Hey everyone.

While Akibaranger is in limbo for the time being, we're going to be shutting down the forum to clear up some space on our forum index. You'll still be able to search for the threads and read them, but the forum will not be visible and will be closed.

Just an FYI.

Anyone have a picture of that shrine they can post in this thread? Seems appropriate.

Surely Hatte Saburo will haul the thread out again if he decides to. :)

There will be no season 3.
The closest thing you will see is some form of V-cinema.
If that one works out fine there will be a new project completely replacing Akibaranger.

why wont we get a season 3? no spoilers please (i have not watched any akibarangers) and incidentaly where can i watch it?

Simply because the production is fed up with it.
Also Toei is always looking for new ideas. Akibaranger was one of their projects to fully utilize their "new" special effect studio, and using it to researching for new possiblilties. Now they will look for something else to try out the tools and skills in hand.
Also making multiple seasons with a crew of uncertain availability isn't what they have in their mind.
We know now that they are using the 2/3 of the full budget of a 50 episode regular Super Sentai title to make 12 episodes Akibaranger (from an interview for Figure-Oh). I can see why people up there will try to use that kind of money to try out something new.

OK, well, in honour of Akibaranger and the imminent going-dark of the forum, I'll post this . . .

P.S. Would a Kamen Rider version work? Possible crossover in the future with Akibaranger if the Kamen Rider version succeeds (if there is a Kamen Rider one done)?

Den, about a few months ago, posted that Toei started copyrighting things that lead to the rumors of a Kamen Rider Akibaranger.

It was Kamen Norider, the name of a parody from back in the day.
