experience and Tommy brings more years as a Ranger to the table, even with just Green/White on his resume. Can't complain either way since Tommy should have been the Green of this team but I won't vote against the guy since he just doesn't lose. He certainly never lost his whole planet only to barely survive. I think that Kruger prefers not to fight and we should respect his wishes :D

Kruger.
Years of experience to the point that he's a capable leader on and off the field, in addition to being a ranger? Check. Battle training while forming the first SPD, in addition to formal training once SPD was established, and tons of field experience? Check. Cool, calm head, being wise enough to almost always make the call but having enough emotion to be a character? Check. Able to inspire and raise morale in dire situations? Check. There's a reason why Kruger is SPD Supreme Commander, while Tommy just lounges around the pool lazing around. |

Let the train wreck begin.Kruger is the better choice by far.He has more strength, better fighting skills(he proved that in his first fight),He suffered an incredible loss and still fought through it to become an amazing commander,he leads an entire planet's special police force, not just the SPD squads. He just is better in every way.
Tommy only has martial arts.He wasn't a good leader seeing as how most of the plans were thought up by the others and he just said "good idea",he fell for way too many traps, and he got his powers taken, almost twice. The only reason he became White Ranger was because he was the Green Ranger, lost his powers,so Zordon had to give him new powers which couldn't be lost.In other words,a fail safe.He had to be protected, instead of doing the protecting. Oh and to those that didn't vote for him in Grack,I told you Tommy was much more qualified for that, now if he wins we know its just for popularity. |
Kruger is an alien. Therefore he probably ages differently than a human.
Why would that matter? Kat Manx is 130. I think. If Kat was over a century old and looked like she was only in her late 20s-early 30s, then one could say Kruger is also older than his rubber snout makes him look. For if Commander Birdy is really old, and Kruger was alive befor SPD went galactic, then Kruger probably has alien longevity and can develop Elvin prowess that Tommy in his "lucky to live a century" humanity can never achieve. Hell, Kruger was in charge of the precinct before B-Squad (who are 20-something highly trained [sans 2] police officers) was born. Kruger should win Sixth. |

Well I did say he was the only one I'd vote for over Tommy, but I was hoping RJ would be out of here before then. Also, this is a popularity contest it is undeniable.
|
Yes, Kruger should win... but how the hell would his nose fit inside Gokai Silver's helmet?

He didn't spend every waking moment inside SPD HQ pouting and crying over a picture of his lost wife. Like you seem to be implying. He sucked it up and did his damn job. |
Never implied anything of the sort. I did say that Kruger has CLEARLY stated he would prefer not to fight. He's best running things and having others to do the fighting. Why would you want him on this team as a fighter when there is someone else that could do it? Even your argument is much more for Kruger as a mentor than a proper 6th. As I said I like both characters but apparently the Tommy hate is in vogue so someone has to stick up for the guy. At least Eric is gone already.

You don't train up legions of soldiers just to do their jobs for them.
Those rangers are Cruger's legacy. The purpose of training them was so that he didn't need to fight. You don't work your way up to manager and then go out and start working the registers again. It's the difference of being a leader, and coddling your subordinates. Tommy never knew how to lead. Tommy's strategy: Connor or Kira having an issue? Let Hayley solve it or fight their battle for them. Jack or Skye having an issue? Cruger took action, pulled back on the reigns, or imparted wisdom as needed. |

Tommy, I didn't care for Kruger at all. And before someone tells me it isn't a popularity contest, given Tommy's massive range of experience and ability to switch in and out of lots of different positions on a team, makes him a pretty great member of the team. It just sucks that it's cool to hate on him, making it a reverse popularity contest when it comes to votes.
|
Good to see Tommy isn't winning. I love the guy, but Kruger just outmatches him in every possible way.
|
MAn this is a hard choice they are both amazing but MMPR was my favourite growing up so Tommy
|
RIP Kruger, your vote lead was great while it lasted.
|
I thought the 'its cool to hate on Tommy' crowd may have won out again. im glad they didn't.

It's ok though, the nostalgia group is coming and Tommy will win. |
Once again the majority is wrong. It has nothing to do with 'It's cool to hate Tommy'. I don't. But there is no way he wins this battle. To many people are voting for the wrong reasons.
