Power Rangers Megaforce "Man and Machine" Preview
1 Attachment(s)
It's been a while since we've seen one of these!
That's right, Power Rangers Megaforce finally returns to television screens this Saturday, and to fuel the hype Nick.com have put up a clip of this weekend's episode - titled "Man and Machine". The clip itself isn't visible to those outside of the US, so as usual our friends over at Rangercrew/Samuraicast blog have uploaded the clip to Youtube, which you can view below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6CtTo9VUBU The summary for the episode is: "When a shadow-stealing monster attacks, the Rangers must teach Robo Knight the power of teamwork in order to defeat him." Are you looking forward to the return of Power Rangers Megaforce? Let us know after the jump! |
I shuddered in horror, the conversation between Robo Knight and the Shadow Serpent was almost as awkward as me around a girl I like.

teamwork eh? calling it now the debut of the gosei grand great amazing mgazord or whatever its called.
|
That awkward moment when the kid's crappy acting is on par with the rest of the cast.
|
I freaking love how silly Roboknight sounds. XD
|
Ohhhh. They're going for a Robocop vibe with Gosei Knight. I don't know why I only just now noticed that :lol

This. Feels. Just. As. Bad. As. Samurai.
Ugh. I cannot stand that dialogue. Maybe its me, but while I love the changes, the acting is.....just stunted. I feel kind of sad about that. I know it'll take time to bring it up to speed, and they're actors, and a kids show, but I don't get the same emotion from this series like I did with past series. I'll keep watching for the nostalgia, but the original sentais are still where the heart is. |

"Don't worry, your parents will be okay. I'll get the bad guy." Possibly the worst line of dialogue I've heard yet from this show. |

Urgh. Urgh. |
Props to the writers for thinking ahead on Jake and Gia and making it a season-long ongoing story. Goseiger didn't have much of an overall story arc, so it's nice to see Megaforce has character development over the season. I just wish the writers thought ahead on the whole Goseiger/Gokaiger combo, but it does remind me of old MMPR when they mashed together different sentai....so in a way, it totally fits the anniversary vibe.

Finally. The sooner we finish and get to Super Megaforce the better!

It's pretty sad when the robot character acts more human than the other Rangers.

I was curious about what I was missing, since I've avoided Power Rangers since RPM.
Jesus Ardvark Christ I will never be curious about anything ever again. I... God damn, I thought, FOOLISHLY thought PR fans were just over-blowing the awfulness of Megaforce and that it was just not great/boring/meh... but I didn't make it thirty freaking seconds into that clip. God, how can you possibly act that bad? At what point do you realise you have abandoned basic human qualities? It makes other PR seasons out to be television drama at it's finest. |
You should try watching a full episode.
I'm not saying that it's better than that preview, but I'm just curious on your feelings of a full, 22 minutes episode :lol |
I dunno. I like that my last, proper memory of PR is RPM.
I like it a lot. |
At least it's better than Samurai.

The director has to be telling Robo Knight's actor to talk slowly so that kids can pick up what he's saying. I refuse to believe anyone can act that poorly without recognizing it.

But I actually don't think Samurai was worse then Megaforce. It was lazy and had terrible acting, but it at least had a story it was telling and some substance to the episodes and the characters had actual personality traits beyond just being stereotypes. You finish an episode and you feel like you finished an episode, if that makes sense? With Megaforce, everything in between Goseiger footage is just a rushed blur that is immediately forgettable. The "stories" are about 5 minutes of the episode max and get barely any time to develop whatsoever, with the last two minutes (like, literally as the credits are rolling) being a really quick conclusion to what little actual plot the episode had. Look at the "bullying" story of that one Troy feature episode for example. There were literally two scenes with the bullies; one where Troy stopped the bullying and one where they suddenly were nice and there was no in between. |

I enjoy Megaforce over (Super) Samurai because the actors have enough charisma to win me over in their performances (yes, even Troy). There's also the sense of fun I feel from watching the show. It's not for everyone, but I do enjoy it for what it is.

From the way characters speak, and the assumed time skips between the non-action stuff, stuff is happening between the fighting but for whatever reason we never see any of it. Leaving the whole thing to be this nauseatingly rushed mess that gives you absolutely no reason at all to care about anything. I guess at least the two female Rangers are babes, especially Christina Masterston. Thank you Megaforce, for pointing me in the direction of her modelling career. |
