Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Battle Bikes Gallery!
39 Attachment(s)
Did you like the bike featured in Tokunations' Tyranno Ranger gallery? Well to round out our celebration for the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers we're bringing you a triple dose of bikes with this special gallery featuring the T-Rex, Triceratops, and Mammoth Battle Bikes!
Known as Road Saurers in Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, the MMPR Battle Bikes are fun little vehicles which included full decal sheets and simplistic 4" ranger figures to drive them. While the figures themselves are nothing compared to today's standard, S.H. Figuarts, the bikes themselves actually scale pretty well with SHF's. The original Zyuranger releases of these vehicles, like many vehicles from early Hesei Sentai, tend to be hard to find and pricey. These US release are a great and pretty inexpensive alternative! As far as I can recall, the bikes were never used in MMPR, were they?
We got the Shark Cycles in Season 3, but never these. |

They were seen very briefly in episode 31, Calamity Kimberly. And that's only because there was no way for them to be edited out of the couple reaction shots they're seen in behind the rangers.
http://imageshack.us/a/img203/5167/kcgk.png For whatever reason they were never really seen or mentioned again. The Thunder Bikes were likewise forgotten entirely and only when the Shark Cycles came around did the rangers really use any sort of vehicle transports. The communicators made most of those kinds of things obsolete. The Road Saurers were used quite a bit more in Zyuranger. |
"Power Rangers! Kimberly is in trouble! Rather than use the teleportation, which is instantaneous and incredibly accurate, take the Battle Bikes instead!"
Even as a kid I was like "Huh?" |

I actually kind of wondered why they even needed the Shark Cycles in S3 since they still had teleportation :lol
Anyway, these toys look nice. I'm not a fan of shafting 2 of the rangers and only giving them sidecars, though. |

I remember having the black rangers cycle as a kid. It might have been my first power ranger toy
|
Man, those toys are mint! I hope when the remaining MMPRs are released you get some more pictures! !
|
man I miss finding those bikes as a kid had the red ranger but then lost all the pieces lol
|
I clearly remember, when I had these as a child, that I took silver chrome looking spray paint and thought it would be the coolest thing ever to paint these bikes. It did not turn out so well :lol
Thankfully finding these things now is rather easy, they're actually very cheap. |
I have the red and black ones, but they aren't in that great shape. The figures them selves are busted all the heck. I'm kinda surprised that the Figurarts look so good on these things.
If I remember correctly, the shark cycles (in addition being there to sell toys) were used because they had a monster that was driving around super fast and they couldn't catch it on foot or via teleportation, so they needed a speedy ground vehicle that can be found in toy stores now bug your parents! |
Well, now I have one of these. Still away on visitation, can't wait to get back home to pose this with my MMPR Red. I'm looking to get either Mammoth or Tricera Bike, more likely Mammoth as it's rider is the only one of the two out and I have him.
It's used, but in decent condition. But I'm not too picky because I have it, and it works and is 99% complete. Red Ranger is loose with paint wear, and missing the Blaster. All in all, I'm happy to join the club. Thanks Den-O for the inspiration! |
