Do people think Saban will do Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters?

Or skip over and jump right into Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger?

Kyoryuger seems to stand out a bit more than Go-Busters a bit more with its large cast, dinosaur-motif and so on. And apparently Go-Busters wasn't popular in Japan if articles I read are to be believed?

I think they'll still do Go-Busters. It helps that the devices actually say "It's Morphin Time!". Plus, I think Saban is contractually obligated to adapt the Sentai series without skipping one.

I really hope they can break the deal with Nick soon. The "2 seasons of 20 episodes" setup really doesn't work; they're falling way behind the Sentai adaptations and if they have to keep combining multiple source shows then things could end up going horribly wrong.

They'll still probably do Go-Busters. It may not have worked that well in Japan, but who knows it could be a big hit here in the states.

But clumping two completely different series ala Mighty Morphin is fine?

I think that delay only happened with Super Samurai because Nick needed more money. And its not like were aren't getting the Gokaiger adaptation next year so its not getting "slowed down" in a sense. Although 20 episodes a season is probably the most painful thing Saban could be put under. Yeah, its less episodes to edit and shoot over 2 years but the story is probably under a hell of a lot of stress for needing to be told in only 20 episodes.

Gobusters will be after Super megaforce. If we keep getting 2 seasons of the same characters with different Sentai series adapted with 40 episodes a year instead of 20, I would like that. So the Gobusters will turn into the Kyoryugers and we will have another Tommy cameo LOL.

Why does everyone keep thinking Saban will skip a season, why is everyone in such a rush to get to the Kyoryuger adaptation? I mean if it's the case that you think Kyoryuger is awful and want to see if Saban can do something better with it, then I'm with you there but Power Rangers hasn't skipped a season, as far as I am aware, for like eighteen years so I dunno why they'd suddenly do it now.

Even though the problem is Nickelodeon not giving an episodic action series enough time to deliver a story. Hell, maybe Toei could negotiate. After all, the contract says Saban must use a certain amount of Sentai Footage in every season of Power Rangers. If Nickelodeon's restraints prove too taxing with Megaforce and Super Megaforce, oh who am I kidding? Power Rangers is being screwed over by its savior. The theme song roll call, the lack of a real theme song, the seasons being restrained by Nickelodeon trying to hold this franchise to the caliber of iCarly. It's disgusting.

Saban should just sell PR back to Disney, hell I'd love to see them join the Star Wars and Marvel party. Now if disney could buy American rights to Kamen Rider....... Heaven a bliss. Tommy vs Darth Vader anyone?

I've always said Disney were better than Saban, despite constant threats to cancel it, they put in more effort and money than Saban has ever had. It's extra fun now that once Saban devotees who hated Disney out of principle wish to go back to a time when Neo Saban didn't exist.

Yeah. But Disney should really just by Saban Brands. That way, Disney can leave Power Rangers to its own devices like with Marvel and Star Wars. Disney almost killed PR, yes, but that was because they only owned the franchise. Give the company that created PR and let said company continue airing the series on Disney XD and we could achieve something from the Halcyon Days of Fox Kids!

But not everybody may have XD (I have it but that's beside the point). So who knows if tucking it away there would help bring in viewership statistic.

If Disney still had the rights to Power rangers i assume Labrats would be the Gobusters adaption.

I totally disagree. PR's strongest creative period was from the 2nd half of Turbo to the end of Time Force. I think when people that know what they're talking about (I.E. they remember more than MMPR), the Saban they want to see is that one.

I been a PR fan since the start of Zeo and i may be the minority here but i preferred a lot of the Disney series over the Saban era ones. Not saying that i didn't like In Space thru Time Force but i just had more enjoyment with SPD, Dino Thunder, Jungle Fury and RPM.

1) Saban Brands can not skip seasons. It's in the contract with Toei. We're getting Go-Busters.

2) As much as I hate the 20 episodes a year thing, Saturday mornings on broadcast TV is not a good place to air new shows. Nowadays, those hours are for reruns of cable kids shows. I'm not the biggest fan of Nick, but at this time Nick is a good place for Power Rangers. It's a major cable network with high viewership and the show has a decent time slot.

3) I trying not to think to much about it since Megaforce still has half a season to go. That said, a couple of thoughts popped into my mind. The main one being an indirect sequel to RPM, which won't happen. The other being what if they kept the Megaforce cast. This would mean Beet Jake Stag. :p

I'm going to take a guess that the Go-Busters adaption is not going to have anyone from Megaforce back and it'll be an all new cast. Either that or explain why in the beginning only three of them remain to be changed into new Rangers and then the other two show back up later (they went to a peace conference :lolol).

