Another round of magazine scans for your viewing pleasure! Today's scans reveal:

SPOILERS ahead for Kamen Rider Wizard!

Well, looks like yet another massive list of people "calling it" is in order for Gremlin being the final big bad.

I'm seriously disappointed if Gremlin turned out to be the villain.
We build up White Wizard as playing everyone, and then it turns out the random mid-season villain was the true big bad? *Sighs*

I've hated, HATED, Gremlin ever since his first appearance. It's incredibly disappointing that he steals the show at the end. Though I do like that it'll probably give a small bit of redemption to Fueki and his plan.

From a moral standpoint, Fueki always had that bit of humanity solely because his actions were to save his daughter, but having Gremlin turn out to be the big bad won't redeem him, it'll just make him a little more tragic.

Maybe I'm wording it wrong. But I won't hate Fueki the way I imagined I would now. He won't fight everyone and have to be killed by the good guys, he won't be the one in the way at the end. Gremlin will sort of unite the others to stand against him and make Fueki seem less morally ambiguous by comparison.

The whole Phoenix Gremlin thing was really oddly handled. Phoenix largely did nothing for most of the show, had a really cool battle, then died and was replaced immediately by a far more interesting Phantom, who basically stood around doing nothing just as often.

I just don't get why Gremlin wasn't just always there, and why even bother with Phoenix if they always planned to have him killed half way through the show and never mentioned again.

I was actually hoping the events would occur like that. I would've loved for the climax to be Wizard vs. White Wizard. After his spiel about how he doesn't care who gets hurt, who dies, etc, as long as Koyumi is brought back, it kind of ended any sympathy I held for him. Perhaps he'll be made sympathetic once more in the upcoming episodes, but as it stands now, I kind of want him to get axed.

That was kind of the point. Phoenix was always there to serve as the power bar for Phantoms, and Haruto killing him was to show how far Haruto had grown in power and ability.

That, and he had a bitchin' design.

Phoenix is still one of the best Phantom designs in the series.

My theory is just as Fueki is almost done with the Sabbath, Gremlin intervenes and absorbs/kills Fueki, adding his mana to his own, giving him his new form and Fueki's HammerCane.

So his point, was to have no point? As all he did was just stand about. It was like watching a really shitty, poor man's version of the classic Shounen rivalry without any of the stuff that make those interesting. Phoenix was certainly no Vegeta or Grimmjow that's for damn sure.

I think part of his point was to show the fact that Phantoms are not redeemable nor can they show true kindness and trust, no matter how kind they were in their past life. Rinko put her trust in him and talked out with him after learning who his Gate was, and just when she thought he was kind he still decided to follow the path of destruction. Sure Gremlin kinda showed that too, but he was a psychopath from the start.

He was never intended to be a rival. Phoenix's ultimate goal was always to serve as the one to set the bar. It's not that he didn't have a point, because it's quite clear why he was there. He was always intended to be a shallow character who existed to show just how much Haruto had grown.

The better equivalent would be Ginyu and Renji, both characters who were hyped up, and then proceeded to defeat the hero, just to return later and get utterly trounced to show how far the heroes of their respective series had come.

But there was none of that build up, that made those showdowns so epic, he just stood around doing fuck all, they repeated that shot over and over for about ten episodes of him shouting in the rain even when the context had long been forgotten and then he died.

Guess you weren't watching when he tried to murder that kids parents and drove Haruto to obtain Flame Dragon which allowed Haruto to kill him. And then the other successive times he fought Haruto in his other forms and died and came back stronger every time. Ultimately resulting in TRAPPING HIM IN THE DAMN SUN because he'd grown so powerful. If that's not build up then I don't know what is.

Is it just me who thinks that the powered up enemy looks like Gremlin and White Wizard combined?

You know I don't see that, but your point makes me think of something else. What if since Gremlin is a human at heart, a human within a Phantom, he's sort of a reverse Wizard? Access to a different kind of magic and all that. Maybe that's why he can use Fueki's Cane, maybe he's able to use rings without knowing it? That could be what alters his form, maybe because of the nature of his being he was using the Philosopher's Stone to become human but it instead warped him into that?

They're making it pretty obvious Torin is gonna be Silver.

He damn well had better be Silver or be connected to him in some fashion. I still think Torin and Daigo's father are related/connected in some way. Maybe his father was the first Kyoryu red?

Between his GabuRevolver looking exactly like Torin's head, him fighting KyoryuJin, and the roll call with Violet and the Spirits, he definitely has something to do with Silver, assuming he isn't Silver.

I cant wait for the 10 different SHFs theyll have to make for this guy. :lolol

Speaking of figuarts i really hope gremlins powered-up form isnt the way bandai is going to release white wizards hamel cane.

And that's the worst kind of villain type to have ALL your villains be.

The best villains are ones with multiple sides. Ones that aren't predictable or finite in their goals.

Bring on Bragigas scans! I can squeeze one more Voltasaur on the shelf!

Gremlin's new design looks awesome. Nobody seems to notice the Dragon on his chest that's really similer to the Dragon Forms'. So I guess something can withdraw more power from the Gremlin Phantom, weither that being the Philosper's stone changing him into an evil rider capable of upgrading or some sort of ring made for phantoms that Fueki or Wajima is going to pull out of thier ass.

If I wasn't sold on Carnival before I sure as hell am now. Love it.

Ok I'm really digging Gaim's bike.

So...Yeah. I might be dropping Kyoryuger in the near future after seeing this Carnival form.
If they pull a bait and switch with who Silver is, then I'm definitely dropping it.

I'm really curious to see how they'll handle Kyoryu Red Carnival as a Figuarts

I'm hoping so too. Looking at the whole red/blue revolver thing again I think it's safe to assume that Doctor Ulshade & Yayoi will build it specifically for him. Since he's not human he gets a special kind of revolver to henshin with.

And everybody did see the news a few days back about the new opening sequence on the Toei website right? They're going to be filming a brand new opening sequence (unsure about song) but the opening will now feature the 9 Kyoryugers we have up to this point. No Silver in there yet but it'll be cool to see the others get some love.

Oh? I missed that news.

I'd be perfectly fine with that. The second Go-Busters opening was excellent, I actually liked it alot better than the first.

Kyoryu Red Carnival looks...Well looks like a Mini-Kyoryuzin to me, and oddly it works! I actually like it.

New intro? That's pretty neat.
I wonder if Ulshade will get to show up in it or if we'll only see Yayoi.

I don't think there's much reason for it to be the Doctor since he isn't Violet anymore. And the promotional image even shows that it's the core 6 plus Yayoi, Ramirez, and Tessai, in civillian form. It's tiny but it's clearly her:

You know, I don't know why people complain about Gremlin being the final villain. A character who shows up in a series that is not shown originally with the "core villain group," who shows a change from his usual character during an episode that shows he has alternate motives, only to "take over" after the big bad and be the one that the protagonist fights off against to "end" the evil once and for all?
