Kamen Rider Gaimu Full Story, Cast, and Other Details!
 

After the offiicial launching of their new main page and the associated press conference, we now have several new details about the 15th Hesei Era Kamen Rider!

*The story of Kamen Rider Gaimu will take place in a corporate-controlled city and the main monsters are known as Inbess creatures. In addition, street dance is the common ground between the locals and the Kamen Riders.

*There are FIVE main Riders this year, all of them fruit themed using special devices called Lock Seeds to utilize various forms and powers. Gaimu uses Orange and Pineapple LockSeeds for his main form. The other four Riders are Baron (Banana themed) Ryugen (Grape themed), Griton (Coconut themed) and Zangetsu (Melon themed).

*Kamen Rider Gaimu's true name is Kota Kazuraba, and he will be played by Sano Gaku. He is a backup dancer for one of the street crews and meets the other Kamen Riders through his dancing experiences.

*Baron is the rival Kamen Rider to Team Gaimu, known as Kaito Kumon in human form; a power-hungry warrior who despises the weak. Ryugen is Gaimu's best friend, a secretly-wealthy schoolboy. Zangetsu is Ryugen's older brother, working at the mysterious Yggdrasil Corporation that owns their city.

*The series' main writer is one Gen Urobuchi who has previously worked on a variety of anime projects including Fate/Zero and Magi Madoka. Gaimu will be directed by Ryuta Tasaki, veteran of multiple Rider and Sentai projects.

*The opening theme will be performed by Shōnan no Kaze a Japanese reggae group.

Welcome to the Rider War Kota!

While I lack any general excitement about the show, I remain curious. The grape Rider has a cool design though...

At least it is different then the last 4 years of 1 rider with multiple upgrades and different colored suits.

Yep my earlier hunch was correct. Toei if you want to experiment with new hero's that's fine but, don't slap "kamen rider" just to get people to try and watch it.

It does look a bit like one of the Chinese Super Sentai knock offs don't it?

Well this is not what I expected. I think I like the first picture we got a couple of days ago better. While these new pictures are in better quality and show all the riders, I just don't know. Maybe they will grow on me but, the story of the city being controlled by monsters and the people dancing is just to me a bit weird.

I'm sorry...but WHY FRUIT!!???? Elements...metals...music...vehicles...of course weapons...animals...but Fruit??? The story and fights have got to be amazing to compensate...they have to...

...Oh wow. Things are not going to end well for the people in this series. Though I must say it's kinda neat the guy who wrote what is basicaly a Magical Girl shout out to Ryuki is now in charge of writing a Rider series. I loved Fate/Zero and Madoka, so hopefully he can bring his good stuff into this.

If this is dance oriented, then I expect the superhero time opening to be a dance off between the 5 riders and kyoryugers.

Oh yeah, with the Urobutcher writing, a lot of kids are going to get traumatized

Banana themed rider :), if there's something I can get behind for in this show, it would have to be a banana themed rider. The designs are different enough from the past several series as to be distinct; but the show will have to sell me on the fruit theme.

Oh and, FEMALE RIDER FROM THE START?! I'm gonna have to applaud Toei for this one, very unexpected, very awesome.

Seeing that Gen Urobuchi may be involved with the writing means we could see some interesting stuff happening here. For all we know, we could be getting a second coming of Ryuuki.

Things could look fine one minute and then BAM one of the main riders is dead.

So is one of the riders female?

And I still remain very skeptical due to the fruity themed. Why do none of the riders look flaming? :-p THere has to be a character like Fire Emblem from Tiger & Bunny in this thing!! Nevertheless, god, this thing is going to be the most kid friendly series yet.

Let's just hope there's no mind rape involve.

Female rider, Gen Urobuchi, and fruit-themed street-dancing samurai? This sounds pretty off-the-wall. I'm all for it. I'm calling banana lance to be Sayaka.

Plus are am I the only one thinking of bleach when it comes to Zangetzu

Nope, as a matter of fact i want to see him team up with kamen rider ichigo for the full joke.

I don't know about that one - notice that the four guys are holding Lock Seeds and the girl isn't.

I'm not really sure what to think about this. I don't watch anime anymore, so I know very little about the writer's others shows beyond just some stuff I've heard about Madoka. I'm always up for a new writer on the franchise, though, instead of just bringing back Kobayashi or Inoue again. I'm kinda iffy on the suit designs, though, and the concept of more dancing worries me after Kyoryuger. The plot also sounds a little close to the new Garo series from that small blurb. Still, I'll definitely watch it and hope it turns out awesome.

At the very least, none of the characters is dressed like Shunpei.

I like the idea of 5 main Riders. Biggest selling point of this show for me!

This somehow reminds me of Den-O.

I'm surprised they didn't make a strawberry Rider. That though I guess that might have caused confusion in Taisens/Movie Wars :lol.

I kinda get a Kabuto vibe from some of the suit designs. The grape theme in particular reminds me of Drake. The street dancing reminds me of Ryutaro/Ryutaros from Den-O. Sounds like it'll be goofy that's for sure. I was kind of hoping for a more serious series but if this show is anything like Den-O I'll be a happy camper.

The new Garo series' plot is also very similar to Ultra Seven X's plot, so it's not that original. Kobayashi or Inoue got nothing on Urobutcher, this guy's writing is very much never ending darkness. This is the guy who almost died in an epidemic, that he choose to put dark, tragic settings and plot twists in his stories. This is the guy who said that he can no longer write happy endings to his stories as he put it:
"I have nothing but contempt for the deceitful thing men call 'happiness', and find myself with no choice but to push my characters, whom I pour my heart and soul out to create, into the abyss of tragedy."

This is a writer who is influenced by H.P. Lovecraft novels and the cosmic horror genre.
No, Inoue and Kobayashi got shit on him.

While he has mellowed somewhat recently, I hope he will bring some of his trademark nihilism to the series. To anyone who thinks this will be cheerful like Den-O, think again

And here I thought Dino themed Semba dancing Super Sentai was a weird idea but fruit themed street dancing Kamen Rider really takes the cake. Ugh.

Oh, I have no problem with darkness - I'm just tired of Inoue and Kobayashi's personal writing tics (although I am curious to try Inoue's new show and see if any of the old magic is still there - I suspect he's just gotten burned out on Rider and something fresh might draw out more inspiration. Also, Keita Amemiya). I like seeing Toei branch out with new writers.

If it is what you say it is, it will be the opposite for me. I'm no fan of horridly depressing things, and his body of work seems that way. We'll see how this goes.

judging by those pictures the female rider is Coconut, you can see the colors of the seeds in the others hands but she has her hand down and you cant see hers. but hey a female rider, maybe Toei is finally giving into it

What is it with Toku and dancing lately?

First we have Kyoryuger, now Gaimu!:lol

So the chick is Griton? That is like the most masculine looking suit out of the lot.

Oh man, if they make a third super hero taisen in the next year, I expect Kyoryuger and Gaimu to start break dancing tofether, with special appearance by Ryuutaros an Momotaros :lol

I'm actually pretty interested.

I predict that there will be an evil, sixth Rider who will be Durian themed.

Now I have a theory since Urobuchi is writing:

What if Gaimu's final form is composed of the lock seeds of the other 4 riders, who end up dying one by one as the series progresses?

It's not like death is off-limits in toku and I can totally see that happening.

I'd end up watching regardless of the plot and designs, they'll just be what keep me hanging around. So far I dig all the Riders and the premise sounds pretty good, so we'll see if it hooks me like Fourze or leaves me Meh like Wizard.
