1. With Koyomi In The Hands Of Fueki, Haruto Reveals The Truth To The Others! 2. Mayu Reveals She Needs Something From Haruto Before She Can Obtain The Means To Defeat Medusa! 3. Masahiro's Wife Is Under Attack! Don't Fall Into Despair! 4. Mayu VS Medusa! Haruto And Nitou VS Arachne! The Battles Rage On! 5. Wiseman Finally Confronts The Mahoutsukai By Entering The Battle! But...~DISCUSS, PLEASE~ |
Alas, poor Medusa.
The Holy ring was pretty gnarly, I thought. |
Well all I could say is that I called it months ago and I'm not surprised.
And Holy is awesome. |
Watched the RAW
-Holy ring was kinda dumb. Just another ring with CGI effect. -The actress for Medussa is damn good. And again she did a great job with the death scene -This gate's 'hope' was one of the only ones in the series that made any sense -Haruto is an idiot. How would he not know the Infinity ring is missing? I can't imagine that super magic rings are like car keys. And we finally get an answer to one of the biggest questions of the series. White Wizard is Wiseman. I freaking called this months and months ago. I FEE SPECIAL NOW! On another note, does anyone know how well KR Wizard has done ratings and merch wise in Japan? I'm curious how it has stacked up against other KR series. |
Wonder how many people are gonna come into this thread and say "I called it" :lol

All in all I'd say that this is a good start to the end. I'll give 47 a 4 out of 5. |

The toy sales are going very, very well, according to what I've read, although I don't see any numbers on that. |

Both KR and Sentai ratings has been dropping in recent years. I wonder if it due to Japan's plummeting birth rate (compared to other 1st world nations). |

What a fantastic episode and a great end to Medusa. Didn't care for her in the beginning, she grew on me in the middle with the developments of Mayu, and I loved seeing her go down. The epic WTF moment of learning Wisemans' identity, and her reaction, were priceless. |

Oh, so now you act? A little late for that, missy. Yeah, you still have the Mayu character to portray, but we only got 4 episodes left, now...
*Tallys another "I called it"* And is Yuzuru getting his own Mage form? I'd love to get a figure of him and a bike in his scale to commemorate the greatest episode of Wizard ever :p Quote:

I would just like to point out that I was the first to say 'I called it!'.
*Adds another tic to the tally board of 'Things That Don't Acutally Matter'* So if Wizard has 6.2% what's Kyoryuger hitting right now ratings wise? I'm curious since the toys are apparently selling like gang busters. |
I LOVED this episode.
Wizard has a lot of useless, fluff characters, but the core characters that matter are so well realised and are the reason that I can never truly hate this show. I wish Mayu was in the series way earlier because her presence both in action scenes, but also out of them is a welcome one, she is a really great character. It's impressive as well, how likeable she is, when her other role in the show is playing a sour puss I spend every episode wanting to punch in the face. Still, Medusa got a very satisfying send off indeed, I love how Phoenix got the big epic action send off, but she got the big epic emotional send off. Just a shame neither of those characters lived up to their own endings. Also man Nitou really has grown into a very very likeable character, I love how he is actually a person now and isn't just another piece of unnecessary comic relief. His big, almost aggressive personality where he flings his emotions all around the room really does strike a great balance with Haruto's play his cards close to his chest, shoulder the burden alone personality. The raw cracks in Haruto's voice as Nitou confronts him and his actions speak volumes, that is what I love about Haruto, it's all in the details for those who care enough to look. And that is what I love about Nitou, he works in perfect balance with Haruto, making a truly classic duo. Move aside, Batman and Robin. Really the only thing that let the episode down was the worlds most obvious twist. |

I can only assume that the four Wizards (Haruto, Mayu, Yuzuru, and Todoroki) are going to be some kind of mana batteries for whatever the Philosopher's Stone does that'll make Koyomi a real girl. I don't see Haruto or Mayu going along with that willingly. And man, how great is Mayu? I'm really liking the way she's developing as a character. I'm glad the show is keeping her around and using her effectively as a flawed, but dedicated hero. My favorite scene this week was Haruto talking to Mayu in Todoroki's house (as a side note, I wish they cast Akira's actress from Hibiki and Decade as his wife - that would've amused me so much). Haruto's whole "I'm freaking out on the inside, but I have to hold it together for Koyomi's sake" speech is a great encapsulation of why he's become one of my favorite Riders. Even if it was followed by the incredibly boneheaded decision to give Mayu the Infinity ring. |

