Am I the only one who just doesn't like Gia?
 

I've been watching megaforce, and adoring this show, but the one I can't stand is Gia

Now I know she is beloved by many of the fans of this show, but I just don't get why. Jake and Noah are by far the best characters, especially Jake, he is just a Joy to watch. Troy and Emma are okay, nothing ground breaking, but they are average, and Gia just feels like SUPER WONDER WOMAN WHO IS PERFECT AND TOUGH with no other characterization.

i even perfer robo knight to her, really my main issue with the show is Gia

overall I'm loving megaforce though, though I absolutely despise goseiger, might be because they fixed my main issue with the show, the actors and mainly fixed the biggest issue, the twerp that is goseired, that might be why I actually enjoy Troy, because he isn't alata :lol

No, you are not alone. Gia is pretty darn meh.

Gia, just like her team-mates, has no real personality beyond vague hints that she's an "awesome tough girl, yo" because she folds her arms every now and then and because other characters (Jake) tell us she is. Admittedly, she probably is the best in a sea of blandness that the Megaforce characters are, but that is really not saying much, but is probably the reason people hype her way beyond what she's worth.

I agree with every single bit of this. I can't stand Gia.

I question your sanity (Remember, that's from someone who has a thing for Candiliria, Greeed Mezool, Moune, and says JUICY! in everyday conversation). I love Gia. She's the core, the strength, of that team. She's Jen. But blonder and a little bit tougher. And less pink.

And, even if you don't like the character, you have to atleast like Ciara Hanna. Right? She's been amazing with the fans, and those videos on the youtubes. Give me that :lol

I like her more out of principle, than actually liking her. Gray is a terrible actor, and ruins anything interesting about Troy. Emma is nice to look at, but completely vapid. Noah is only interesting in that they matched up the insecure nerd with the most badass member of the Goseiger's. But then Jake and Gia are there, complete characters, fun and well acted. If the rest of the cast were interesting, they'd seem less so, but in comparrison...

They really couldn't have made a more different character from Hyde if they tried.

Gia, tougher then Jen? Have you seen Time Force? Jen is actually tough, she doesn't just cross her arms and nod sometimes. Not to mention she actually has depth and a story and a relationship arc that is actually interesting and was actually the leader of her team.

Yeah, Jen is better than Gia in just about EVERY way. I'll give you the Ciaran Hanna thing, but that's about it.

Maybe it's because she's Gosei Yellow. And she's tough. And awesome. But I don't see it.. I love her more than Jen.

Well to be honest I find that the Megaforce actors are so bland that none of them really stand out to me. :lol

I don't really like megaforce in general. Gia's just one of the main reasons.

Really it seems like picking favourites in the Megaforce cast is like picking what kind of sick torture you want. All this buzz about Gia got me to actually look up clips of the show featuring her and she's freaking awful like all of them. Even comparing her to Jen is an insult to one of the best, if not the best, pink rangers ever.

I don't get the ''popularity'' around the character myself, but I also think there's more, or less, to it. I question if she's really as well-recieved as people say she is, or if it's just another fad-type thing people latch on to to go against the popular opinion that the Neo Saban era is irredeemable tripe in every way.

I pretty much like her because she and Jake are the only complete characters.

Takeru and Marvelous are terrible characters. At least Daigo, another godking Red, is energetic and happy...

Marvelous was Gokai Red, right? The Mythbusters experiment where they tried to see if a silly name could hold a character who was otherwise completely unengaging and also not attractive?

Marvelous wasn't really either unengaging or unattractive though, even if he was probably my least favourite Gokaiger. His personality fit the show and its team line-up and his story-rc was one of, if not the, best of Gokaiger. His name is pretty silly though.

Thing is, Gia and Emma are the closest to their Gokaiger counterparts. You can see Gia has Luka, and Emma as Ahim. But Jake as Doc? Troy as Marvelous? Noah has Joe?! Yea, that just doesn't work. At all.

Robocop as Gosei Knight doesn't work very well, either.

I just posted that in the Ep10 thread. I could forgive the name, the robotic noises, all of it... but that voice x . x

Although the execution may be a little rocky, I love the concept.

I dont really hate Gia and i don't like her. Gia takes most of the part. Rest character's roles are preety less I feel.

I like her because I hate her. She is needlessly a bitch... But, I feel that she is an undertoned of a butch lesbian...

which is all the better since it isnt a direct translation like gokaiger.

on topic of the thread, i really do hate gia as well. she has the worst attitude of anyone and unlike Jen, i dont forsee a change in atitude. once a b**** always a well you know.

She looks incredibly hot, but she is a total bitch and I don't like her. I hope she gets better.

The thing about the character "Gia" is that she's the typical Mary Sue character who just doesn't get any characterization for the stereotype :lol

It's like Jake tells us "She's a Mary Sue!" and then that's the extent of her character development.

Ciarra Hana the actress is simply amazing though. Incredibly sweet and sincere. Spending time with her at SDCC was a highlight.
