Tell Us Your Let's Watch Wednesdays Nominations
 

Well folks our time with Ultraman Nexus is coming to an end next month. But you know what that means? New show time for Let's Watch Wednesdays @ Tokunation! As with every Let's Watch Wednesdays segment we want you, the community, to decide what you'd like to see next. This will be an open thread strictly for nominating possible choices of what show to watch after Nexus. 4 simple rules apply here:

1. Shows from the last 3 years are NOT ELIGIBLE . We want people to broaden their horizons and check out some older shows they otherwise wouldn't. And although the entire community may not have viewed a particular show already, it's far more likely for recent shows that a majority has. Viewership tends to decrease when we do repeats of newer series.
2. Only shows which are COMPLETELY subbed are eligible. If a sub group has only done 30 out of 50 episodes you see the problem we run into. Complete shows only
3. Shows that have not completed airing are also ineligible, Wizard, Kyoryuger, etc
4. Shows that have been previously featured on Let's Watch Wednesdays are ineligible for entry as well.
   That list includes;
   
   Kamen Rider Ryuki
   Kamen Rider W
   Gosei Sentai Dairanger
   Choujin Sentai Jetman
   Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger
   Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
   Ultraman Nexus.

This thread will be left open for nominations until Tuesday September 10th, just before our run with Nexus ends. Then we will post a poll featuring the top 10 choices from this thread on September 11th. That is the top 10 shows with the most nominations. Of those top 10 choices, whichever has the most votes at the end will be our winner! Remember one nomination per person.

The community has grown quite a bit and I'd like to think people will actually vote for something new instead of the same shows they've seen several times already. But I will add that stipulation. Thanks for the reminder.

Another Ultra show? Mebius would be sweet.

I've nothing against OOO, I just like using these to expose people to stuff they'd be less likely to watch normally. I doubt I'd have ever watched Nexus without LWW and now I'm watching that, watching Max, watching Ginga, and very slowly torrenting Tiga. OOO, frankly, is a show that most people here have seen or already have on their shortlist. Ditto for Fourze, Go-Busters, Gokaiger, etc.

Part of me actually wants to nominate Garo or Daimajin Kanon for that reason, but I'mma stick with Black until it finally wins the vote, no matter how long that takes. :lol

Edit: it's a pity Metalder isn't fully subbed, that would be perfect for this.

I'm legitimately unsure what I'll nominate this time around! With Nexus having done its job (man I need to catch up, but hupla and his Heisei Godzilla marathon...), I wouldn't mind nominating or supporting Mebius one bit, but I don't mind switching it back to something more typical either ie. making Black win. Or I could go in an entirely different direction and nominate something like Gransazers or Ryukendo!

Tensou Sentai Goseiger anyone?

I wanna keep using LWW to watch shows that aren't usually on my radar,since the Takara Toku got shot down last time I'll support them this time. Put me down for Ryukendo.

Let's see. I did Ryukendo the first time, Rescue Fire the last time... perhaps Rescue Force this time?

Too recent.

Choushinsei Gransazer sounds fun, but I'd like to watch a series where the mecha include a red dragon, a big black lion, a phoenix commanded by a girl in pink who can attack you with wind, the lack of surnames for the characters, and "Gosei" in the title.

And no, there are no angels in what I just described. :D

I'm going to go with the most random thing I can think of and say:

Toei Spider-Man.

It's old and different (very different), it's fully subbed and free to view on Marvel's website, I can guarantee most of the community hasn't seen it, and it has 70's cat drugs.

As pointed out it's a bit too recent/ Since Kyoryuger is running it's not eligible anyway so that would mean the 3 most recent sentai are Goseiger, Gokaiger, and Go-buster. Sorry, I love Goseiger too :(

I have fond memories of Ryukendo, since they actually aired that show here (in the worst schedule possible but it's something).

This may seem like a shot in the dark, but what about the first Power Rangers? Since tokusatu has grown since those early days perhaps taking a look back can tell us more about what has changed and what has stayed the same since those 90s days.

Oh... I just thought that since you already did W which ran along Goseiger that it would be eligible... I don't know who to blame so I'll just blame Decade... ONORE DECADEO!

MMPR1, Gransazer, Dairanger, all choices I'd go with.

Does the other "Gosei" series count? both have oddly similar elements right down to Mei being an pink-clad air elemental that commands a phoenix.

The 3 year rule didn't exist when they did W... I think.

I have to say I'm glad a rule finally came down about shows within the past three years. Getting recent Toku into the mix kinda defeats the purpose of LWW. Anyway, my nomination shall be what is has been the last two times, Kamen Rider Black.

I'm honestly considering going with it myself while I'm on a massive Ultra kick. But there are at least a couple Heisei riders I haven't seen along with some earlier Sentai.

I'll just nominate Amazon then. I've been meaning to check that one out for a while.

If Mebius doesn't make the cut then hopefully Ryukendo manages to win, it's a different toku show but still enjoyable.