Since Rinko is only allowed to be useful and badass in movies, and Medusa went from a great villain to standing around looking like a horses anus I'm surprised by just how well they have constructed Mayu, she really is a fantastic character, I think she makes a better secondary than Beast has, who is only just coming together for me. I think Haruto giving the Ring across was an important aspect for Haruto's character, it was pretty dumb to be fair, but it's his thought process that is important 'I'm trusting you', after his whole escapade with his Teacher, Haruto is finally growing and letting people in. It's just a shame his trust is then shit on... |

I think by this point Haruto is just desperate, he is very proactive to his heroing business, so he probably isn't used to getting caught off guard, let alone the fighting arriving at his front door and all the revelations that came with it. If Haruto wasn't falling to bits right now, he might have been less quick to pass the ring across. |

Joking aside I have to agree. Medusa was a great character then somewhere around the late 30's eps she kinda got boring and one note. |

Yeah I dunno what happened, she went from this real badass, oh shit kinda villain to just wandering around going 'hmm' with a slapped arse expression, while occasionally purring and rubbing against Wiseman's legs. |
Episodes like these are exactly why I try to stick with things until the end. Had I given up on Wizard weeks ago, I wouldn't have got to see this utterly fantastic episode.
Despite her being possibly the dullest villain ever, that was a brilliant send off for Medusa. Those few scenes really showed how hopelessly devoted she was to Wiseman and how in denial she wanted to be about being used. Its a pity that the character didn't have any room to emote outside of that. These last few episodes are going to be great. Between Haruto and Nitou starting not to see eye to eye on a few things (I know it'll never amount to much, but I enjoy those little bits of conflict) and Mayu easily becoming the best female Japanese Kamen Rider (in terms of character anyway), its really good to start looking forward to episodes of this show again :) |
So how many episodes do we have left? Three, maybe four at the most? I'm interested to see how the series is going to wrap up. Is three eps enough to satisfy all the plot threads thought?

Betrayal is one nasty business ain't it? Seeing the reactions of the betrayed and the betrayer is always interesting. From the betrayed's "Why????" to the betrayers's "You've served your purpose. Thanks. Bye." It creates great moments like the one in this episode.
So I guess Fueki will now kidnap Todoroki (Damn it I can't remember his name here). And he'll probably brainwash Mayu or something. And what will Gremlin do now? He was the forgotten character this episode but he probably still has some play left in him. |
I'm somewhat disappointed that Phoenix hasn't managed to return from the Sun. That would've been kickass.

You're lying if you didn't see this twist coming. :P
Still, I did really like how it went down. Fueki attacking Medusa as Wiseman and then finishing her off as White Wizard was pretty cool. I do still wonder about him though. Is Fueki really in complete control as Wiseman? What spawned that form? To be a Wizrad you have to have a Phantom inside you... So is Wiseman the actual Phantom, or a humanoid manifestation of it? The only other examples are all distinct personalities from the person they're inside, so is he actually different? Also, I wish Mayu had gotten an uniquely colored suit over the generic Mage one... Yuzuru's blue seen in the preview really pops. I'm guessing Masahiro will be the green one we saw in the magazine scans. |
I mother fu- Oh... everybody else called it? Well. This is awkward.
Also, as one the same thing that everybody else is saying. Medusa? Damn good actress. Which is only odd, because when she plays her sister? Awful... |

Yeah, Medusa's death was great but it doesn't change the fact she's been a terrible character and an utter bore to watch until that point. If anything, Mayu managed to salvage what little character was in there.
|
Oh come on Gremlin's backstory was so awesome, that twist man! It's just a shame that the majority of the Phantoms are more interesting in human form than they are monster form.
Also Medusa was pretty badass at the beginning, but then along the way her role was reduced to just looking ugly in the background. |
i was so thinking okay come on todoroki henshin already when the spider was attacking masahiro's wife XD
|
We finally get the "big reveal" that everyone has been expecting since..the beginning?
Still the last chunk of episodes have been pretty damned solid, and now that we are finally moving into the end game I am hoping things keep up and the season can finish off strong. Let's just not have an ending that pulls the same kinda irritating BS that Ryuki, Fourze, and W all did. |
I actually found when I called it

I think the twist was brilliantly handled since it popped up.
It was basically common knowledge since the possibility presented itself, but what made it great was the anticipation to see if it would ACTUALLY be true or not. It was basically a reverse plot twist. |
