Green and purple was always such a nice color combination.

I think this is the real Kamen Rider Joker, as opposed to the one in W where the color scheme is black and purple.

I love it! Really digging the Chinese warrior theme quite a bit, and the grapes aren't nearly as overbearing as I thought they'd be.

Ryugen honestly looks the best to me.

The only thing I don't like from all of these scans we're getting right now is that it looks like the Riders are going to fight each other at some point. Just too overdone at this point to have them fight during their initial introductions...

The whole point of this one is that they're at odds with each other from the get go though. I like that. Some of my favorite rider shows feature rider vs rider battles. Kiva, Ryuki, Decade, etc.

And honestly them beating the crap out of each other doesn't bother me much, so far all the Neo-Heisei riders have been a little bit too friendly, a larger cast of Riders fighting each other sounds good.

I'm actually not a fan of the Chinese motif he has. It just looks...Meh. I do enjoy that, despite having a grape theme, he doesn't look stupid, so I appreciate that.

Ah, well... I was expecting the whole "become best buds two episodes later" bit we've gotten in the past 3 shows. That might be different. And I do love Kiva and Ryuki for that...

The way Ryugen is styled makes me think he should have something more than just a grape gun.

I personally think it's kinda neat that we are having a return to a "multiple rider" format instead of just "one rider, one rival". But that's probably because I got introduced to Kamen Rider with Blade and the like.
That said, I don't wan them to ONLY do hundreds of riders per show, but it's a nice change of pace.

Agreed. I got into Riders through Decade which had 2 and sometimes 3 regulars with the inclusion of Yuusuke/Kuuga. And it featured multiple riders all the time wether they were summons or not. And I loved that. By comparison W felt very flat and boring with only 2 main riders and one that was relegated to very few cameos (Skull).

Did you just say Decade was better than W because Decade spent time mucking up other rider continuities while W actually had focus and spent time making the main rider something other than a flat non-character who somehow can't even dub for the suit without sounding bored?

It's one of the most common problems Power Rangers and Sentai fans have when it comes to getting into Kamen Rider.
They want 6 guys running around in bright suits rather than 2 characters who grow and develop.

Dude you know my opinion of W. I think it's one of the most overrated things in Kamen Rider. It was an okay show with some decent supporting characters, a great secondary rider, and a flat main rider character(s). Yes. I like Decade alot more than W, I found W to be slow and rather long winded. The basic premise was great but it was executed poorly. Coming off of Decade I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. W was boring.
Just so you know I do kind of take offense to that. Sorry that I tend to like a set of characters versus an over saturation of just 2? You might think that's a problem but I like to have multiple characters to follow through out a series. And if you think there's "no development" just because there's more than 2 significant characters running around, then I direct you to rider shows such as Ryuki, Blade, Hibiki, etc.

I've been into Kamen Rider LONGER than I've been into Sentai and I haven't been into Power Rangers since I was about 10. So please don't try to act like my opinion isn't valid because I'm one of those guys who like's "6 bright suits" or whatever versus 2 main characters. Kamen Rider holds a pretty awesome place in heart just like sentai does. And besides that, with Kamen Rider you do often get 6+ people who develop or whaetver. Unfortunately it happens that 4 of them tend to be the worthless support characters who don't get in on the action at all. Developing heroes and villains is what I'm interested in, not the background dudes.

Not for me, I loved the few people concept of OOO and W, to me helped establish the main character(s) more.

Except it's a completely common problem I've noticed from my time on Toku boards. The team mentality is dropped and the series becomes about a smaller cast.

When you use a blanket statement like that it kind of comes off like I, as someone who must like sentai/rangers more, doesn't have a proper opinion of Rider shows because of the whole team dynamic broader cast thing. It's fine if that's not what you meant. but lumping sentai/ramger fans into a big pile like they can't collectively appreciate the rider dynamic is a bit harsh.
I thought we'd talked about this in the what are you watching thread before? :lol I've never really cared for W before despite it's fan favorite status. I promise I'm not trolling you or anyone else. I genuinely find Decade to be more enjoyable. I tend to like shows that revel in the chaos (Decade) that they are as opposed to ones that carefully follow a more linear plot (W).

sounds like you have playing too much climax heroes lol. although, i wish they have done this in every show since decade.

Honestly, I'm more than ready for a multiple Rider show again. The last few seasons have been fun for the most part, but I'm getting kind of tired of the Den-O format (two Riders; one goofball, one serious). I want a show with a larger range of Riders again.

I've never been a fan of them, personally. They feel too cluttered for my tastes.

It depends on how they pull it off. Blade and Hibiki juggled the multiple Riders really well, for the most part. Kabuto was kind of a mess, but it had a terrible writer so that really didn't help.

Blade did it pretty well, but I've yet to see Hibiki.
Kabuto was a disaster, and Ryuki was too chaotic at times.

The biggest problem I have with Kamen Rider trying to be super sentai is that it just...can't be. Even in these days and ages where everything can be done on a computer, when you see the kind of polish and just general crazy awesomeness of like Kyoryuger, then go back to Wizard which has some of the flashiest Rider action ever, you realise just how much smaller the budget feels. Obviously I want to be wrong, but if they do try and make this Kamen Rider Super Sentai, with a Kamen Rider budget, I think it's likely to be awful.

I don't think Rider just makes the casts smaller, and focuses more on the drama than the action, because they want to, I think they do it because they have to, it works for the show and sets it apart. That doesn't need to be changed.

I am fine with multiple Riders because the 2 Rider shows have become somewhat stale. As long the writers do a good job of juggling these Riders everything should fall into place.

Is anybody else thinking that if Urobochi does things his way (dark) Ryugen will be the sacrficial lamb, Gaim's the main guy, it seems like Baron is the secondary and Zangetsu the rival, so they are safe for the time being.

Plus it would cause conflict for both Gaim (friends) and Zangetsu (siblings) maybe that's what causes Zangetsu to turn against Yggdrasil.

Just crazy ideas that were in my mind. :p

I think that Ryugen's a pretty solid candidate to get the Urobuchi cut if anyone does.

Five Riders and they still can't give us a main female Kamen Rider character?

Curious how they're so afraid of sales that even when we have multiple riders from the get go not one is female.

Its like Mele and Rio had a baby, and that baby became a Kamen Rider obsessed with Grapes and Breakdancing! I love it :lol
