Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Sixth Division Grand Finals
Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.
We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger. The current team consists of: Red Ranger: Carter Grayson Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman Blue Ranger: TJ Johnson Pink Ranger: Jen Scotts Green Ranger: Adam Park http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psb4029f15.jpg The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords. Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded. Now that we’ve got that covered, Let’s Morphing! -+-+-+- It's been a long ride - we started this project back in April, for crying out loud - but we're finally at the end. There's one Ranger left to go on the ultimate team and now it's time to decide once and for all who the ultimate Sixth Ranger will be. On one side we have the very first Sixth Ranger - a skilled martial artist, a veteran field commander, and a mentor and inspiration to a younger team. On the other we have a Ranger who admittedly only qualified for this round due to there being no better place for him. Still, he's a master of kung fu, a calm and collected mentor to his own team, and a man with enough technical know-how to design and build his team's morphers. Tommy "See me; feel me; touch me; SIH-AIYAAAA!!" Oliver http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps27faf5b7.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Tommy_Oliver vs. Robert "Zen and the art of pizza making" James http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psb74d579f.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Robert_James Voting will last 24 hours. Will a loving wave of nostalgia carry Tommy to victory? Will the backlash against said nostalgia give RJ the edge? Which Ranger will reign supreme? For the final time: Allez Ranger! |
A doctorate in archaeology is not going to help you in battle unless you're fighting a sphinx. This is not that battle. This is super-powered human being vs. super-powered human being. In terms of powers, R.J. and Tommy are evenly matched. However, I believe that R.J.'s superior intellect gives him the advantage. In addition to being a literal master of one of the most powerful forms of martial arts (being one out of 11), R.J.'s quick thinking and calm demeanor would allow him to make decisive and rational choices on the field of battle that would allow him to win.

I am going to school you in why Rj deserves this. While you tell me I'm only hating on Tommy.
RJ did something Tommy has never done throughout his years as White Ranger. And remember, this is Tommy has White Ranger Only. He had his chance has Zeo Red, Turbo Red, and Dino Thunder Black. RJ led his team. He made each invidual member of his team better. He inspired them, he trained them, he fought along side them instead of doing the fighting for them. His aloof Zen, his Mastery of Martial Arts, his Command of the Wolf Spirit, his Skill as a Leader, all combine to make him better than Tommy in this part of the tournament. |
If I were to vote, I'd pick RJ. Since people believe JDF to be the "face" of power rangers, just let him automatically be the American AkaRed.

That idea could have just solved every problem the 6th ranger tournament had. Make tommy the american akared by default to have had more fair match-ups.

Or an AkaTeam? I think I have a theory on Dairanger's purpose in being in PRSM! |

EDIT: Also after hearing about JDF only saying that this is only a MMPR 20th I feel that one of the stronger Disney era Rangers will work out for the best here. Nothing against Jason, but we do want the cream of the crop here, right? |

And Zordon never spoke of this because of some random deus ex machina. |

Here's the thing that confuses me. I figured for the fight part of this Tommy is only using his Green/White powers but are we actually pulling Tommy from the past if he makes this team or is just this post-DT using these powers? That was never really made clear in this. Like would characters from future time lines have knowledge that could help about the events of this team? Secondly, I've seen this whole thing as not just who would win in a fight since a lot of these guys would probably be evenly matched but as who would fit better on this team. As in who would be the best Gokai Silver. Anyway, I think Tommy was best for Grack and all this could have been avoided. I haven't seen Jungle Fury but from what I've heard here and the little bit I read RJ seems a bit more active than a typical sixth (more like the Thunder Ninjas). Don't know where else would have gone with his color. Personally I would have liked to see Ryan in the final cause then I would have an actual choice to make. |

That being said,I have nothing against Tommy.Like I said before,I just think he was better qualified to win Grack because he had way more experience and knowledge under his belt at that point (Power too).I just think that during his Green/White Ranger days,he wasn't that great of a leader. He was honestly more of a follower/auxiliary weapon.Everytime a plan was made,it was by one of the regular 5 MMPR and Tommy just agreed and said "Let's go guys!" |
Wait, when was it announced that the Dairangers would be in Super Megaforce?

He's in has the White Ranger. Which means he only has the experience and abilities he had when he had those powers. |
I swear, if Tommy wins, I am going to call a complete redo of this poll (meaning start this whole thing over) and exclude Tommy.

Maybe I missed the rule that clearly and explicitly stated something like that. Seems it has been mostly on the fly and people decide what does or doesn't go based on what they prefer. All it says is "Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them." Would just mean Tommy is using Green/White powers. That's why I asked if there was some pulling people from the past or not because it isn't stated or implied. Not much an issue since most Rangers didn't last more than one season and their team up. Would be silly to me to pull Tommy as 6th or Jason as Red and not have them grown up and mature when joining this team. We are assuming every other ranger has aged. Then again Tommy will be green and white in Super Megaforce. The point was that a lot about this whole thing is subjective even though people are trying to make it black and white. Saying that "soandso would 100% beat whatshisname in a fight" doesn't make it scientific fact. People have their opinions and interpretation of how things would go down that is why nearly every character has gotten at least some votes. Quote:

This Poll has nothing to do with Super Megaforce x . x

I vote we DQ Tommy, make him AKARed, and redo the Grand Finals with Kruger and RJ.

Tommy's gonna take it. An early lead means nothing (Both Kruger and Eric had early leads on Tommy and lost in the end). |

Seriously, are we gonna add RJ to the group instead of Tommy?

Not because I dislike Tommy. But because I love spite. |

But that was my tournament and I had all the right to do that. This is Switchblade's, and he has all the right to conduct it as he pleases. |
No one ever said this was exclusively MMPR era Tommy, so I'm voting for Tommy as White/Green in modern time because of Megaforce. RJ doesn't have a chance versus that guy.