It took then from the beginning of MMPR all the way til the halfway point of Turbo to finally have an all-new cast take over way back when the seasons kept jumping into the next Sentai show's zords. At least by Zeo though they stopped using the Zyuranger costumes.

From what I always understood and I may be wrong...

Samurai was actually a rushed season - hence the nearly identical storyline and dialogue to Shinkenger. I want to say one of the stunt guys wrote on his blog how everything was rushed and the decision was made to keep it as close to the Sentai as possible, both because it proved popular in Japan and because it would cut down on production time ... it's easier to "Americanize" a story than it is to create a whole new one and find footage to match what you're trying to make.

With Megaforce, they had more time and developed a more original story which apparently only gets better with Super Megaforce (though I'm being very skeptic about that claim). The stunt guy said they shot a LOT more American footage for Megaforce and Super Megaforce than they ever did for Samurai or Super Samurai combined.

Gobusters will happen. Saban is contractually obligated to adapt and use the footage. It would be stupid to try and fit Kyoryuger in to the Gobusters theme because they are SO different (even more than Goseiger/Gokaiger).

Not that it would stop him from trying.

I'd love to see what he'd try before another exec tells him to give up and make them separate shows :p

Y'know, while there is a small amount of empirical evidence (Megaforce using Gosei footage rather than skipping to Gokai), I've never actually heard a real source say that not skipping over any series is a contractual obligation. Is there any interview with Saban people or a news article I've missed?

From the PowerMorphicon before Megaforce was announced. Someone hugh up confirmed that Megaforce will be Goseiger because they cannot contractually skip seasons.

I still believe that the Goseiger adaptation would have worked better as a Mini-Series (like the alien rangers) that lead directly into the events of Gokaiger/Super Mega, introducing the Zangyack (or whatever they'll be called), and the Legend War while keeping the Gosei/Gokai cast separate. Dedicating the Gosei footage to introducing Zangyack would have rised the stakes and made it feel as if they were a big threat worthy of the ultimate ranger team-up

Plus that way they would have been able to show the 20th anniversary series, in the freaking anniversary.

Hear me out- Go-Busters will be stretched over 2 years with rather scattered airings that are spaced out enough that kids don't forget episodes permitting Saban to adapt a proper Kyoryuger and catch up to at least Korea when it come to airing Sentai adaptations.

Why must Go-Busters be unceremoniously breezed through that way? Because it's toys permit it. Go-BusterOh, Buster Hercules and Tategami LiOh are the only giant robot toys from the series and FS-0O is the only Accesory Mecha (and a special edition movie figure at that!). Cut out the frog, and the show can be aired and skipped. Sorta.

Or just air it as a Summer Series. That works too.

Or GO-Busters will become the new 'Alien Rangers' thing they do real quick and then jump right into Kyoryuger as quick as possible to try and appeal to the old school Power Ranger fans.

"Look everyone, dinozords are back! See? SEE!? Oh, and we added diversity by changing one of the four male rangers to female again just like the original Power Rangers show because we're PC!"

If any of the suits get gender swapped for the Kyoruger adaptation, I think they'd actually make Green the girl. His posing is relatively more feminine than Black or Blue.

I'm still hoping Saban takes Kyoryuger's "Heroes From Across the World" setup and runs with it, right down to keeping Black and Pink's names for "Paleo Squad."

What? Before Megaforce, folks were calling the Goseiger adaptation "Angel Force" or "Celestial Guardians" despite those names being too clunky or whatever reason we agreed they wouldn't do Angels for a season.

Changing Nossan gender is more problematic than that.

True, there's Sentai being a fanboy to contend with, and the general physiology and behavior of the suit footage being very "full-grown male" in design.

A lady Green Ranger is something we have yet to see (No, Mele does not count!:p) and Kyoryuger's "girls aren't tough enough to defeat a dinosaur" bull crap has given Saban a venue for a Lady Ranger to be a traditionally male* color.

*ACCORDING TO THIS SERIES, AT THE VERY LEAST

Or they could just make KyoryuViolet a permanent part of the team. Considering the penchant for 20 episode season, and Violet being introduced 20 episodes in, that gives them plenty of footage of a female violet ranger alongside the rest of the team.
There isn't a rule that states the series has to begin with 5 rangers. Maybe Kyoryu's English adaptation will have a 7 man team. *Shrugs*
